May I ask you?

On the main series regions articles, why did you remove each region's location in correlation with the other regions in the intro of each article? I think that info should be there. ZMT123 04:50, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Because it's speculation. Aside from Kanto and Johto, which are connected, there's no official source for the locations of those regions in relation to one another. Werdnae (talk) 04:36, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Actually, it is confirmed that Kanto and Johto are south and southwest (Johto being southwest) of Sinnoh. In the radio in HGSS, it refers to Sinnoh as "the great land to the north". ZMT123 04:50, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Ah, I see, in Sinnoh Sound. I was not aware of that. I'll that back into the articles then, thanks. It is generally better to provide the source in cases like this, so I'll put it in the articles. --SnorlaxMonster 07:43, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

?

Why did you delete my outdated section template in the sandbox? Mothim will rule all!-Wildgoose (and Dustox will too!) 15:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

You weren't doing anything there. You just pasted raw template code (minus the category). The sandbox is meant for testing templates; if you aren't testing anything, there is no need to use it. --SnorlaxMonster 15:15, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

TM34 (glitch Pokémon)

Please delete this, it doesn't exist. Thanks - unsigned comment from Rsrdaman (talkcontribs)

Thanks, although your ALLCAPS edit summary drew my attention to it anyway. However, I'm going to expand the article of the actual glitch Pokémon at Hex EB in Yellow before I do delete it, since it seems to be using some of its info. --SnorlaxMonster 05:54, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. When I saw that page I knew it was wrong immediately, data was from mixed sources, including the picture, I even tested it out on my Yellow version and knew that there was no possible way for it be be right. Sorry for being inactive for so long. I was sick as hell. Also, Is there anything recent to the Glitch area of Bulbapedia requireing any help with? --×Rsrdaman× 02:51, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Speed

Which Pokémon moves first when they have both the same Speed and the priority of attacks? (Eg. Kyogre vs. Giratina, they have the same base Speed, so it's not that unlikely). Is it random? Marked +-+-+ 14:32, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Yes. --SnorlaxMonster 14:35, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Austrian event

No problem, the distribution took place last year from September 22 until October 5.  – Ƨ h a d o w t w e a k e r 19:29, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Jimmy Zoppi

Please unprotect this. It's not fair to limit a page to admins forever. Also, I'm sorry about forgetting admin clearance when moving it, but what you did (protect it forever) is quite extreme. Now I know I do not have the power to boss you around, but please reconsider what you just did. サトシ 22:14, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Snorlax only protected it against moving. You are still welcome to edit the article, just not rename it. As Snorlax said, the protection will be lifted once a consensus on the title has been reached. —darklordtrom 04:19, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Rikako

When I was on the Rikako page, I noticed that she didn't have a dub name. Does Mrs. Mitchum count as a dub name as both her husband and daughter have Mitchum as the family name? PattyMan 23:50, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't know. I brought it up on the talk page. --SnorlaxMonster 09:11, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Consensus for Carter Cathcart

As of now, the poll is closed, and Carter Cathcart has the most votes. Therefore, the consensus has been reached. Now you can unprotect the move tab. サトシ 02:26, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon D/P/Pl Maps

Where did the overworld maps, like the ones in the info boxes of the Sinnoh Route 209 and Sinnoh Route 214 pages, come from? I'm guessing it was partially ripped with a specialized utility uploaded to a site. It could have been done by someone here that took the time to do a nice quality rip that was very time consuming but stopped after mid-way through. I tried looking on The Video Game Atlas and came up with nothing. I would like to see a replacement of that kind of quality for pages such as Sinnoh Route 210 and Sinnoh Route 213 and even pages such as Floaroma Meadow and Valor Lakefront. No more scans or snapshots.

If there is no way to know, I could help out any way I can. Just supply me with the right tools and I'll see what I can do!

I am playing through Pokémon Pearl Version for the first time just to correct for any errors along the way, using pages like that as a sort-of-guide (I have done a few edits along the way). --Wildgoosespeeder 05:18, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

The maps are a compilation of images of the route using manipulations to make them so that they are top down and trainerless. There isn't, as far as I'm aware, any utility for it. Just manual assembly of lots of screenshots. Werdnae (talk) 05:42, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Heh, I thought through ROM hacking, you can easily get map data. Plus your explanation could have one complication to retain neatness. The game is angled, giving the world a 3D-ish look compared to previous Pokémon games. This means jaggedness could occur during reassembly. --Wildgoosespeeder 07:58, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
That's why you need to find a code to manipulate the display angle so that it's top down. Werdnae (talk) 08:10, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, they would get an oblique view of it. However, I also know a fair number of Sinnoh images are (or were) scans from game guides. However, these are not preferred to the usual method. --SnorlaxMonster 07:45, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
OK, what is the code to disable the 3D? Is it Action Replay triggered or is it the "internal" cheat engine that DeSmuME uses? To save time, I would like the complete game save please, if possible! --Wildgoosespeeder 03:53, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I really have no idea. I've never done so myself. You're better off finding a map someone has uploaded, finding out who the uploader is and asking them. Also, can you please avoid talking about emulators here. --SnorlaxMonster 08:25, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Emulators are legal, ROMs are a controversial area. I understand that. US copyright law states somewhere you can have back-ups of media you own legal copies of as long as they stay personal, or something to that effect. Copyright law in other countries vary. If you don't want me talking about it further than that, OK then, no more out of me. --Wildgoosespeeder 19:28, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand that emulators by themselves are legal, but let me quote the first page of the Pokémon White manual:

Copying of any Nintendo game is illegal and is strictly prohibited by intellectual property laws. Back-up or archival copies are not authorised and are not necessary to protect your software.

Essentially, they are specifically forbidding you from making copies of the game, even for personal use, even if it was not illegal without it. So you were implying that you would be running a Pokémon game on an emulator, which would require you to have an illegal ROM. Regardless, it's better to be cautious. --SnorlaxMonster 02:04, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
They may hate it but legally they may have no power over certain cases no matter what they may say. They could just be saying that just to ward off most potential violators. It is really iffy of the real legality of it, meaning who has the authority to say what is legal and illegal. Like I said, it's a very controversial topic. Best advice I have is if you really want ROMs, just download the ones you already own legal copies of. Don't distribute because that is infringement. People tend to do the opposite of those two guidelines and that is definitely illegal. --Wildgoosespeeder 05:58, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Random Pokémon

Hi,,,, I am really sorry that I copied the Random Pokémon stuff from you page without your permission. But I was so excited I created a Random Generation 1 pokemon tab here....Jaison Clinton Castelino 16:03, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Don't worry about it, I don't mind. --SnorlaxMonster 07:45, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Do You Always edit the Random pokemon stuff ?......Mine as too ,,,,,otherwise it will say the same Pokémon for ages....--Jaison Clinton Castelino 15:46, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
No, I don't; it is automated. What you have is probably a caching issue—try hard refreshing the page (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, don't know about other OSes) or purging the site's cache (click the clock). --SnorlaxMonster 06:52, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you again, How is the Talk page adaption ?--Jaison Clinton Castelino 09:19, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Honestly, I don' like it. Putting random colors all over you talk page is not a good idea. For example, currently it is a blinding pink that makes reading your talk page very annoying. --SnorlaxMonster 10:37, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Description template.

According to this, Amnesia description doesn't differ in FireRed/LeafGreen (and it has to be true, since this covers up in 100% with what you entered into Splash's description), but there is no RSEFRLG, only RSE and FRLG. Marked +-+-+ 12:42, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Checked, it's true. Also, wtf GameFreak. ._.. Are you trying to make our life hard? Meh, okay... not changing between RSEFRLG is okay, since it's the same generation, and Gen IV/V is exception (since by that time there is enough time for description, and differs only in few cases like Aerial Ace), but this? This is pretty... strange, and happens to be true as well. Marked +-+-+ 13:06, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Forgot to say that there are moves that have the same description for both Stadium games, like Absorb. Checking Bide reminded me of that (since that move seems to also have the same description in both Stadium games). Marked +-+-+ 11:43, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Aaaand another. Meh. Marked +-+-+ 12:50, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Isamu "Red" Akai

On Isamu Akai's or Red's talk page, did he really have Venusaur and some of the other Pokémon? I left a message on that talk page two months ago but nobody responded. The same applied for Conkeldurr but it was left there for four months. I wanted to ask you since you were the last person to edit the page. PattyMan 17:53, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

No idea, I don't read the manga. I was just putting something Dogasu suggested on the forums (and I agreed with) on the page. --SnorlaxMonster 08:25, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

So when you undo an edit then preview the box is blanked upon previewing, or the text is still in the box but when you save the page is blank? --SnorlaxMonster 02:04, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
blanked upon previewing.--My r6g4rdz, TEH GIGA-UBER-1337-HAX0R(Mr-ex777) 04:57, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I just put myself into the usergroup to test it and it worked fine. The problem is on your end, not with the usergroup. IIRC, we had a user (who wasn't in the group) that had a similar problem on a mobile device because they didn't let it fully load before they clicked the button, and it hadn't loaded the text in the edit pane. Werdnae (talk) 05:31, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Do you know how the Egg Blackout Glitch is triggered?

Hi. You seem to be really nice and helpful with the games. I don't mind that help at all. About 2 months ago I was attempting a glitch with Pokemon Gold and Silver or Silver and Crystal as Gold doesn't work and it was the egg blackout glitch. It wouldn't let me trade the egg during a link trade as I only had one Pokemon. Then I thought the glitch was triggered by beating Falkner, then receiving an Egg with only Cyndaquil or Totodile, very hard to beat Violet gym with Chikorita and still no infinite blackout glitch. Do you know any other methods to get it to work? Since I'm not actually playing my gen 2 games. I'm experimenting with them now. (MichaelXD 20:06, 3 February 2012 (UTC))

This is where it came from. Have you tried obtaining an egg, then entering a trade with just your starter and an egg, then trading the starter for an egg? It should work, since you have two Pokémon. Or is that what you were saying you already did? --SnorlaxMonster 02:29, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

So I need to beat the gym leader in more than one version first, get the egg and only have my starter and egg in one version while in another version, I can have more than one Pokemon in the party? I asked this on Yahoo Answers and only got an answer that was chatting about something dumb instead of acknowledging the question. Also is the Brock Skip Gym side effects real or the side effects of using a cheating device? I got dumb answers for that too. (MichaelXD 11:35, 4 February 2012 (UTC))

I have no guarantee that it works, it is just my guess of how it might work. Any information you can add about that glitch is appreciated.
As for the Brock Gym skip, this video shows the infinite walk down. I've watched the whole run before (it's pretty cool), and they did not use any cheats, only glitches (as is mentioned in the credits). --SnorlaxMonster 12:21, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

I was actually trying to do this instead.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIEnl3wz6a8

The game kept freezing on me and it only works on Red or Blue. No one answered and they assumed that just because I was trying to get a glitch to work, it's the same as cheating in a video game. Do I do this at school too? No it's not and thanks to those jerks, it's none of their business what I do at school. It's one I've been having a problem with for a while. (MichaelXD 14:47, 4 February 2012 (UTC))

There are glitches that sometimes freeze the game, sometimes don't. There are also sometimes variations between emulators and real games when it comes to glitches, but this is rare. --SnorlaxMonster 15:15, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

No it doesn't work. I keep getting "Too bad. The trade was canceled." I now have eggs on 2 games instead of just one and I did all my other trading first before attempting this glitch. (MichaelXD 19:51, 4 February 2012 (UTC))

I'm starting to think that that glitch might require cheating so that you start off with an egg. If you can't replicate it, please remove it and add a note to the talk page. --SnorlaxMonster 04:42, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi

Do you have skype? I'd like to be able to talk about Pomeg sub-glitches in Gen IV without having to leave a huge trail of messages that take a long time between replies, if possible ;)

Thanks, OwnageMuch 09:42, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Well, I do have Skype, but I only use it for personal purposes, rather than Bulbagarden/Pokémon stuff. If you have AIM, I'd prefer to use that, but I can make another Skype account (which may be useful at other times too). Bulbawiki staff communicate with AIM, while forums staff use Skype. --SnorlaxMonster 09:47, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't have AIM, sorry :/. If you were planning on make another account then go ahead but if it's just to talk to me then it might not be worth your touble OwnageMuch 22:03, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't going to, no. I may at some point in the future, but unless I can use the IM part of Skype through Pidgin, I probably won't get another Skype account. --SnorlaxMonster 04:42, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

V-create

Well, list all examples if you can. If I have to remind you, only Arceus are able to obtain Judgement, and lots of Pokemon can learn Snarl though TM. Your agrument is invalid, if I'm correct. So please spare me while I undo your undo. --Acellutor 04:19, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Snarl is currently only available via the event Zoroark. While there is a TM for it, it cannot be obtained yet, and will only be obtainable via event. Judgment applies because Arceus is event-exclusive, so so is Judgment. This also goes for all event Pokémon's signature moves such as Dark Void and Psycho Boost. --SnorlaxMonster 04:42, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Wayward Cave

To keep consistancy, why do pages like Eterna Forest, Iron Island, and Stark Mountain have the partner data included? --Wildgoosespeeder 07:17, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

I think you misunderstood. I only moved the data to a different place on the page. I was saying that Platinum data wasn't missing because it was already on Mira's page, and added it. Partner data should be there. --SnorlaxMonster 10:37, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
For more consistency, should it be moved to the top of the page like the others are in the pages mentioned? --Wildgoosespeeder 18:33, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't think Trainers belong under "Geography". Trainers that join you for just one battle rather than follow you are generally in the Trainers section, so I don't see why followers shouldn't be either. --SnorlaxMonster 06:33, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
These trainers you don't face in the areas you team up with them. Plus the other three pages are like that so why not include Wayward Cave with the same kind of deal? --Wildgoosespeeder 07:22, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Well, they use the Trainer backsprite to show that you don't battle them but they battle alongside you. However, I think the best alternative is to create a new section on the pages, rather than being a subsection of "Geography" or "Trainers". So just "==Mira==". I was suggesting that we change all five pages (I don't know which one of the stat Trainers you are forgetting, probably Marley). --SnorlaxMonster 07:34, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
It is my first playthrough Pokemon Pearl Version. I am both exploring a new storyline of Sinnoh and doublechecking Bulbapedia pages for accuracy. I had no idea there were five team-ups in the game, there was even have a fan term to them, and all cover one of all six stats except special defense. I wouldn't have picked up on that. Anyways, where would be a good logical place to put each stat trainer? How about between the geography and items sections? --Wildgoosespeeder 22:50, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Directly before the "Trainers" section. --SnorlaxMonster 07:02, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Template:Infobox location

I think you should look at the talk page of Template:Infobox location. --Wildgoosespeeder 19:18, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Replied there. --SnorlaxMonster 06:33, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
OK. Thanks. Sorry I have been annoying you recently. --Wildgoosespeeder 07:19, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Image placement

Hi, I've uploaded the images of most of the rooms in Generation III ... at least all four main E4 members are complete. However, Sidney's section looks somewhat wonky (a lot of whitespace) because of the infobox pushing it down. Do you know how I can fix this, or would you like to do it instead? Haxorus 02:25, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

There's only only so much that can be don and keep it looking nice. I reduced the size of the images (there were a bit big anyway) and added some clears. Whitespace isn't always a bad thing, especially compared to infobox interference. --SnorlaxMonster 07:02, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Seen your changes, it looks much nicer now. Thanks a million! :) Haxorus 08:06, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Question about Snarl

Bringing up something posted on Zorua's talk page, since Snarl is currently only available by breeding, should it be added to the breeding learnlists? (I had added a breeding list for it on Snarl's page a while back.) XVuvuzela2010X 23:24, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw that earlier. My personal preference would be to add a note like * next to Snarl on the TM learnlist for all Pokémon that can learn it via breeding (chain breed-only Pokémon would need more detailed notes). Pokémon like Sableye who cannot learn it at all might deserve a note saying that they cannot currently know it due to the TM being unreleased. --SnorlaxMonster 23:47, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Glitchevobox template tiny error

Archive pictures not updating?

I uploaded two updated files for P a while ago. Its sprite [1] and Pokédex entry [2]. They were resized to the size of the images I uploaded, but the actual new pictures aren't showing. Why is this?--×Rsrdaman× 00:53, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Well there working now. It was just odd that the server took over a day to update the pictures..--×Rsrdaman× 22:35, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
It's a caching issue. Purging the site cache (by clicking the clock) and your own cache (Ctrl+F5) generally can fix it if you wait a short while after uploading it. It is an annoyingly common issue. --SnorlaxMonster 09:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Mauville Game Corner table thanks and question

Thanks for organizing the reels list into a table! I'm thinking about whether I should reverse the rows, since the order is now visually upside-down from the reels in the game...but it might be harder to use that way? I'm guess I'm not sure if people will read Lotad above Azurill as "Lotad literally above Azurill" or "Lotad appears before Azurill".... I guess probably the former, but maybe not. AySz88 06:53, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I think that it would be better to flip them. --SnorlaxMonster 09:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Kyurem

Also, about the trivia on Kyurem with the "extra data placeholder" it has, is it just empty, waiting for input? Because from what i've seen, it looks as though you could merge Kyurem and Zekrom/Reshiram. Would that make sense. Or more specifically, is that possible?--×Rsrdaman× 01:22, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
