A lot of users adapt this template to suit their needs. You should try that. —darklordtrom 22:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Revision history of Pokémon

May i ask what the revision of this page at 20:12, 1 January 2010 said? i was probably some horrible profanity, but im just dying to know. thank you, Shiny Pika 22:01, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

No, you may not. The purpose of hiding the revision history is so that no one can see it. —darklordtrom 22:03, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

The 'Canonity' of The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide

Hello Trom. (as you prefer to be called that) Taking Zesty Cactus's advice, I ask you, (as you are an administrator) if statements or clarifications provided by The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide can be considered canon (and thus proper to use for species pages), or should be designated to Trivia portions. As an example, it has been known by multiple Pokédex entries that Butterfree possesses a superior ability to locate flower nectar, however, exactly how Butterfree does this has not been hinted at. The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide says "Butterfree loves flower nectar and can locate fields of flowers just by smell" which would imply that Butterfree uses a sense of smell to locate the flowers or that Butterfree is alerted to the flowers by their smell (instead of by ultraviolet light, as I think bees do, for example, or other factors). What do you think about this? Steph 04:42, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

I think we have information from similar sources, so yes? For the record, butterflies do have a very good sense of smell, so this wouldn't be too far out of left field. —darklordtrom 07:59, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Eh

For this, I only did that because Deth had already taken it off. And I'm still thinking that when it says December, that it means of 2008. I've been doing that a lot lately. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:26, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

I thought that was the case. Didn't see that deth had done anything but that's alright. Something needs to be done about those PMD teams, though. They are of some importance to the plot, I gather (not that I've played), so they do need a mention somewhere. —darklordtrom 04:46, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion

Wouldn't it be better to place something like {{bad picture}}'s "Reason: Not specified" in {{incomplete}}, so that we wouldn't have to use <!-- --> when we have specific reasons? tc²₆tc26 06:39, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Done. It's purely optional, but of course preferred. —darklordtrom 06:48, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

RE: Your Name

Hey. Just read your message. The name was aimed at the minisprite of glitch Pokemon in G3, but if you must, just change it to the usual name I sign up with on forums: Mr. PBJ. Thanks.

Nicknames

When a trainer has nicknamed their pokemon, like with Misty and Daisy's Caserin and Luverin, shouldn't their names be specified with the species's name in parenthesis? ex: Luverin (Luvdisc)? AuraGaurdian 23:07, 18 January 2010 (UTC) Phew, that was a close one. Almost forgot!

Where are you talking about? On the Pokémon's article, in other articles, or in the article name? —darklordtrom 07:12, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
In the trainer's article, where it lists their pokemon... AuraGaurdian 23:57, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Nothing important

But what's wrong with the hyphens? I used them grammatically correct, and me liek them! =P MaverickNate 20:07, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Actually, no. Hyphens join together two words. Ever had a kid in your class called Ann-Marie? If you want to use dashes to separate two parts of a sentence, you should have used a space, then an &endash; (on either side) or an —. I think the parenthesis look more professional. —darklordtrom 20:20, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I did mean to say dash, I erroneously use the words dash and hyphen when speaking about the same thing*. But you are also incorrect in something. You do not use spaces around dashes. They go right after the previous word, and directly before the preceding one. MaverickNate 22:18, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, it appears you're almost right. Regardless, the larger emdash should have been used, as this dash is used for separating a parenthetical thought; the small endash is generally used as a joiner. If used parenthetically, then it does require a space. (All this brought to you by Wikipedia). —darklordtrom 07:18, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Pah! wikipedia has outdated information since the MLA format for everything was changed in 2009. MaverickNate 23:55, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Or maybe it's different for American English. Who knows? I just know that I'm right too. MaverickNate

Quick Legal Question

I notice that you're being asked a lot of questions, and you were kind enough to help with my user page problem. I have a legal question: I am soon going to redesign my user page and I wish to licence my writing under a mere CC-BY licence (rather than the CC-BY-NC-SA licence that the rest of the site follows). Given that the writing will be my own, would you generally frown upon this, or grudgingly accept it and move on? Cjcurry 12:51, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

From what I see, this only removes the share-alike aspect. This makes me think you want to use the same content on two or more different wikis. I asked the Echidna about this; he replied: "You wanna use the same one across any number of wikis, go for it. Just don't go jacking our coding to do it." So basically we don't think there's a need for another license; you have permission to crosswiki (if that's what you're going for). —darklordtrom 21:20, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey Trom...

...long time no see. Listen, I had an idea today that we could maybe include fossils into the evobox template. I realized that {{Evobox/Setup}} already works fine with them and was able to make really tiny adjustments to the basic template at the bottom ofthis page to incorporate it. I was wondering if you could maybe run it by the higher-ups and see if we can make it official.
P.S. I still have some ideas for Volbeat, Illumise, Manaphy and Phione but I was told last time that a certain monotreme "already had plans". If it's as far on the back-burner for him as I think it is, could you inquire if I could do that too before you update the template. Thanks, MisterE13 06:04, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't speak evobox, but I've waved it under the monotreme's nose. —darklordtrom 22:38, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

sandbox

Am I able to start a article of pokemon in nz in my sandbox.Like you said you might do after your exams. Thanks --Solid! 07:43, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, go for it. I haven't had as much time as I'd expected. —darklordtrom 11:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Cool.I will base it off the pokemon in canada article or similar but relation to nz obvisously.Would that be a good way to start?--Solid! 01:39, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. —darklordtrom 06:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Ive started it.Its in early stages of info editing.I hopes it gonna work seeing as its the only article that has english as it's only launguage for the pokemon dubs.Feel free to chip in if you have time. Thanks --Solid! 08:01, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Why did you delete that?

Why did you delete the synopsis from AG030? I had written that after watching the show. Why is it not original? Mudkipluvr4ever 06:21, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
