Why do you guys keep filling this thing up so fast? TTEchidna 00:20, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I think you should protect Pluto, Handsome, and the Ruined World's supposed English names as well, in case someone makes a duplicate page.--The Kkllnnator カメックス 21:44, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Got it. TTEchidna 21:56, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

So... much... wikicode...

I went to "view source" as recommended, but when I started tweaking it on my page, I was utterly overwhelmed by all of that code. You must be a master of code or something, because I couldn't understand much of that wikicode. Do you at least know anyone with a... simpler calendar? --SharKing ((Talk to the King!)) 12:42, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

P.S.: Your Pokémon of the Day is Bulbasaur. Therefore, I declare today, December 10, Bulbapedia Day!
December 10th is Bulbagarden's anniversary. And a simple calendar is just the time parser function: November 28, 2023. Check more of them out over at the meta-wiki. TTEchidna 20:08, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that's very nice to make it say "insane" if used on a page with the name "Guardian". I'd like you to remove it. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 20:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

So...I see other users are following my footsteps in creating secret exactly WHY can't I (the creator of secret pages) have one myself? And then you guys made a rule that we can't have Friend Pages...well, let me tell you: I named it as a Friend page as a title for the content on my's not an ACTUAL friend page if you guys actually taken a's nothing different than that of Dragonbeastx and's not fair.--Tavisource 05:16, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

if you bothered to look, i deleted his secret page. -- MAGNEDETH 05:21, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
so exactly WHY can't we do this? It doesn't hurt anyone....hmm...according to the text in my welcoming template, it's allowed...what's the diff between this and other pages other users have like fake pokemon pages, dub title prediction pages...what's the diff?--Tavisource 05:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
It's the fact that EVERYONE IS EDITING IT. Unlike regular userpages, these pages permit ANYONE to edit it. In one day, let's say TTE makes one. One day. Somewhere near 47 hits. Compare that to a regular page, which would only be 3 a day as only one user is editing it. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 06:09, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

eps articles

Should we delete all those hidden characters that didn't appear after the ep had aired? Are they really necessary?-Billy4b2004 05:28, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

As long as the episode aired already in BOTH Japan and U.S. (to be safe of dub changes), I guess it's fine...yes, I know, you weren't talking to me.--Tavisource 05:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

I forgot to ask before… what exactly do Platinum updates pertain to? Bulbapedian - Talk 18:05, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Updates and changes relating to the version, such as PokéDex entries, movesets, images, changes or additions to routes, towns and the such, the story, new characters, extras, etc. just like when Emerald came out after R/S     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 23:45, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

A question about fe/male-only Pokémon pages

I have a question about fe/male-only Pokémon pages. Should we replace the uses of "it" to "he" or "she", and the uses of "its" to "his" or "her", depending on which gender they can only be? After all, if they can only be one gender, the article should reflect that in all text that mentions the Pokémon. Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 22:57 12/11/2008

Yeah, that's cool. TTEchidna 23:03, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Could you remove this revision from my userpage history? It's bad for my non-existent reputation.--The Kkllnnator サンタクロース 21:24, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

In your opinion...what would you classify as trivia? to me, trivia is something that is interesting and/or something you might not have known/might not have thought about before. In Lugia's, Ho-Oh's, and Celebi's trivia sections, there's something mentioning that there has been only 2 other Pokemon of that same type as the legendary Pokemon and there hasn't been any since. Wouldn't you consider that trivia? Another user doesn't and keeps deleting it from those pages. I just wanted to know what your opinion was on that so it can be settled. thanks. --いぬみみ 04:33, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

I dunno. It's kind of interesting, I suppose. TTEchidna 05:10, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Trainer template

Hey TTEchidna, are you the one who created the Trainer template, the template that creates a table list of trainers and their Pokémon info? Or was that Kogoro?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 07:09, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Which one? The one on Brock's page? TTEchidna 07:23, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
It really doesn't matter, since most templates relating to trainers were created by TTE. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 11:20, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I see. Well the one in question is the one used on Route 204, and the one in Kogoro's sandbox. And the one I wrote a tut on using, here. I don't actually know who created it, and who's currently managing it, but I'd like to help with it. Such as perhaps adding a type and exp column.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 15:52, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I like that tutorial. Yeah, I made that template (like everything else). Adding the exp. and types might prove difficult, but I'm open to it if you can sandbox it together. TTEchidna 00:30, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Sweet.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 07:38, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I asked a question on one of your subpages, it seems that people notice them worse than when they are put on their direct talk pages. The question is at User talk:TTEchidna/Sprites. Also, there is an open question both here and here, so it'd be nice if somebody answered them as well. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 20:15, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, we don't get new messages for comments on our other subtalks. TTEchidna 00:13, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for resolving the MoS and Help cases! I'd also have an offer: I could take the control of the sprite page and remove the sprites that are already OK, so it'd be less resource-intensive. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 00:57, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Go for it. TTEchidna 01:17, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Another question. Anime or animé? ht14 05:33, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
No accent. TTEchidna 05:42, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Eh...why not? Serebii has that... ht14 12:34, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Harder for most of the people to remember when typing, "anime" isn't wrong, a hell of editing to change all "anime"s to "animé"s, we're not Serebii. Ya need more reasons? UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 12:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
No, no. As the title shown, just asking... ht14 12:39, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... slight problem

Rightio, I managed to recode the Trainerentry template (haven't saved it yet though) so it only uses Trainerentry/1 repeatedly with nested switches, however, I've found that I don't think it's possible to make a new row in a switch outcome as there's a | confliction. I've tried perhaps using <tr> instead, or containing it in quotations, but to no avail; anything after the = just appears as text. I'm probably making it sound confusing, here's the situation:

...{{#switch: {{{5|6}}}|1|2|3|4|5|6|= |- {{Trainerentry/1...

Basically trying to put a new row in the outcome, but of course, the | is conflicting, and treating it as it would in the switch, thus nothing is outputted.

The only way that I can think of to solve this is by making a template simply containing |- in it and using it there; Template:tr perhaps... though it's pretty much borderline pointless, and only necessary here. Any ideas?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 08:06, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Wait what? TTEchidna 08:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
There's a {{!}}template, which inserts a pipe without breaking the template. Perhaps that's what you're looking for. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 09:15, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Bingo. Thanks Jioruji, I think that'll work. Ha, I always wondered what that template was for. Sorry TTE, I probably still didn't make it clear enough xD.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 10:07, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

And... success.

Done. You can delete the other Trainerentry/# templates, just keep Trainerentry/1, cos that's the only one that's needed. Time to start on the exp ^_^     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 11:32, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Heal Ball.... use this: Image:HealthballDP.png ht14 13:26, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry? I'm not sure where the relevance of that came from >_>, replied to the wrong comment?
Alright, and exp column is finally over and done with! I've put the switch (which took ahelluvalong time pX), formula expression and everything in Template:Trainerexp and implemented it into Trainerentry/1. Do a quick glance over them if you want, but I'm pretty sure everything should be fine. Hmm, so what to do next?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 16:38, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Wait what. Wha? You redid it so that none besides 1 needs to be there? TTEchidna 22:11, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Basically the original template had to choose from 6 different separate party templates when it came to the number of Pokémon to display, so if '4' was put in for the number of Pokémon in party, then the template would include Trainerentry/4, and this meant that to edit Trainerentry/1, you would have to edit all of them, which I found rather annoying, so I redid the original so that it only uses Trainerentry/1, cept in nested switches. So now you can delete the other Trainerentry/# ones, and editing it will be a lot easier.    -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 22:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
And it works? And it's been implemented so that no page uses the other ones anymore? TTEchidna 22:56, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Too right. I just checked using the WhatLinksHere tool. No other pages link to Trainerentry/2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. Trainerentry/1 is the only one being used. And it works fine. So, any other ideas? Do you reckon there should be something added to show Type? Like maybe the background of the row, or perhaps those small word icons.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 01:14, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
No icons... we get enough image use. Smalltagging the {{typecolor}} template works just the same. And don't use anisprites except in rare instances. They slow down some browsers, especially when used more than, say, six times per page. TTEchidna 01:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough. By the way, once you protect the templates, I won't be able to edit them unfortunately.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 04:38, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry about that. Those'll be added eventually if we can. They'd have to be manually entered, though, so an overhaul = not good. We'll see about it after USPt comes out, before any GSDS. TTEchidna 04:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
True that. Though how about graphic-wise, I've seen that there's been noticeable css changes to certain templates lately, such as the one for Base Stats. Perhaps making the Trainer table take a similar appearance to the party views in the games would be a good idea in the future? Or is it better to just keep things simple, considering browser speeds/server clutter... sorry if I'm sounding too adventurous, I'm used to making websites etc xD.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 05:08, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
What, you mean like the big ones or... the six-party view from DP's Pokémon screen? It'd be interesting to try, but I dunno how small we could make it. TTEchidna 07:11, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by the big ones, neither have I seen what it looks like on DP (yes I'm a tad behind :P) but yeah, like the Pokémon view on FRLG which is reasonably sized already. Just looking at all that emptiness in the template table, especially when it's only showing one Pokémon, it gets to me lmao. I'll probably design something after my todo list is empty.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 07:54, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I mean the ones like on Brock's page. And "what it looks like on DP" is essentially...
196 ESPEON ♂
If we did anything like that it'd be static MSes, and the HP bar would be replaced by the types. And the background wouldn't be blue. TTEchidna 10:13, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Ahh, I get what you mean by big. Yeah, I wager sticking with the FRLG view would be best. It keeps the simple 6 rows, compact and easier for graphics.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 14:22, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, just wanted to tell you to change the Heal Ball sprite...I'm sure you know how to do that... ht14 04:07, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I've been meaning to ask, but I put it off for so long. How exactly do you detect whether or not a new user is just a sockpuppet? SharKingHo ho ho! 14:27, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Checkusers can detect IP addresses, which are *usually* fixed sets of numbers given out by your computer while it's on a hentai site on the Internet. It's like a telephone number, just more awkward and cannot be dialed. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 15:02, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Probably because Maddie Blaustein died recently. IIMarckus 00:57, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, some users might decide to edit that article to add some details about the fact that Meowth's most notable voice actor has passed away, but that doesn't belong there. It belongs in Maddie's article, which I've already amended. Cipher (Talk) 01:04, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey, TTEchidna, I am ready and willing to nominate Tavisource for an admin. Byron Trivia

On Byron's page Jmath keeps deleting this: "In DP101 it was revealed that he was defeated by Jun"

I keep adding it back because I think it is valid and other gym leaders, such as Fantina have this kind of info on their pages. Jmath keeps saying that it can't be on their because he didn't appear. Why can't people ever wait for when we say we want to do this. Wait for the damn Japanese names to be filled in, because many of those are actual moves mistranslated as something else. Castform movelist

I noticed that Wormadam has a special template for its movelists, should Castform get one to or are its forms not permanent enough?--MisterE13 14:49, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Castform's actual moveset does not differ between forms. For example, it learns Water Gun, Ember, and Powder Snow at level 10 regardless of which form it's in at the time (and it learns all three). In this respect, it's more akin to Unown (i.e. A and R have the same movepool), Spinda (like the programmers could program in more than 4 billion different movesets anyway), Shellos/Gastrodon (West and East have the same movepool), and Giratina (the Another Form and Origin Form share a movepool) than to Deoxys (Normal Form, Attack Form, Defense Form, and Speed Form have different movepools), Wormadam (the Grass, Ground, and Steel-type forms have different movepools), and Shaymin (the Land Form and Sky Form have different movepools). --Shiningpikablu252 17:17, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Castform doesn't have permanent forms, so no need to list them all. It'd be like listing Ditto for all 17 types. Only reason Arceus and Shaymin get it is because their forms are semipermanent, while Wormadam's is permanent. If West Sea and East Sea Gastrodon had different types, they'd get the same treatment. TTEchidna 00:34, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Figured it was something like that. Thought I'd double check though.--MisterE13 00:56, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

quick question

Is it against the rules to delete stuff from my talk page? --いぬみみ 23:20, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes. Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 23:23 12/17/2008

I've been working on a MediaWiki extension that determines TCM. It adds a Special: page that lets you specify month and namespaces, and it spits a list. Can we try it here? — Laoris (Blah) 00:45, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Huh. Really? I suppose I'll talk to those who know how to add functionality about it. TTEchidna 00:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok, just let me know. I can send over the code for inspection. Btw, I wasn't quite sure what the rules for TCM were, so I just made it count all edits in specified namespaces. — Laoris (Blah) 00:54, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
As long as you can specify JUST Main... TTEchidna 00:57, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, you can. Don't template edits count too though? — Laoris (Blah) 01:00, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Nope. Does it let you specify day though? TTEchidna 01:05, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Just month and year, but I can add whatever functionality is needed. — Laoris (Blah) 01:06, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
We did it by day before... TTEchidna 01:07, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

I've made 2 edits to the User: name space today. However, 1 of them was fixing a template on someone's page. Since it was fixing something, does it count toward the daily amount of edits I can make to the User: name space? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 00:58 12/18/2008

No. TTEchidna 00:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
What about replacing an image when the replaced one is to be deleted? Does an edit like that count towards the limit? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 20:46 12/21/2008
Of course not; switching out duplicate files is perfectly fine, and they don't count towards total. MaverickNate 20:50, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
One last question. What about taking stuff out of the wanted pages? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 03:36 12/22/2008

Evobox pictures

I thought it would be a good idea to put images into evoboxes. For example, I put a Remoraid menusprite into the Mantyke/Mantine one. I actually got the idea from the Nincada/Ninjask/Shedinja one. I remeber seeing on a subpage of yours once that you had a similar idea. What do you think of it now?--MisterE13 02:20, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm kinda eh on the idea. It's only really on Shedinja's because otherwise it's like "hey why all the extra space?" TTEchidna 02:22, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Some things are a little iffy. Like maxed Beauty, I put the Blue Scarf but some people didn't like it. There's also Happiness, Burmy Cloak, Trade. Plus Rare Candies would be annoying to put on every page. It might all look good if we can do it well.--MisterE13 02:29, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Burmy's cloak is set. But thanks for reminding me to fix the Burmy and Mothim evoboxes... I gotta do that soon. Eevee too... The problem is I don't want the big nasty chart. TTEchidna 02:34, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that page a while ago, I thought about something for Burmy:
W(S) B(S) M B(T) B(T)

For Wormadam, it would be the same just without the Mothim.--MisterE13 02:42, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Wormadam's got her code. TTEchidna 02:45, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
We really should also add the Babys' Incenses.--MisterE13 02:47, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Originally planned; may be implemented... Might require a LOT of effort though... like, say, updating EVERY entry... TTEchidna 02:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Not necessarilly on the evolutions' pages, just the babys'.--MisterE13 02:50, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
If we put them on the babies pages, might as well be on the evolutions'. TTEchidna 02:55, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
So, do we try the images, at least start with the easy stuff (like Rare Candies and items) then move on to the more complicated stuff?--MisterE13 02:57, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Eh, not yet. TTEchidna 03:02, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Quick question

Do the movie characters (humans) fall under the category of characters of the day?--Diby 06:02, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Overglorified ones, yes, but they fall under movie characters, since they're in the hour and a half long fillers we call movies. TTEchidna 06:05, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Ariados Sprite Issue

I'm afraid I've hit a big snag when it came to starting up the project to properly redirect all of the 3f sprites to 3r for those introduced outside Generation I (save Teddiursa and Deoxys). The Pokémon in question is Ariados. Chocolate had this "bright idea" of making the 3r a redirect to the file at 3f (the file should be at the 3r, the 3f should be the redirect); no doubt due to Chocolate's actions, attempts to rectify the issue caused problems (read: errors) when trying to upload the file to the 3r position where it belonged. I had no choice but to restore things to the way they had been (file at what should be the redirect, redirect at what should be the file) as a result. Can you help me with this issue? If you can't, I don't really know what to do...--Shiningpikablu252 17:16, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

The problem with uploading to file to the proper name isn't from an improper upload & redirect. Something is affecting all uploading. We just have to wait for whatever is causing it to be fixed, then the sprite issue can be rectified. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:26, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

It's... wiki stuff. Something we can do to prevent pages from being made. TTEchidna 04:04, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Should we use rowspans whenever possible? Because The dark lord trombonator is repeatedly removing the rowspans from the table on one-hit knockout move. I find repeating stuff in a table to be a bad idea whenever it's possible not to repeat it, and rowspans negate repeation. So, should we use rowspans for stuff like that? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 20:50 12/20/2008

Eh, sometimes they're a bad idea. TTEchidna 00:39, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Not to be rude, but...

Do we officially know that the glowing thing that Dialga, Palkia and Giratina attacked in the 12th movie trailer is Arceus? I guess it is obvious, but... what about the text below the character palette? I also noticed that in a split second at the end of one of the trailers they show what appears to be the lower half of Cresselia... パルキアJosh 22:26, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Screenshot? It was most definitely Arceus's arc, and I did put "possibly" in there. No doubt Arceus gets revealed in a month or so... TTEchidna 00:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Two edit requests

You probably noticed that the old Yellow .gif images are being replaced by new .png ones. I've gone through every sprite and fixed the image links. However, there are two protected pages I can't update the image in, and they are Template:Spr and Talk:Super Smash Bros. Brawl/Archive 2. Could you please go and fix them? Changing the extension is all you need to do. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 00:56, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that anyone is... yet. I may think about it again at some point, but first I have to both get a aPNG-compatible image editor AND to know the most efficient and fastest way to do it. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 01:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Open GIMP, export each layer of the gif as a png, then put them together in an animated png with the same time delays. And APNG editor is a Firefox extension. TTEchidna 01:11, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I didn't know that GIMP can edit them :P I might try to do them some day when I have enough time. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 01:14, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to burst in on the conversation, but how do you know if a sprite is facing the wrong way? Also I may be able to do some of the animated transparent-ising if you want. --Spriteit 01:17, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
How do you know? Pretty much you just compare it to the sprites in the Pokédex in the game. You usually only need one of them, though, because usually the Pokémon's facing to the left (in battle). TTEchidna 01:18, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Image renaming

Is it possible to rename images while they're already on the Archives or would one have to re-upload them?--MisterE13 22:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

One would have to re-upload it with the desired name. Bulbapedian - Talk 22:35, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
The latter. Unfortunately, there's no rename option on the archives. Re-upload and make sure to tag the old one for deletion. --ニョロトノ666 22:36, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, in that case, it doesn't look like I'll be able to change the names of images. The only Imagey file that I can save them into is Paint and that gives them a weird blackish background which means that I have to ask someone else to make it transparent. So, unless it's possible to change things on the Archives to rename images, I'm asking someone to rename the Unown sprites.--MisterE13 03:38, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

A question regarding sprites

Are the Unown sprites from the second generation on right filenames? To me it seems pretty odd that the A Unown is at a:Image:Spr 2g 201.png and a:Image:Spr 2s 201.png, but all the other ones are with the name Image:Spr 2gs 201-?.png. This would otherwise be logical, but why do we then use redirects in the FRLG sprites instead? I'd suggest we move the sprites out of the 2gs-type name to 2g and make the 2s ones to be redirects to them. What do you think? UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

I really don't think they are correct. I think that the first ones of each generation were just uploaded uder the right filename just with no discretion over the letter. After that, I think they were all uploaded kinda' screwy.--MisterE13 19:50, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
No, the gs names are not correct. It should be at Spr 2g 201-A.png, and so on, with Spr 2s 201-A.png and so on redirected to the Gold sprites. However, the first sprite uploaded at Spr 2g 201.png, that's just so we have a default. TTEchidna 20:08, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'll make 'em transparent and upload them onto the correct name, and fix all possible links to gs ones in the mainspace, then the gs ones can be removed. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 20:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
All links to old gs-name images are now removed and the new sprites have been uploaded + Spr 2s 201-X.png sprites redirected to 2g ones. The gs ones can therefore now be removed. Edit: Kogoro took the deletion part, no need to worry about it anymore. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 22:05, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Gen II is still missing most of Crystal Unowns, but GS Unowns are all there (normal and shiny) as well as Gen II backsprites (though they need to be transparified). Gen III has all normal backsprites, but almost no frontsprites or shiny backsprites at all. As for Gen IV, there are only sprites for A form + shiny ! frontsprite. I'm Charitwo, bureaucrat from the Wikia Pokémon wiki, I'd like to discuss this community dispute with you. You can either contact me on AIM (Sean18z), or on IRC --Charitwo 23:23, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Gotcha. TTEchidna 03:41, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

You pissed at me? --ニョロトノ666 23:29, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Nah. TTEchidna 00:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

29th September

The protection of Flint's page expires on... 29th September 2009? Are you serious? What's with all that protecting madness among Bulbapedia Admins? --Maxim 08:28, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Only the move protection so we have no more bullcrap wars. By then it's likely there'll be an episode featuring the guy AND it'll have been dubbed. After all, I'd bet Ash gets to Sunyshore by DP130, which is less than 20 weeks off. TTEchidna 08:32, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Nevermind. I just noticed it's only a move-protection. Sorry. However, doesn't that protecting madness also annoy you? I mean... Blocking the page TWO WEEKS before the airing episode just because of gun-jumpers (with the said gun-jumper being ME since I'm the one who brought the dub names for 5 characters before the airings from my friend's sources)? The reasons admins use to block pages are sometimes really poor. They didn't block so much in the past and it was better. Excessive protecting only numbs the work here. I'm awaiting major admin decission here. --Again me, Maxim 08:35, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Eh, we just want to be safe. Don't wanna have to move it around six times and have to delete a bunch of redirects. TTEchidna 08:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Big Problem

Okay, I'm currently redirect japanese script.... and 'サトシのムクバード' leads to Staravia, But yet again, Heracross has the same name as "サトシのムクバード" how should I do this...--Force Fire talk 08:41, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

...uhm. Someone f'd up. Named Heracross as Mukubird in the infobox. WAY TO GO. TTEchidna 08:43, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Unown artwork

tc26 added some artwork for the Unown showing all the letter ones. Since we're in the process of making it all semi-random, should it be chopped up to only show one at a time?--MisterE13 16:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

What's the file? TTEchidna 00:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Eww. Too small and too artifacted to be used in the infobox... TTEchidna 02:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Artifacted?--MisterE13 04:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Crappy quality. TTEchidna 04:57, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
So, we just keep them all as is?--MisterE13 04:59, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
The Sugimori art's staying the F. TTEchidna 05:48, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
OK, I did it.

I am wondering if you are judging for the Fanfic contest. If so, then if you see my post there then it was put there by help from DCM-another user. So it is my work, and he was helping me out. Pyles 20:43, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Me? Uhm, well I wasn't asked to. So I dunno. TTEchidna 00:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

No joke. I totally support GSDS! I didn't have the chance to play GS, and from what I'm watching on you tube, it's awesome! GSDS would give ME the chance to experience Johto and Kanto on the DS, with, of course, better quality, sound and everything! You are awesome! Especially YOUR GSDS page! Almost like the bulbapedia gold silver remake page! Go GSDS! It's TOTALLY coming! Why give out so many GS mentions and leave it in the DP game coding. (The two "hacked" Chikorita) Go GSDS!--DRAGONBEASTX 21:41, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Well I have a hacked Typhlosion (all legit moves and IVs) from Johto. TTEchidna 00:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Two quick questions

  1. What is subst: mean?
  2. What does the patrol log for?--The Kkllnnator サンタクロース 00:23, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
subst just takes the code of a template and places it where the template is. For example, using this template ({{color}}) is easy, but suppose you want to add onto it later on, like making a moz roundycorner border. You could then do this, which takes the code of the template and implements it as if it were typed. It's how we hardcode the welcome into a new user's page, rather than keeping it as a template and causing huge server stress any time it's added to. TTEchidna 00:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
As for the patrol log? Eh, basically says which admin looked at what page. TTEchidna 00:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I words it badly: is there anything that subst: stands for in particular?--The Kkllnnator サンタクロース 02:52, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
…subst…itute. TTEchidna 02:52, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for finding out, Kkllnn. --Bulbapedian - Talk 03:08, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
No problem.--The Kkllnnator サンタクロース 03:11, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Image Removal

I'm... no longer satisfied with my alternative sprite.

Also, I need an open image, so could you delete it?

Merry Christmas Eve! SharKingHo ho ho! 12:03, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

If you wanted to, you could stick a delete tag on it. TTEchidna 22:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

I could use your wizardry

I'm trying to figure out how to get the List of Pokémon by anime debut to be chronologically sorted. Any ideas? --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 08:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

That's the issue with the sortkeys... it doesn't know that it goes EP-AG-DP, so... blah. I honestly don't know. You could put, commented out, , where ### is the epicode for the episode disregarding the series change (AKA, AG epicode plus 274, DP epicode plus 466), and that ought to work right. Just make sure that the commented out stuff is before the brackets for the episode link. TTEchidna 09:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, I assume it was you who finally got me into the administrative areas of the forums? If so, thanks! --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 00:53, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
I think... maybe... I don't do power elevation on the forums, so it may have been influenced by me but not directly me. TTEchidna 01:26, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, I'm just wondering if you'd want me to keep this category. If not, I'll quickly remove and request delete... Pokémon characters ht14 13:09, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

...hmmm... It seems like it'd better be a supercategory that Anime characters (Pokémon) and others would fall into. TTEchidna 21:20, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Buizel Eye-Error

Do you know about the Buizel Water Gun eye color "error" that has been happening lately? It happened again in today's episode, so I'm starting to think it can't be an error. I want to know your opinion before anyone tries to remove or edit them. --HoennMaster 00:07, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Today's episode being DP108? Perhaps it can be mentioned instead on Buizel's and Water Gun's pages. TTEchidna 00:14, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Version-exclusive Pokémon

I think that the page above should be moved to "Version-excluded Pokémon". Here's why: If the title is "Version-exclusive Pokémon", people are gonna continue to do stuff such as changing Vulpix and Ninetales to Blue when they should be (and are) under Red. If we changed the page title, it'd prevent people from doing stuff like that. So, whadda ya say? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 02:28 12/26/2008

No. I suggest an alternate course of action: We give anyone who does that a one-day block. Oh, and stop bothering TTE about everything. --ニョロトノ666 02:33, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
But if we moved the page, that wouldn't be necessary. And Poli, you seem to not like me that much anymore. Why? Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 02:34 12/26/2008
Actually, that's a fair idea. It has a chance of getting people to take another look. They can scroll past bright red warning messages, but the title of the page is more persistent. I'd suggest something else, though; "excluded" is too close to "exclusive", so some people might not notice the difference. Anything that helps prevent conflict is worth considering. --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 02:40, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes it would because some MORONS would STILL not get it. They manage to miss the BIG BOLD TEXT IN RED that says "THESE ARE WHAT'S NOT AVAILABLE". If you can't see THAT, you can't see the title.
I did make the List of Pokémon by in-game availability, however, which functions just in the same way. TTEchidna 02:41, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
But if we moved the page, then that would be like giving in to the people lacking basic reading skills who keep editing the page. And no, I have no issue with you. Speaking of which, you're like the third person to bring that up. Maybe I need to change my demeanor? --ニョロトノ666 02:42, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
"Giving in?" There's a bad attitude for Wiki editing if I ever heard one. Also, "yes it would" what, exactly? --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 02:45, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
The general guidelines of Wiki editing do not apply to people who cannot or refuse to read what they're editing. --ニョロトノ666 02:51, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
It, of course, refers to the notice in big, bold, red letters. Title's no more persistent than that. TTEchidna 05:11, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Italic indicates a move that gets STAB only from an evolution of this Pokémon.

Does it include pre-evolutions? Silly question I know, but some Pokémon's learnsets have their pre-evolve's STAB moves italicized in their pages, like Drapion's. - unsigned comment from Kevzo8 (talkcontribs)

They ought not have their prevolutions' moves italic'd, since to an evolved Pokémon, that STAB will not matter at any future time. TTEchidna 02:40, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay. Just wanted clear that before I edit.--Kevzo8 02:50, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
How about Arceus? Arceus doesn't evolve, but its name on the move pages are italicized. (unless holding a plate is considered as an evolution) --Kevzo8 02:56, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Formes are considered evolutions for the purpose of listing moves.--RexRacer -talk 02:57, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Then it should be worded differently... ht14 02:58, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Or maybe it should be noted on alternate formes' page.--Kevzo8 03:05, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Good idea, since it would be silly to re-word the note on every page if it's only going to apply to one or two pages. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 04:06, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
