Welcome to Bulbapedia, YoshisWorld!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Edit warring

It's in your welcome template and it tells you not to edit war. You were clearly doing that because you kept adding back the same thing after getting reverted twice. It's usually a sign that you should stop. If you do not agree, then discuss it on the talk page of the article instead. Since you're new, I'll let this go. But next time, it will result in a ban. Thanks. Jellotalk 20:14, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

The Preview Button

When editing, it is always wise to preview your edits before you hit Save. The preview button is right next to the save button. Using it helps cut down on server stress. Please keep this in mind. Thank you. --ケンジガール 23:58, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Signature Testing

Let's see if this works!

YoshisWorld

And besides signature testing, how it has two "Bulbapedia" sections on my page? Yeah something happened to the internet but I can't delete it since it's only one edit per day. ☆YoshisWorld☆

Double posted

It looks like you double-posted on one of your userspace edits. I was originally going to slap protection on your userpage, but it looks like a mistake. Just thought you should know in case you wanted to fix it or leave it. --rockersk08 20:52, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for letting me know, since I was pretty sure I didn't double post...-- ☆YoshisWorld ☆ 12:26, 30 July 2011 (UTC)YoshisWorld

Appendix titles

It's strongly preferred that you use the game's proper title when writing an appendix page. For example, PokéPark Wii should always be PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, and Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky shouldn't have the 2 unless it's explicitly in the title of the game. Please keep this in mind. Thanks! Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 02:21, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

I did, but the thing is, it won't link to the walkthrough unless it has the "2" in it or without the Pikachu's Adventure. But if that's what's preferred, I'll move it! ^^ --☆YoshisWorld☆ 11:35, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

It's ready

PSY got the templete set up for the Pokedex entry, so if you got the entry written down you can add it now. Truthseeker4449 18:20, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

You sure are a big help with the question I'm having. XD RedYoshi 19:56, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

XD Well, it's the least I could do. Also, for future reference, please put new messages to the bottom. --☆YoshisWorld☆ 19:58, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Romanization Templates

Please don't rely on Google Translate when romanizing names as they can be very inaccurate. (e.g. 張青 as "Blue butterfly"). And besides, they're Chinese names. --超龍對話 23:36, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Thought I would get this message. Thanks for letting me know. Normally, I don't use Google Translate, but my little cousins came last week or something like that, messed around with my computer, and the usual website I used was deleted. Sorry that you have to put up with my stupid new pages. I'll try refinding the website I used before. --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 23:40, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
I see. Hope you would be able to find the website again. --超龍對話 23:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Before you go starting another frenzy of romanizing names. Here are some tips:
General
Do check which one is the first name and which one is the last name, and go for Western convention. Google Translate doesn't usually reverse the order.
Don't leave English translation, unless they don't refer to people (e.g. studios, companies)
Also, don't leave the kanji/hanzi. That's the point of romanizing the text.
Don't mix the romanized text (Chinese with Japanese, or Chinese with Korean)
Japanese names
Names with hiragana and katakana
Names with four or more characters
Names with two-character surname
Please do use the macroned letters when the vowels are elongated (ā,ē,ī,ō,ū), e.g. 大 as ō, 佐藤 as Satō (not Sato).
Chinese Names
Two-character names
Three-character names (May overlap with Japanese and Korean names)
The first character is the surname. When romanizing, put them at the back.
For the last two characters, put a dash in between. (e.g. 王長春‎ = Chang-Chun Wang).
If the name has only two characters, no dash is needed (e.g 張偉 is Wei Zhang, don't write it as Zhang Wei)
Korean Names
Unfortunately, it is usually indistinguishable to Chinese names.
Usually starts with 金 (Kim)/李(Lee)/朴 (Park).

Thanks! I'll be sure to use them! --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 12:00, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Oh wait...."Please determine first which"...what? --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 12:23, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Seems like you have difficulty in figuring out which one is the surname. Japanese surname usually ends with these characters:
本 (-moto), 田 (-ta, -da), 野 (-no), 井 (-i), 藤 (-tō), 川 (-kawa, -gawa), 原 (-hara, -bara), 谷 (-ya), 木 (-ki, -gi), 口 (-kuchi, -guchi), 崎 (-saki, -zaki), 山 (-yama), 林 (-hayashi, -bayashi), 森 (-mori), etc.
For first names, some of them ends with 子 (-ko).--超龍對話 05:28, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

....

I feel like I need to put this somewhere. I suck. I don't even feel like writing my customized signature. --YoshisWorld 23:43, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Those romanizations...

You used Google Translate, amirite? I'll give you an advice - NEVER EVER add any romanization templates if all that you can do is copypasting the Kanji to a translation device. --Maxim 20:55, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Eh...I don't know what to say. Just...don't judge me, thanks. --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 21:04, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm not judging you at all. I have yet to master the Japanese language but I can recognize typical Google Translate gibberish. --Maxim 22:00, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for being...a bit upset, 'cuz I was when I wrote that. Anyway...Anyway, I used to use Google Translate, but now I don't. --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 22:02, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Romanizations

It seems that a few weeks back, you had been having some troubles with romanization templates. I have to ask, do you have any formal/personal background in translating Chinese & Japanese names or have you just been using mechanical translator tools without any formal understanding of these names? If it's the latter, I'd highly suggest that you not work on romanization templates in the future until you have some formal understanding of these names. While your attempt to assist is greatly appreciated, it would be best to not have the templates made rather than have them incorrect. Thanks for your time & sorry I have to be such a bummer ^^; - Kogoro - Talk to me - 20:10, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Well, I do know some, but I have a long way to go to master the writing. I haven't been working on romanization templates for a long time since I want to master it first. I don't want to fill Bulba with rubbish. --☆ヨッシ の世界☆ 20:59, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
