Visquez

Visquez (Japanese: ビスケス Visquez) is the Vermilion City Gym Leader in the absence of Lt. Surge. She gives the Thunder Badge to Trainers who defeat her.

In the anime

In the anime, Visquez is a character of the day who appeared in Destination: Coronation!.

She first battled a Trainer and his Hypno with her Raichu, eventually emerging victorious. While cleaning up the mess left by the battle, she received word that a challenger was coming to battle her for the World Coronation Series, who turned out to be Ash. Visquez remembered Ash from his battle against Lt. Surge, and they had a two-on-two battle, with Visquez using her Raichu and Electrode against Ash's Pikachu and Gengar. The battle ended in Visquez's loss, causing her rank to go down.

Afterwards, Visquez said goodbye to Ash and Goh. She then promised Ash that she would tell Lt. Surge about the battle they had and how Ash had evolved as a Trainer since then.

Character

Although she is tough, Visquez encourages all of the Trainers she faces to do their best in battle. Despite being a replacement Gym Leader, Visquez is well-respected in Vermilion City.
