Talk pages for Robot Chicken skit guides: Pokémon Bloopers Pikachu Secret

The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

Conway's Slowking

If I may ask, what's "not notable" about it? Chocolate (Chat with Me) 15:34, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Ask PAK Man. The article was created as PAK Man was reverting an edit the article's creator made to an episode article, where PAK Man's summary was how the Pokémon was not notable enough for its own article. Angie's Shinx is about to meet with the same fate, and I'd recommend the same advice in that case as well. --Shiningpikablu252 15:36, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean the G in Glitch Pokémon shouldn't be capitalized?!

We capitalize the S in Shadow Pokémon, don't we? And Shadow's not usually a proper noun, is it? However, it is always capitalized in the phrase "Shadow Pokémon. Naturally, the same should occur with Glitch Pokémon. So it's a fanmade term. Big deal! It's still describing a specific type of Pokémon. Does its fan origin make it any less notable? No, because Nintendo's never made known what they call them (and given their attitude on the subject, they probably call them bugs, mistakes, errors, or scrambles anyway). Now, I suggested on Chocolate's talk page that we hold a vote on the subject, about whether or not the G should be capitalized. And on whether or not to move ALL Glitch Pokémon articles to [name] (Glitch Pokémon) to be consistant with PkMn. Now, personally, I am outraged on how my attempt failed the other night. Not only was I blocked and every single move reverted, but each page was protected against future moves (by you, if memory serves). And Chocolate was blocked as well, but unblocked because he was in the right?! NO! I was in the right, he was well in the wrong! I gave him a perfectly good reason for continuing to move the pages, and he still reverted them! And then I got blocked! Am I the only one here who agrees that I had a valid point?! *calms down* OK. Now then, my point is, how would I go about starting one of these polls, I mean in an official capacity? Missingno. Master.....IT IS TIME! 11:20, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

There's a difference between Shadow Pokémon and glitch Pokémon. The term "Shadow Pokémon" has been put into official use as a proper noun. The term "glitch Pokémon" has never been used as a proper noun, and very likely never will be, as Nintendo has never officially acknowledged the existence of any glitch Pokémon save Missingno., and even then only because the method to find one was easy to pull off resulting in Nintendo getting questions.
Trust me, if this issue is put to a vote, the consensus will be to leave "glitch" lowercased when used within the standard body of a sentence (trust me, the glitch Pokémon article's going nowhere since many words that would start lowercase in standard usage are capitalized in encyclopedias). --Shiningpikablu252 15:43, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
No offense, but I HIGHLY doubt you speak for the entire population of Bulbagarden (or even a majority). I still say we put this to a vote. Missingno. Master.....IT IS TIME! 17:23, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

While you're here...

Can you please remove that extremely inconvenient period between the words "Userspace" and "edits" in {{Userspace warning}}?--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 22:40, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 22:43, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

So, seriously....

When will we start this Glitch Pokémon vote? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 16:20, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

If a vote's going to be extremely one-sided (in this case, heavily in favor of NOT treating "glitch Pokémon" as a proper phrase where "glitch" has the first letter capitalized), there's no real reason to start it. --Shiningpikablu252 16:23, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Again, I highly doubt you speak for a majority of Bulbapedia on this subject. And even if you do, I'd like to know for sure. I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 16:28, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
You highly doubt it, but he actually does. MaverickNate 16:32, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I say enough talk. I'm gonna start a poll in the forums right now, due to close in a month. The winning option becomes the rule. Anyone opposed to it is more than welcome to state their case there. Administrator Status

In order to keep our Administrator list currently up-to-date, this is a generic "are you there" message.

You've been assumed as currently active and are already marked as such, but if you disagree with this, either edit the List of administrators to reflect your status (Active, Hiatus, Inactive), or reply here when you get the chance. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 16:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Simply looking at my contributions should prove enough evidence of me still being active. Sure, I'm not quite as active as I once was, but everyone has their low points...--Shiningpikablu252 19:11, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeh, and thus you're already marked as active. I'm just making sure that everyone who I already marked gets the chance to see it, in case they have other ideas. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:08, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Ash Ketchum's Heracross (Pokémon)

I must have overlooked the (Pokémon) part. Thanks for fixing that. I wonder where it came from? rockersk08 17:59, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Somebody put that link on Megahorn so that the coding read "[[Ash Ketchum]]'s {{p|Ash Ketchum's Heracross}}". I fixed the page so that everything both read and linked correctly. --Shiningpikablu252 18:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the help with the Charmander eggs on my User page. That was bugging me and I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. Plus, I think the box you created could help me with another problem... but that's another story! Thanks again!--GReimer 18:35, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Moose

Was Moose's name the same? I watched the movie, but he appeared once and I didn't catch it. --PsychicRider 02:25, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

He, as far as we know, went unnamed in the dub. No name showed up in the CC. Barring a script leak or mailbag revelations (like what happened with The Rise of Darkrai, looks like we'll forever know him as "Moose". --Shiningpikablu252 02:27, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Ok, thanks anyway. --PsychicRider 04:27, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
I suggest flooding Pokemon.com's Mailbag. Just don't mention his Japanese name, they don't like it. Just say "Layla's Husband". --Maxim 07:59, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Since You Protected a TALK PAGE. .

I'll say it here: For the Notched Ear Pichu page, is this piece of trivia honestly necessary? - "Normally, Pichu does not have gender differences, while its evolutions Pikachu and Raichu do." How do we even know that the ear indicates she's a female? She may just a have a screwed up ear. シンジShinjiLover,Edits 15:35, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

What are you talking about? --Shiningpikablu252 16:50, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Notched Ear Pichu page. That piece of trivia. . It's not THAT hard to figure out. I was suggesting we remove that piece of trivia because it's unnecessary and gives people the idea that the Notched Ear Pichu is bringing gender differences to Pichu and creating a Generation V. シンジShinjiLover,Edits 02:29, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
I didn't protect the Notched-ear Pikachu page in its current state. Take up protection issues with TTEchidna; he protected the page in its current state.
Personally, I feel the page shouldn't have been created until the 12th movie was released, primarily because it's a featured movie Pokémon from the 12th movie and no other featured movie Pokémon from previous movies got their pages before the movie was released. --Shiningpikablu252 03:06, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
When I tried to go to the talk page, it said that you protected it. "This title has been protected from creation by Shiningpikablu252. The reason given is Yes, I'm protecting a TALK PAGE until the movie....". シンジShinjiLover,Edits 18:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
I made that protection on the at-the-time assumption that the main article would not be recreated or restored until the movie was released. It wasn't my idea to restore the article; if I were asked if it was a good idea to restore that article, I would have given a flat-out no. --Shiningpikablu252 18:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
It was made, so I figured, "eh, leave it." Same with Jun. Someone would've found a way to make it (notice how Jun was originally made at Jun (Anime), with a capital A) so I decided just to let it go, put the best of my knowledge in there, and protect it until the movie. TTEchidna 04:27, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Bowyer

Really? Where? Whatd he say? -- MAGNEDETH 03:19, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Clint Bowyer (from Emporia, Kansas) said it after the Camping World 300 Nationwide Series race in response to a remark by Carl Edwards (from Columbia, Missouri) concerning the Daytona pavement. The quote, as presented in The Kansas City Star on February 15:
Edwards: I was kind of sad to hear they were going to repave it. I wish they would just kind of patch it up or do whatever they've got to do.
Bowyer: Has anybody ever driven through Missouri? If you've ever seen the highways in Missouri, that's why he likes it that way.
Afterward, Edwards changed the subject:
Edwards: Hey, did you catch that MU-KU game the other night, guys?
Fittingly, construction zones are in place in various parts of Missouri seemingly year-round.
Just so you know, the color scheme of the tag I made was taken from the primary color scheme of Carl Edwards's Sprint Cup car. Honestly, it would be a little more difficult to grab a color scheme of his Nationwide car...--Shiningpikablu252 04:21, 18 February 2009
as a Carl Edwards fan myself (and that reminds me, i need to change my tag colors on my profile to suit his new car), do i laugh, or get angry at Bowyer? i was also unaware they were going to repave Daytona, if so, i think maybe just smoothing the bumps would work better. -- MAGNEDETH 05:52, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I don't think Carl got angry, so you probably shouldn't. --Shiningpikablu252 16:36, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
given that youre from MO, are you automatically a Carl fan? -- MAGNEDETH 03:52, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Not necessarily. I live in the Kansas City area, hence I could just as easily be a Clint Bowyer fan--it's about as easy distancewise to make it from Kansas City to Emporia as it would from Kansas City to Columbia. I don't actually have a favorite driver right now, actually...
Additionally, many NASCAR fans in southwest Missouri probably aren't following Cousin Carl. They'd probably be more liable to follow Jamie McMurray of Joplin. (Keep in mind that there's probably at least one Carl Edwards fan in Joplin, similar to how there's probably at least one Carl Edwards fan in, say, Kyle Busch's turf of Las Vegas.) --Shiningpikablu252 04:03, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
true. i just figured if you were bringing it up in its own template. im from PA, so, the only person of note (that i know of) would be Jimmy Spencer.....yea....i actually met him (back when he was driving, not a TV person) and he was a jerk. on a side note, my father met Dale Sr. and says he was a jerk too. -- MAGNEDETH 04:14, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Regarding your revision...

I don't see the 50... ht14 21:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

The 50 is the card's level. The "Lv. 50" text is on the top row, next to the misspelled descriptor that should read "Attack Form".
Given how you edited it to make it appear that it was level 80, I think you may have mistaken the card's HP for its level. The card in question does have an 80 on it, but the 80 is its HP, not its level...--Shiningpikablu252 21:20, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Mankey Edits

Though I am aware that Ash's did not catch his Primeape until AFTER it evolved, it WAS still originally seen as a Mankey in the beginning of the episode. Due to this, TTEchidna gave me full permission to create the page. --Theryguy512 16:06, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Still doesn't change the fact that listing the Mankey as "a Pokémon that belonged to Ash before evolving" is false information. That would imply that, in EP029, Ash caught the Pokémon as a Mankey and then it evolved into Primeape where, in reality, the Mankey evolved first and then Ash later caught it. I can restore Sol's version of the disambig if TTEchidna insists on it, though, since that wording was far more accurate even if it didn't make much sense to put onto a disambig...--Shiningpikablu252 16:09, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Okay, well how about this. Why don't we say "a Pokémon that, after evolving, belonged to Ash"??? --Theryguy512 16:11, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Basically what Sol's version of the disambig was implying. I'll try to get this matter of "permission to insert false information" sorted out with TTEchidna before making any reversions, though...--Shiningpikablu252 16:14, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Sorry

I am very sorry, but I read the page on Ash's Fearow and I saw that in this Section, it had a picture of Fearow "As a Spearow" and I thought that that meant that he caught it and then evolved it. I do believe that every pokémon should have a disambig page and was just trying to make that a reality, and since that page was reverted, how will people be able to go to the TCG of Spearow? And same thing for Rattata, if there is no disambig page then how will they reach the TCG?--Pokemonguy1 18:55, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Before anyone asks about my recent TCG rollbacks...

I made those rollbacks due to the issued errata on three cards (Garchomp Lv.X, Porygon-Z Lv.X, and Gliscor Lv.X) being retracted due to a misinterpretation of Level Max's effect. Only a trivia piece on Level Max and the cards affected by the retractions were rollbacked; Skuntank SF, Shaymin Lv.X Land Forme, and Dialga Pt 23's erratas were not retracted and thus not rollbacked. --Shiningpikablu252 19:41, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

*cough* Forme. As it's the official spelling. Land Forme is the name of that specific form of Shaymin as Sandy Cloak is of this little lady → 413G. I know you think the extra e's are dumb, but they stuck. We can't go spelling it as Land Form any more than we can go spelling it Mew2 and PorygonTwo. TTEchidna 23:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Interwiki links

It is possible for one article to have two interwiki links. All of the Web cards do/should have two Japanese links, and I'm sure letting the French have two links wouldn't be that big of a deal. MaverickNate 20:11, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I know there can be more than one inter-wiki link, but does BulbaBot know that? The way BulbaBot added those inter-wiki links made it look like it didn't have its priorities straight when it came to the French Rare Holo/Rare articles; for example, one article would have the link it leaves lead to the holo but another would have the link left lead to the non-holo. I figured that, at least for consistency's sake (and for the sake of BulbaBot's sanity), the inter-wiki links already there should lead to the holo.
(For another example of just how BulbaBot handles pages that probably should handle inter-wiki links, try looking at this edit and the two following it. After the initial insertion, BulbaBot says it's "adding" another link when it's actually modifying the existing one.) --Shiningpikablu252 21:06, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Is there...

I know that there is the "wait until it airs" policy, but does it have a page like the signature policy? If it is, can we add it to the welcome message? If not, can we make a speculation policy AND add it? I dunno if today was a particularly bad day, but the gun-jumping with Staravia/Staraptor was pretty annoying and may be somewhat avoided by adding a mention to the welcome. Then again, I may be the only person who actually read the welcome message. The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2? 22:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Try pestering TTEchidna over the issue. I agree that we could use a page like that, but I'd rather have backup from the EoC before moving ahead with something like that.
By the way, most gun-jumpers' reasoning can be countered using the DP034 preview as an example. --Shiningpikablu252 23:04, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Just to be safe...

Just to be safe, you should probably protect Ash until DP118 airs next week... --Theryguy512 22:24, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Can you also protect Staraptor? It's been edited about four or so times to add that Staravia evolves. If it poses a lesser importance, then we can just watch out for it. --PsychicRider 23:44, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
I know this is probably not at all necessary, but can you also protect Staravia??? --Theryguy512 23:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Everybody knows this whole "forme" bullsh*t will not be in the game itself. They didn't refer to Deoxys with that spelling in Mystery Dungeon 1 nor in Diamond/Pearl, meaning they're sure as hell not going to refer to Deoxys, Giratina, or Shaymin with that spelling in Platinum. Why this whole charade hasn't yet blown over with no damage done is beyond everyone...--Shiningpikablu252 00:01, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
The thing is, Bulbapedia goes with the information that is currently available to us. Right now we have no reason to believe that "forme" will not be in the game. It has been used for Emerald, so your game evidence proves nothing. Official merchandise has been shown with "forme" in it. That is enough proof for right now. Until Platinum is released, it is forme, and will probably be so afterwards.--RexRacer 00:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
They're using it on the websites. On everything. It's Forme, Pikablu, whether you like it or not. The Japanese version is "フォルム", which is not the normal transliteration of the word "form", "フォーム" is. Fittingly, English spells it with the e at the end, though the pronunciation is the same. "アナザーフォルム" is "Altered Forme", Another Forme in Japanese, while "オリジンフォルム" is "Origin Forme". If Japan intended for it to be spelled as "form", it'd be "アナザーフォーム" and "オリジンフォーム". It's not.
And I will have proof of the Japanese games' usage of those terms in a moment. Likely the only reason they didn't put it for Deoxys in DP was because "Attack Forme" is just too big to fit there, so they put just "Attack". TTEchidna 01:52, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Even the captions for the 11th movie referred to Shaymin as being in Sky Forme. -Sketch 02:49, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
And this image also point to it being under the Japanese "Forme" spelling. Nine days and we'll know the English one has this as well. Either way, dude, you're seeming not to care about what the games say, because you've also repeatedly removed the CamelCase from move links. It's BubbleBeam in the games, you know. TTEchidna 02:59, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Guess what? According to this image among many, it's LV.X. Not Lv.X. That makes it comfirmed. MaverickNate 03:06, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Although I personally believe "Lv.X" looks better, I have to agree that "LV.X" is official, and therefore that's what we'll use. --ニョロトノ666 02:32, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Got the new Nintendo Power yesterday. Has a top ten list for Platinum. #1 talks about Giratina and it's Origin Forme. Last section talks about Shaymin and it's Sky Forme. So...yeah, just adding it to the list of instances where Forme is used. -Sketch 10:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Just traded my Shaymin over to Platinum. Got the Gracedia flower and used it. "Shaymin changed forme!" the message box said! So, here's a question: why haven't you responded to any of this yet? Huh? -Sketch 21:28, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, we can stop bugging him now. But seriously, Pikablu. Official names are official names, and Nintendo doesn't screw up that often. TTEchidna 03:41, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

And finally

"Everybody knows this whole "forme" bullsh*t will not be in the game itself."

Well, no. These ([1][2]) are from my own game. Origin Forme and Altered Forme. It's in the games, end of story. With Giratina, Shaymin, and Deoxys, it's Forme, because that's the official name of the forms they take on, much like Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak, and Trash Cloak are for Burmy and Wormadam and West Sea and East Sea are for Shellos and Gastrodon.

Now seriously, quit removing the e's from the names of those forms or I'll be forced to Kukify you. TTEchidna 05:14, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Absol is Dual-typed (Meant to type Dual-Abilitied. Lol)

Not meaning to start any sort of flame war here, Pikablu, as I really don't care enough to argue it, but Absol is quite absolutely Dual-typed, having both Pressure and Super Luck. -BadKarma 5:10, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

You mean 2 abilities... ht14 05:14, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
That's not the meaning of dual-typed. Dual-typed means when a Pokémon has more than one elemental type. What you are referring to is dual-ability. Absol can either have Super Luck or Pressure as its ability. --ケンジガール 05:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Ya. I just noticed that, myself. I MEANT to say Dual-Ability. It's like, 3 AM here, and it seems as if I'm seeing things, so I guess that this gaffe means that it's time to go to bed. Regardless, the trivia was still wrong because Giratina is also Dual-Typed and Dual-Abilitied. Once again, no flame wars. Problem's been resolved, and I assume full responsibility for having incorrectly read Dual-Type as Dual-Ability. -BadKarma 5:21, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah. Maverick also mentioned that resistance, weakness, and evostage are set at default as -30, x2, and basic, respectively. ht14 03:18, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
I only said remove weakness and resistance if appropriate, but evostage must still be put in. Also, class goes at the end. MaverickNate 19:08, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
