Talk pages for Robot Chicken skit guides: Pokémon Bloopers Pikachu Secret

The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

Dustox (Galactic's Conquest)

How on earth is a Psychic-type Dustox an error? Dustox is part-Poison, and unless you've been under a rock since 2006, you'll know that Poison-types are now represented as Psychic-types in the TCG due to the ridiculous abundance of Grass-types. Cipher 17:01, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

He's right. I play the TCG competitively, and there are about as many Psychic Poison types as Grass Poison types. --ニョロトノ666 20:53, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand...

I don't understand why the Bulbapedia admins consider anime gun-jumps as something wrong and evil which should be eradicated, while game gun-jumps and leaks are perfectly okay and acceptable. I don't see the difference between the two. You simply have some kind of an obsession, I believe. --Maxim 17:28, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

It's because anime stuff falls under an "until it airs" policy. It's possible that a detail could be revealed, highly popularized, and then later revealed to be wrong.
Enforcment of "until it airs" was stepped up after an event largely referred to nowadays as the Cacnea debacle. It was started by Shiny Noctowl after what was a then-routine plot-spoiling of events from DP053 and DP054. Shiny Noctowl then proceeded to move the James's Cacnea article to "Gardenia's Cacnea", citing "James no longer has a Cacnea, we shouldn't have an article about something that doesn't exist" and giving bullsh*t points to try to defend that angle. Negativity ensued, and a poll was waged. The poll heavily favored a move back (the article was later moved back), but Shiny Noctowl was determined to tip the scales by any means necessary; first by adding bullsh*t weighting garbage, then by messing with the evidence, and even claiming that "consensus" meant that "everyone agrees" and since that not everyone agreed, it wasn't consensus.
During that same timeframe, Ash's Chimchar suffered a minor incident also related to the plot-spoiling, when a vandal erased the page's content over and over, claiming the entire page was false. However, this incident was far more minor compared to the larger Cacnea debacle.
The Cacnea debacle was so big that the plot-spoiling practice was ended once and for all after the debacle broke out. The "until it airs" policy was stepped up starting with DP055 and has remained stepped up since. --Shiningpikablu252 17:43, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
...But that debate was all about notability. How did you get from there to not trusting Newtype? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 19:11, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

A Few Things

How do you get the Golden Bulbasaur Award? I saw it on your usertag...also, what Special characters should I make? ht14 14:01, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

How should I know? I don't even know how TTEchidna bestowed the award on me to begin with...--Shiningpikablu252 15:28, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
You subst-ed everyone's siganature templates. And I mean everyone's. (Except I had mine, Tina's and part way into TTE's when you started.) MoldyOrange 15:34, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
What do you mean, Moldy orange? ht14 23:55, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
A long long time ago, about the end of march, a new signature policy came out and all the templates we were using were no longer allowed. We had to go to every talk page (User talk, talk, Shipping talk, etc) we ever commented on since making the templates, and "subst" them. (For a small example, go here, many other pages were bigger than this. I did all 93 of mine, 540 of Tina's and I started TTE's. Shiningpikablu came in and did so many more users. Whenever he found a template, he did it. There was no stopping him! He did so much that TTE decided to give him the Golden Bulbasaur Award for hel;ping relieve server stress. And we all lived happily ever after, til that damn server crash at the end of May. MoldyOrange 01:02, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh....lolz...but wouldn't that risk overide of server? ht14 01:04, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
The fact that people were changing their signature templates created a greater amount of server stress than removing the templates themselves. Whenever someone changed it, the server had to go to every talk page the user ever put the template on, and change it itself. People were changing them too often and it got out of hand and the policy was created. MoldyOrange 01:07, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
I see. Thanks! ht14 01:13, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

GB Decks

Is there anything else that we would be able to put on each GB Decks page? Look here for what I have already. I think it looks a little empty, but I can't think of anything else, and I was hoping you would be able to. MoldyOrange 17:23, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

No ideas here, either.
However, if there's anyone who would have an idea, Politoed666 would. --Shiningpikablu252 19:50, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks anyway... MoldyOrange 19:52, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

darkrai breeder

who is this guy? he seems like he`s wasting his time trying to prove some fake pokemon he photoshopped is real,he`s fighting a losing battle.any one who STRONGLY wants him to stop talking about glatra put your signature on my talk page in the section darkrai breeder --Xam430 22:38, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

please note Im not trying to offend him--Xam430 22:43, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

You do know darkrai breeder's block doesn't expire until the 27th, right? And if darkrai breeder does return and revert to form--he's got a new game to create some phony methods for in his fruitless quest to prove that a fake glitch Pokémon is real--odds are he'll be on the outside looking in forever before too long. --Shiningpikablu252 23:27, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Tyler

That one Tyler in Kanto may not even be named Tyler. The other option was Taylor. The CoD list was inconsistent with the episode page, and I just picked one and made them the same. I don't know which is correct, so it could be either. MoldyOrange 03:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Pokéfarm Article?

You deleted my Pokéfarm article...if I do an article w/ more info can it stay on? Emp395 14:44, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

That depends. It's entirely possible that the site in question isn't notable enough for its own article no matter how detailed such an article is.
If the site was only recently created (i.e. the site's only a week old or so), odds are it will be considered non-notable whether an article is one sentence or a hundred.
Additionally, if an article appears to be basically nothing but advertising a fansite, odds are the article gets trashed. Bulbapedia is not an ad agency for fansites. --Shiningpikablu252 14:47, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Well it's more than 1 year old and it is fairly popular...Emp395 22:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Images...

Did you get a scanner? MoldyOrange 18:57, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

In a printer-scanner-copier combo device yesterday. Parts in my old printer had reached the end of its service life quite awhile back, hence the need to get a new printer. Given that a combo device had a reasonable price, why not get a combo device?
Sure, my first kick at using the scanner functions may not have yielded perfect results, but you'll never know if you don't try, right? --Shiningpikablu252 19:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Block me

OK, it's official. I'm addicted to editing. However, this interferes with my schoolwork, and as a result, my grades are falling. Can you please block me until, say, November 1 so that I can put my full attention to my schoolwork??--Kkllnn blastoise 22:34, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Stormfront cards

Here's a thought...for the first time in weeks, I have no homework or coursework or any other studies to do tonight. I also have tomorrow morning off. If I maybe used PokéBeach's IFDS translations to draft up card pages in NotePad, save the pages as .txt files and then modify those drafts as necessary (e.g. card numbers, attack text etc.) the next time cards get revealed, I could get pages up thick and fast tomorrow morning. What do you think? Cipher (Talk) 15:09, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Sounds good.
Funny you should mention Notepad, since that's the program I myself use to put in an article base and make modifications. Search-and-replace saves a lot of time when dealing with Pokémon names. --Shiningpikablu252 15:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I do that for stuff like...well, last I used it was for the DPt-P promo cards and the Gift Box cards, but when scans catch me off-guard like they just did I tend to just type as fast as I can in the wiki editor. Probably should be the other way around, but I guess once you've got a pattern you use, it's difficult to get out of it. Cipher (Talk) 15:17, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh, also, should I upload some Japanese card images for Stormfront so that all card articles have a card image, even if Japanese? I'll be purchasing some Stormfront boosters in a couple of weeks, and I'll be uploading those, but still, for the time being... Cipher (Talk) 16:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

That could work, but I'm not entirely sure on this one. I'd go to Moldy orange for a second opinion on this one. --Shiningpikablu252 16:09, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Shiningpikablu252, you seem a little reluctant on using the Japanese images. Is there some sort of hidden problem that I don't see? MoldyOrange 01:11, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
It's not reluctance, it's just that I'm not really the expert when it comes to images. --Shiningpikablu252 01:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Last night I got very few articles done, only seven or eight, two or three of which I've been able to use today. So what I'm gonna do today is get as many done as possible and upload Japanese card images for the set, then I can hopefully get a lot put straight up tomorrow. Probably would have helped if I'd have had the idea a couple of weeks ago... Cipher (Talk) 11:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Don't give up. Even a late-rising plan could yield fruit sooner rather than later. --Shiningpikablu252 15:33, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
