Welcome to Bulbapedia, Sabresite!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Sabresite/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --CoolPikachu! 06:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Bulbasaur honey tree glitch???

You say that there's a glitch in the game's programming that can cause a Bulbasaur to appear on these trees? And that an AR isn't needed? How exactly does one trigger this glitch? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 02:01, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Username Linking

Please link your username in your signature using [[User:Sabresite]] or {{u|Sabresite}}. Linking as [[Users:Sabresite]] adds a page in a nonexistant namespace to the wanted pages. --Shiningpikablu252 16:37, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Your Arceus probably wasn't holding a plate. I tested this out with my own Arceus. Normal Arceus didn't freeze the game, but Arceus with a plate did. I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 20:59, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Capital P, Accented e. Second one's on the character palette below the editbox.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 20:41, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Again, you had better accent the E in Pokémon. That article you created had that misspelled so many times. Use it or consequences may follow as this is about our most sacred rule. --PsychicRider 20:44, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Or to be honest... you could wait to see if I am going to edit it. I was in the middle of updating the article and fixing the "misspellings". Also keep in mind the origin of what I post... its copied/pasted, therefore modifications, updates, and fixes are inevitable. I also would hand to you the notion that consequences towards me would only hinder the knowledge and information that is added to this wiki. Or would you rather not learn more about the game? Sabresite 20:46, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, what if you weren't going to edit it, and we just let it sit there all day? We couldn't do that, now, could we? And no re-signing unsigned comments, it gives the wrong time.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 20:51, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Is there a way to lock the article while I am editing it? I don't think I have that kind of privilege. Regarding the unsigned comment, yeah that was an accident. If you rather I leave it unsigned, without a time, then thats fine. Or I can adjust he sign time to be proper.- unsigned comment from Sabresite (talkcontribs)
No. And the fact that there is a preview button that you can use eliminates that. It's there for a checking for mistakes. --PsychicRider 20:54, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, you can always use {{Inuse}} to avoid edit conflicts. Just a suggestion. ~ overgrownsol 00:47, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, I wasn't aware of this template. I will definitely use it. I am not aware of probably 99% of the templates on this wiki.Sabresite 03:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Honey tree questions

OK, so I see you've made some startling discoveries about the honey trees. I had no idea that only 4 trees in the whole game have a chance of yielding a Munchlax! Now, I have a few questions. One: How are these 4 Munchlax-bearing trees determined exactly? And two: You know how you can slather honey on a tree that's already slathered with honey? Does that affect anything? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 00:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Just a little thing...

Don't use "you", and capitalize section headers as you would a sentence. Only the first word and proper nouns, alright? TTEchidna 07:34, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Accident, sorry Sabresite 07:36, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

PokeMod or PokéMod?

I changed the title to PokéMod from what it was earlier. I had then not noticed that you claim to own the program and want the title to remain PokeMod. As most, if not all, of our related article titles have a é instead of a normal e, I would prefer, even though you are the owner, that you contact our Editor-in-chief TTEchidna and ask him about what the title should be. To honor your claim, I will not again change the title of the article, but I would again request you to contact TTE in this respect. Thank you.--Sher-e-Bengal- 18:33, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, I will contact him as you suggest. Sabresite 19:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Quick note

Thanks for your work on honey trees; it is really informative. However, when writing on talk pages it is advised to write ~~~~ after all comments, thus letting everyone know who said what and when. Also saves people time chasing you up with {{unsigned}}. Thanks, and keep up your good work regarding game mechanics. Happy editing! — THE TROM — 20:18, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Erm... Poké

It appears as though your site subscription for Poké expired on June 21. I strongly advise that you renew your subscription before someone else nabs it. Didn't know if you noticed or not, so I figured that I might as well notify you about it. PG (bleh) 14:17, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:25, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
