A message of attention from S1tHSL4y3r:
Unfortunately, due to circumstances involving school, exams and activities, my presence on Bulbapedia may appear redundant for the next number of weeks (as it perhaps already has been for the past few), however I will occasionally return to check on messages, and anything of immediate concern. Communication with me for the time being would be best via email. Rest assured when life has settled down, I shall resume my regularity. Thank you.

If you want to reformat trainers on route articles, please use the templates you can find on my sandbox (Just remember for GSC, and RSE, to add a | and the gen number after land in the footer). As for the exp counts, right now it's best to not add them. I can't go into too much detail, but we might be adding exp to the party template itself. The work you have been doing is greatly appreciated, and sorry for not replying sooner. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 10:13, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Ah right, fair enough then. Yeah, adding a little exp column would be a good idea. Thanks, and that's fine, chances are we're on different timezones anyway ;D I'm east Australia. ~ S1tHSL4y3r 12:39, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. There are only three userspace edits allowed per day, and you have gone over the limit. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. --Force Fire talk 07:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I don't think the monobook.css is considered part of the Userspace as it's more like a "my preferences" thing. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 07:14, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I guess first I'll say sorry, Force Fire. Though if you're talking about all those edits on monobook.css, yea it's a more "my preferences" thing, but also, in a more relevant manner, Previewing does absolutely nothing when you're editing a file that's being externally used somewhere else, though I suppose you'd know that already.
Also, today's pretty much the first and only day I've spent doing anything on my User: namespace since I joined a few days ago :| So I've just been gathering things from around the place as I see them, but trust me, I always use the Preview button, countless times before saving it.
Do those three edits include making new pages as well? ~ S1tHSL4y3r 07:47, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I understand, But you just have to remember, A subpage of your Usernamespace is still part of your UserNameSpace...... in other Words, Your Monobook is still part of your Userpage.... If you get my dig...--Force Fire talk 08:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
OBJECTION. Monobook.css HAS to be placed in the UserNamespace, but the .css themselves have nothing to do with the actual namespace but the way the user views the site [kinda like "my preferences"]! I propose that such a page should not be considered part of the usernamespace. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 08:39, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
My thoughts exactly. ~ S1tHSL4y3r 11:28, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Even if it's a default css file? Cos, the thing was I actually had to save it in order to preview it. But it's not an issue now anyway, since I've finished with it and doubt I'll ever touch it again. And thanks for notifying me. ~ S1tHSL4y3r 08:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Gonna write a comment to myself, he said. You know why that's really weird? I dunno, he said. Exactly, that's the same answer I gave. Hmm, that what he said too at the time. I may be feeling unwell. Bit schizo? At least, that's what the doctor told me. He told him too, but he was too busy talking to himself to hear properly. Not that I was there. -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 02:32, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

You know what'd really make putting the experience gained into the article easy?

If we could make a template that relied on a switch statement.

If you could do that, matching up values for base experience with the National Dex numbers, it'd be awesome.

It'd easy enough to start. Just take the base exp. from the list of Pokémon by effort value yield and throw it into the switch.

What I mean is, start it with {{#switch: {{{1|001}}}|129=20|298=33|173=37|174=39|172=42|360=44|013|191|194=52|010=53|041|165|167|265|401=54|016|261=55... then just continue on down the line until you come to ...131=219|150|249|250|384|468|483|484|486|487=220|113|242|440|493=255|0}}. To that end you'll make an effective template for calculating base exp. yield from an entered species, which will then be implemented into the template.

Then from there, it'd be easy work. TTEchidna 01:18, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Nice idea, I get your drift. Then all we need to do is to connect the variables from the existing templates into exp yield = 1.5 × base exp × Lv / 7 etcetera, though we'll need some sort of function for disregarding decimals there.
However, I think an alternative needs to be concocted to replace how the template handles multiple Pokémon in parties, at the moment there's 6 separate external templates, which makes it very annoying to edit them all to be consistent. Perhaps more nested templates could be used? I'll take a look at them all and see what can be done first, before starting the exp, otherwise we'll give ourselves a hard time xP
Also, I reckon it'd be possible to pull off better graphics for the whole template at some point... border, background images? Though I think I'm getting ahead of myself >_>     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 04:51, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Your signature seems to be making line breaks. You might want to check out the signature policy, as line breaks in signatures aren't allowed. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 08:30, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Technically there isn't anything wrong in my actual signature, I've just been manually putting it in a div so it can align to the right, but I suppose the concern is still there, I'll keep it inline.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 09:53, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Ah alrighty. Yea, it's best to keep it inline. Thanks ^_^ - Kogoro | Talk to me - 09:55, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

This is your second warning. Please refrain from editing the User: namespace too rapidly, or you will lose privileges. --The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 23:45, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Huh? He has 2 edits in userspace today, why giving the warning? UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 23:49, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Assuming today is the 15th, I count a grand total of 10 edits. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 23:51, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Yep, he had ten! MaverickNate 23:51, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Crap, that UTC time thingie again... pardon me, I'd better change the BP time to UTC to prevent these from happening in the future... (it's 01:53 AM 16th Dec 2008 here ATM) UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 23:53, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, well, I don't blame you really. I only really found this because I check people's contributions at random, and check everyone I see editing the userspace. That policy of mine let me learn that TTEchidna edited the userspace 13 times today! The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 23:55, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Sigh, it's always with the externally used files isn't it... I don't see how else I can test an externally used file such as a template without actually saving it. Yea, actually I haven't gone over the limit today, for me it's the 16th here... it's probably just timezone difference.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 00:01, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, but Bulbapedia goes by UTC, which just rolled over about 2 minutes ago. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 00:02, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Rightio, it'll probably get annoying for me then xD. So I still want to know, how does one test an externally used file such as a template, without saving it?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 00:09, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
You can do so by clicking on the "Show preview" button! -Billy4b2004 14:20, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Dude, you don't get what I mean by external file. An example would be creating a template that requires variables from a second different template. If you Preview it, nothing happens. You need to save it then test the second template to see if it works. If it doesn't, that's when you have to go back and edit the external one, save it again, and test the second one. It's a grueling process but you can't get around it. And, depending on the complexity, plus number of nested templates, it ends up involving a lot more than three edits. It's not something you can just leave for 24 hours when your three edits are up. Though just for the record, on everything else Shift+Alt+P FTW.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 14:34, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

This is your final warning. Failure to comply with the limit on editing the User: namespace will cause you to lose the ability to edit it. --MaverickNate 20:58, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Dammit, and here it's a new day. This is going to get annoying.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 21:11, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

In case you didn't know, subpages are part of the three userspace edits per day.--The Kkllnnator サンタクロース 21:11, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Bulbapedia:Project Routes

Why did you change the headers? Level 1 headers are only allowed on the Main Page. Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 17:39 12/20/2008

I simply based it off the parent project, Project Locations, which had the same header heirarchy. Besides, the sub-headers need to be somewhat clearer.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 17:45, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, then Project Locations should also be fixed. TTEchidna is the highest-authority admin here, and he hates level 1 headers. Chocolate (Merry Christmas!) 17:47 12/20/2008
Fair enough. Personally, I don't find anything wrong with them, though it might just be the way it appears for me, or him. Still, I reckon the header levelling on Project Routes goes way too deep, just look at RSE and FRLG, they're tiny. The sub-headers deserve more clarity.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 17:54, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
It is because level one headers are the same size as the title on the page, and that can't happen. MaverickNate 18:41, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I know that, but even when there's text and a long contents table separating it? In any case, protocol is still protocol, and there's always the alternative of manipulating the sub-headers instead.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 04:15, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to only edit their pages four times a day, at most. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, ok? Thanks! --FF(edits-talk) 06:28, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Very very beautiful. Would you be able to make the versions used in RBY, GSC, and RS for that template as well? - Kogoro | Talk to me - 09:36, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I know, aren't they just darlings? =P Hmm, sure they shouldn't be a problem, though do we need an RS one? The Emerald one would be used in most situations already.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 09:47, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, RS is different than Emerald. And it's often better safe than sorry, right? - Kogoro | Talk to me - 09:52, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough. The only difference with the design actually is the colour, and I haven't found any sign text differences in the games as yet, but yes better safe I suppose.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 10:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

...and now Template:Kanto needs your help. It's making a royal mess of some browsers. Thankies! — THE TROM — 20:38, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, it's not a royal mess anymore, but it's messed up when you go to the articles on Kanto cities with Gyms on Firefox... See the bottom of Pewter City as an example. ~ sol 22:10, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually its fine for me, so it must be your screensize, Sol. Is there a way to automatically determine the height of the boxes? ("Well, yeah, probably," say the voices in my head; but I shall investigate this further.) As I think of it, this will also be a problem for people who don't log in coz of the ads. — THE TROM — 22:19, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess it's the screen size. :P ~ sol 22:22, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey, sorreh guys, I've been away for some days, so is it still causing any trouble?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 05:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Only when the screen area is less than about 800px wide.... I see no difference (besides the obvious) in Firefox/IE. So if you can make the height of the cells automatic that would be awesome, but otherwise it'll be as is I guess. — THE TROM — 06:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Yea unfortunately divs can't expand automatically heightwise like we'd all like them to, which is very annoying, so I've only been able to make the whole table a set width so it doesn't go all retarded when resized horizontally... however I'm still working out a foolproof design to prevent that, though I may have to resort to using heaps of nested tables :/. This is essentially all a result of IE not supporting the border-spacing css property, otherwise everything'd be simple >_<     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 06:20, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I understand most of that. Cool. Thanks for your work. Nested tables shouldn't be too bad I think... — THE TROM — 06:23, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
You know what, I think I'll just go ahead and use nested tables, for the sake of all those people with resolution widths smaller than 800px lol.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 06:52, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Leave it at 800 for now, when we get a clear idea on what is up, then we fix, for now.... IDK--FF(edits-talk) 07:20, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
...We do have a clear idea on what is up... well at least I do since I did make the design =P. The thing is, divs can't conform to text overflow. So I'm working on yet another redesign which will use nested tables rather than divs, as table cells are the only structure which does conform to text overflow. Yes, I'm using technical language. JUST EAT IT.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 07:25, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Heya, S1tHSL4y3r. First, just letting you know that the Project Locations has changed quite a bit recently due to the instructions of the new Project Leader, me. The project has been updated and visually redesigned to make it easier to process. Little tasks and goals have been added to project page to make things run better and to help expand location articles. If you have any suggestions, inquiries, or questions, please don't hesitate to ask on the talk page.--Clarky13 11:50, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
