Talk pages for Robot Chicken skit guides: Pokémon Bloopers Pikachu Secret

The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

thank you

thank you for all the help where can i get thoese things that say i hate mudkip and I am male ect...

The usertags you're seeking can be found in subcategories of Category:User tags. I don't know of any "I hate Mudkip" user tag (the only special user tags involving Mudkip involve whether or not that person licks Mudkips, with "liek" being a corruption of "lick"), so you might want to use {{User Template}} and fill in the details. As for a male usertag, {{User Male}} is what you're looking for. --Shiningpikablu252 20:13, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

so i herd u liek Mudkipz

Man...what the hell are you talking about? First: the "liek" is a mispronunciation of "like". And, "composition of Mudkip scales"? "Narcotic"? "Drug-induced"? Man, "ecstasy"??? Are you getting mad or what?-- うずまきハルカ 02:49, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

TCG Redirects

Why are you redirecting to the older articles? As a rule, the newer versions of cards have the correct text to suit their rulings. For instance, Steven's Advice reads that the card cannot be played if the player has MORE THAN SEVEN cards in their hand, while the EX Power Keepers version reads that the card cannot be played if the player has SEVEN OR MORE cards in their hand. -Politoed666

Ask TTEchidna. --Shiningpikablu252 21:42, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
My opinion is that the card should redirect to the oldest release, but have both the original text as well as the newer texts. It'd be on the TCG main page that "cards are played according to the most recent version". TTEchidna 00:08, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Typless Moves?

Are they really? I've beaten all of Mystery Dungeon and never noticed that. -Politoed666

Yep, Mystery Dungeon's special attacks all lack a type. Be they the dummied out Excavate and Spin Slash from PMD1, the PMD1-only Horizontal Cut, the PMD2-only Wide Slash, or Vacuum-Cut available in both PMD1 and PMD2, moves made specifically for a Mystery Dungeon game lack types. --Shiningpikablu252 23:41, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Card Lists

Should we include EX cards in the lists? Blastoise ex is missing from Blastoise. -Politoed666

No it's not. My bad. -Politoed666
Don't worry. It wasn't exactly obvious right away. Such is the nature of that kind of pages. --Shiningpikablu252 02:01, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Not bad for a first try...--Shiningpikablu252 00:42, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

TCG Card Articles

The card text on the cards reads "Celebi," not "this Pokémon." Why should it read that way under "card text," when that isn't the actual card text? I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I'm curious. -Politoed666

It's something in the TCG called the self-referencing rule. Whenever an effect mentions itself and only itself, it's considered a self-refernece. Self-references are treated as if they read "this Pokémon" for purposes such as Clefable's Metronome and other effects that copy attacks/effects.
Note that not every occurence of a Pokémon's name is a self-reference--for example, Nidoran♀'s Call for Family attack would look awkward if the occurence of Nidoran♀ in the attack effect were to be treated as a self-reference. As you know, there is no card actually titled "this Pokémon", and as such, it's not treated as a self-reference. Stuff in this fashion does not even use the TT template.
Finally, you need two vertical pipes to use the TT template properly. The displayed text goes after the first pipe and before the second, while the hidden text shown by rolling over goes after the second pipe. For example, {{tt|Celebi|this Pokémon}} would display as Celebi. Leaving out the second pipe displays a {{{2}}} when rolling over it. --Shiningpikablu252 21:14, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Ah. Have you corrected that on the Crobat page, yet? -Politoed666

Littleroot Town mistake

I am sorry about that. Even though i do have Pokemon Sapphire, i forgot about Route 101. Sorry!Boywonder0101:42, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

This is ridiculous...

Do you see what I see? The absurd irregularities in the old card articles and the new ones? Why the heck do we need to have physical info about the Pokémon (length, weight) when a user can just go to the main article on the Pokémon? And there are some technical differences... Have a look and see what I mean. Oh, and what's wrong with the Raikou article I just wrote? -Politoed666

On the Raikou's attack, you botched up an "e" template. On the Pokédex data--which is actually printed on cards from Base Set to Neo Destiny and from Diamond & Pearl onward, and is a standard feature on a Pokémon card article from any of those sets--you didn't put a line feed before the table-close code, causing the article to continue the table where it shouldn't have gone. --Shiningpikablu252 23:16, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Sorry. I'm still a newbie at the TCG stuff. Thanks for all your help. -Politoed666

Eh?

How come that you aren't a Administrator? I think you should be because of the hundreds of edits you make per night. Lol, just a thought. TESHTALK 21:02, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Edit counts have nothing to do with sysopship. Argy is a sysop, yet rarely makes edits here. Then there's the matter of Ketsuban, a sysop who usually makes quite a few edits at once but doesn't show up all that often. Just because Pie, a sysop, is the only other user here to have earned the coveted 2000 edits in a month tag doesn't mean anyone who makes a sh*tload of edits at once should be a sysop. Just my two cents. --Shiningpikablu252 21:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Just seems that you should get Administratorship because of your dediction to Bulbapedia. XD TESHTALK 21:14, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Tesh is right. In fact, I was really close to asking the same thing. If there is ONE user who actually deserves administratorship on this wiki at this point in time, it's you. -Politoed666

TCG Pictures

How are they? I have almost all of Neo Discovery done, and I'm going to be done with it in a few minutes. The Team Rocket set is done except for the commons as well (those are proving a little hard to get). By the way, is there any way to move Bulbagarden Archives files? -Politoed666

You're doing pretty good. Just make sure you actually upload an image before removing it from The List--I had to put holo Umbreon back on after not finding a matching image.
As for your other question, unfortunately, no, you can't move stuff in the Image namespace on Bulbagarden Archives. Sorry. --Shiningpikablu252 23:06, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

You did the Neo Revelation cards after I uploaded the pictures, didn't you? Thanks. -Politoed666

Lick? Liek? Like?

So where did you get that "lick" idea from? I know where "so i herd u liek mudkipz" came from, but you always mention licking... Tina 21:03, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Melodi

How you came to that stupid conclusion of yours is beyond me. I will contact Pokemon USA and see if I'm right. Closed Captioning IS NOT PROOF AT ALL, get over it. Melodi is a made up name by the Closed Captioning center.

Closed captioning is better than nothing. You're trying to say that we're not to trust closed captioning? If closed captioning is all we have, then we should go with it. The only reason it's Ritchie and not Richie is because Pokémon Puzzle League said otherwise; some of the later closed captioning actually followed the Puzzle League lead. An English name is an English name, no matter how it comes into play, and Bulbapedia policy says to go with an English name over anything else. Only resort to Japanese names if no English name is confirmed to exist. In Melodi's case, we do have an English name through the closed captioning, hence we use it. Same goes for Karsten. --Shiningpikablu252 22:38, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

New Users

As I said to Politoed: Do NOT assume that new users are automatically sockpuppets. It's rude and unwarranted. I understand that you want to be vigilant, but you're going overboard in automatically telling new users to f*ck off. Stop it. evkl 19:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

The only reason I made those actions in the first place was because of the blatant methods employed. If you can see the JohnnyRebel heading under Bulbapedia talk:Troublesome users, you'll see that the alleged sockpuppet in question employed the methods done with three other alleged sockpuppets in displaying the same name as a known good faith user. --Shiningpikablu252 19:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough, but what gain do we get from telling him or her to f*ck off? It'll only incite them, and it's childish. I'd refrain from doing it, just because it serves no purpose. evkl 19:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

POP redirects

While the POP 6 cards are technically the same as their Diamond & Pearl counterparts, they have different artwork. Should that be reflected at all? -Politoed666

Well, for starters, only 13 of them are the same as DP counterparts. Bastiodon and Rampardos are MT reprints, while Gible and Pikachu have no counterparts.
Additionally, if you look at Pachirisu, you'll see I've moved the POP 6 picture into the article. I didn't do that with Lucario because the "POP 6 picture" was a Japanese card. --Shiningpikablu252 22:43, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

FR/LG Chapters

Okay. I see it, then. I'll try to translate these titles (I'm sure they'll be close to Coronis's translation) but I was really annoyed by those Coronis's names. Okay. --Maxim 15:46, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Tomorrow I'm going to try and standardize all the pics from Gym Heroes, Team Rocket, and several other old sets. Right now, they're all different sizes, but that's going to change. -ニョロトノ666

Category:Pokémon-Lv.X cards

Hi there, I'm just wondering why the name of this category includes a hyphen when the official term is "Pokémon Lv.X" (although technically it's LV.X). Surely the category should use the official term.

Oh, and also, the Lucario Lv.X cards - I see why you changed the Lv.X ruling that said "Lucario LV.X" to "Lucario Lv.X", but I used the card text reference from the official POP website, so technically that's correct. Double Dash 15:42, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Similarity to Pokémon-ex. That's the reason the hyphen's there. --Shiningpikablu252 15:47, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Uploads

First of all, is there any way to upload images straight from other sources to the Archives? My computer is getting bogged down by the hundreds of images I'm downloading. Second, can you make sure I don't remove anything from the list that I haven't uploaded? Also, right now I'm trying to standardize all the pictures from Team Rocket up through Neo Destiny, and I'm somewhat unorganized here, so could you make sure I don't srew up? Thanks. -ニョロトノ666

*cough* -ニョロトノ666
A method for uploading images from other sources straight to the Archives? Not that I know of. I wouldn't be surprised if such a method is impossible to pull off, be it technical limitations or Zhen Lin running a tight ship. --Shiningpikablu252 03:58, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

"In The TCG" sections

For the sake of consistency, I'm going through all 493 Pokémon articles and changing them to ''Main article: [[{{{1}}}(TCG)]]''. For example, check out Bulbasaur. In any case, I'm noticing that, while some of 'em do, many of the Pokémon don't have TCG articles. I'll start this soon and, since you seem to be great at those sort of things, I was hoping you could help. What do you say? -ニョロトノ666

Just don't overexert yourself, and count on me to fill some of the gaps. --Shiningpikablu252 00:48, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, I've finished the articles for all Generation IV Pokémon that have had a TCG card released. If a Generation IV Pokémon doesn't have a TCG article, there's been no card for that Pokémon. This should help in determining where to place those tags in the main Pokémon articles for Generation IV Pokémon--after all, TTEchidna said the tags shouldn't go on Pokémon such as Arceus yet...--Shiningpikablu252 04:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

User Mew

This is why I erased it: I was trying to get it to say "This user's favorite Pokemon is Mew, but instead it said "This user has a Mew." I don't want to be a lier! I'm new to Bulbapedia and I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to templates.

There is a Special:Listredirects page, but no results will come in after the 1000th result.
Your best bet is to use the "What links here" of the redirect or disambiguation page in question. If something in an encyclopedic namespace such as main or Shipping appears, you can then look in the articles and weed the links. Just don't go weeding on Bulbapedia:Links to disambiguating pages and you'll be fine. --Shiningpikablu252 23:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

I believe I covered that base, actually. There were three cases of linking to the Mismagius redirect. I corrected Milotic first, and what-iffed Little Miss. The second instance was Rayquaza, where I what-iffed Zoey's Misdreavus. The last instance was Groudon, where I what-iffed the Mismagius from DP043 (which I don't really think deserves its own article, but I was out of other possible what-if scenarios). --Shiningpikablu252 21:38, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
