Wani-Wani (Japanese: ワニワニ Wani-Wani) is Marina's starter Pokémon.
History
Original series
Wani-Wani was obtained as a Totodile from Professor Elm on the same day that Vincent received his Chikorita and Jimmy received his Cyndaquil, as seen in the Japanese opening and ending theme "A New Oath".
In The Legend of Thunder!, Marina used Wani-Wani to battle Jimmy's Beedrill after Pink was defeated. Jimmy then called Beedrill back and used his Typhlosion to battle against the Water-type Pokémon. During the battle, Marina was shown to be in sync with Wani-Wani's actions. Despite the type-disadvantage, Typhlosion managed to stand up to Wani-Wani's attacks.
Advanced Generation series
Wani-Wani made a cameo appearance along with its Trainer in the beginning of the ninth Pokémon movie, Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.
Diamond & Pearl series
It was revealed to have evolved into a Feraligatr during an internet broadcast of a Pokémon Contest in A Stand-Up Sit-Down!. It was used alongside Pink in a Double Performance, during which it used Aqua Tail to lift Pink in the air so the Balloon Pokémon could use its Psychic attack to splash the water.
Personality and characteristics
Despite Wani-Wani's brief appearance in The Legend of Thunder!, it was shown to be in sync with its Trainer and was able to hold its own during battle. After it evolved sometime before A Stand-Up Sit-Down!, Wani-Wani was also shown to have good contest skills as Marina was able to earn the rank of Top Coordinator.

Trivia
- The nickname Wani-Wani either comes from ワニノコ Waninoko, Totodile's Japanese name, or just from the Japanese word for crocodile, 鰐 wani.
- It is the only starter from The Legend of Thunder! that wasn't in its final form in its introduction, as Jimmy's Typhlosion and Vincent's Meganium are.
