Welcome to Bulbapedia, Zlblosser18!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Your recent edits

Please read the manual of style, especially in regards to Bulbapedia's standards on formatting series and on romanizations. --Abcboy (talk) 02:57, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

Please cease your current edits to Pokémon pages. If you will not stop, you will be temporarily blocked. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:28, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
I don't understand. How is changing Japanese Pokémon names insubordination?Zlblosser18
Bulbapedia has a certain set of rules and regulations regarding Japanese translation, which you were violating repeatedly. Check the manual of style that Abcboy pointed out. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 02:51, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Just to clarify. The Japanese names on Bulbapedia are official trademarked romanisations, they are the names Game Freak uses for merchandise and such. The literal translation is already noted, but they are not the trademarked name.--ForceFire 04:53, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
No, I wasn't trying to violate anything, I swear!! They aren't the trademarked names, but they should be. Zlblosser18
Just because they should be the trademarked names even if they aren't in reality, doesn't mean you should change things up. We go by official information, even if it isn't fully accurate, and like Force Fire said, the literal translations are already noted elsewhere in the articles. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:12, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Just so you know, abcboy, I know what a bureaucrat is - someone who has a personal (self-centered) interest in keeping the system as it is and NOT thinking about the rest of the Community, who may want to use/edit it also. Zlblosser18
Trust me, that kind of uncalled-for behavior is only going to get you blocked. Please desist and review the manual of style if you want to keep contributing here. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:25, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Oh, I realized it wasn't you who typed that last message. Wrong identity. My mistake. I'm really sorry. I wasn't talking to you when I said that. I just got the name wrong. Zlblosser18
Doesn't change the fact that that's what you had to say about people disagreeing with your style... GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:31, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
No, I wasn't talking about you, Abcboy, I respect you, I was talking about GrammarFreak01. (Because their response to my message about Japanese Pokémon names was kind of rude) Zlblosser18
Ummmmm...you've been talking to me the entire time...and I'm not an admin... GrammarFreak01 (talk) 22:04, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Oh you're GrammarFreak01...the person who was rude to me. Why have your responses to me been so rude? And if you're not an admin, then why'd you criticize me when I wasn't trying to do any harm?!Zlblosser18
I was not being rude to you. I was simply reiterating what everyone else was saying. And ignoring other users' messages and continuing your editing patterns still counts as harmful behavior, thus why you were blocked. Also, if you're going to sign your messages, it's a rule to use four tildes (~). GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:43, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
Well, your responses sounded rude, and I wasn't ignoring other users' messages on purpose. Plus some Japanese tm names don't even sound Japanese (like Beedle, Barrierd, Windie, etc.). Zlblosser18
Well, that's just the way Bulbapedia does it. Like Force Fire and I said before, the literal translations are already noted elsewhere in the articles. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 01:50, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
I know you said it before, but it's just confusing as to why some of the tm names aren't Japanese. - unsigned comment from Zlblosser18 (talkcontribs)
The names not sounding "Japanese" is of no concern. If it's the official trademarked name, then it's the official trademarked name and we're going to use it. We're not going to go by what fans think the names should be.--ForceFire 16:31, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
I know you know the talk page exists. You really need to cut out the edits and discuss it over on the talk page. That's how things go around here if certain content is disputed. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:49, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
????...Zlblosser18

(resetting indent)I seriously don't understand how that's confusing to you... GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:54, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Apologies for butting in here but I would like to remind you that GrammarFreak is a very experienced user even though they aren't an admin. I will say that if you are attempting to make edits such as your own, consult an admin or experienced user since they know what they're doing. Also, as everyone else has said, please sign your comments with 4 (~) when you make the comment (not after since it leaves the wrong time stamp). No one is attempting to be malicious to you but please listen to their comments and take it on board. If you refuse, then I would say that Bulbapedia probably isn't for you. This is coming from an experienced user who is not an admin (not as experienced as GrammarFreak though). Thank You. Ice Cream 17:04, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Cool it

Can you tone done your messages? They are uncalled for. None of GrammarFreak's messages were rude, they were just telling you that Bulbapedia goes by official information, not what the fans think the names should be. It's okay to disagree, but do understand that it's how we do things around here.--ForceFire 03:00, 24 September 2018 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get riled up. It's just, I felt offended (and kind of disrespected) by GrammarFreak01's responses.Zlblosser18Zlblosser18 (talk) 10:48, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
How? My messages to you were no different than the ones sent by Abcboy and Tiddlywinks before. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 01:50, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Look back at the previous messages you sent. Then you'll see how. - unsigned comment from Zlblosser18 (talkcontribs)
I did. I'm not really seeing how I was mean to you. By your definition, everyone here was being mean to you, then. Care to elaborate? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:28, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Example:"Doesn't change the fact that that's what you had to say about people disagreeing with your style..." Zlblosser18 09:30, 2 October 2018
That's because you said this. Hostile behavior like that is looked down on Bulbapedia. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
I know, but I didn't mean to say that. I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't believe me. That's why I felt you were being rude. Zlblosser18 10:22, 3 October 2018

Signing

Please remember to always sign your comments. You can sign your comments with 4 tildes (~) or clicking the signature stamp (Signature button.png) on the top of the edit box. It should also be noted that once your comment has been marked as unsigned, you cannot replace it with your signature as it will give off the wrong time stamp. Thank you for taking your time to read this message, have a good day. --ForceFire 16:31, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

As ForceFire said...
1) Signatures use 4 tildes (~), not 3. This adds a timestamp as well as your name.
2) Do not re-sign comments that been marked with the {{unsigned}} template.
In addition, in general, do not go back and change something you have previously written. This means not adding a word in the middle of an old comment or even fixing typos (even if it's yours, and especially if it's not).
I would appreciate if you would respond to this message so we know you've seen it. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:37, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Edits

Could you please make constructive edits, do not remove link templates because that can be seen as vandalism. Most of your edits have been reverted mainly because they have gone against Bulbapedi'a style. If you continue to make these kinds of edits, they will lead to a longer block. Thank you.--ForceFire 16:47, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Italicizing

Bulbapedia has made it a rule not to italicize the names of shows like Pokémon Origins; even the Origins article itself doesn't italicize its own title. It's always just the episode titles that are italicized. Just a heads-up. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:09, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

The same goes with Pokémon Generations. If you're going to continue with these edits, please discuss them on the talk page first. And do note that Bulbapedia has extremely particular guidelines on style. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:26, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Edit warring

Do not continually redo an edit of yours that has been undone. This is called edit warring and is a blockable offense. If you're not aware of it, I would advise you to check a page's history if you find an edit was undone and you don't know why; they may have explained it, or you can at least ask them about it.

Your conduct so far on this wiki has been disruptive and uncooperative. If you cannot learn, you will quickly find yourself blocked entirely and permanently. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:18, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Block

As you've already been warned multiple times, Bulbapedia style is not to use italics for game titles and series and to use link templates where possible. Because you have continued to make such edits adding italics and removing link templates despite being warned not to do so, you have been blocked for a period of one week. Additionally, instead of editing a page one section at a time, you should use the "edit this page" button at the top of the page. Please keep both of these in mind when editing in the future. --Abcboy (talk) 03:13, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
