Volt Absorb (Ability)

Volt Absorb (Japanese: ちくでん Electricity Storage) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Six Pokémon can have this Ability, all of which are Electric types.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Volt Absorb is hit by an Electric-type move, its HP is restored by one quarter of its maximum HP, and the move will have no effect. This includes the effect of activating a Cell Battery. If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by an Electric-type move and the target Pokémon has maximum HP, the move will do nothing. In Generation III, Thunder Wave is unaffected by Volt Absorb.

Outside of battle

Volt Absorb has no effect outside of battle.
