Persian Origins

Hello. Please don't change Persian's origins to say "big cats". Big cats are considered an actual group of cats defined by specific physical characteristics. The puma or cougar is not currently included in this group. Thanks. Crystal Talian 03:05, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Well Persian physically has more in common with big cats than small cats and pumas are sometimes classified as big cats.Robbie (talk) 12:54, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

This is true, but Persian primarily shares traits with cougars more than the other large cats. Big cats is a little misleading as it typically only refers to cats in the Panthera group. Wild cats encompasses all of them, so its a bit more fair. Crystal Talian 05:20, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Zapdos edits

Making the same edits to a page that have already been reverted is called edit warring, and is a blockable offence on Bulbapedia. Before you re-add an edit that was reverted, you should discuss the difference of opinion on either the talk page in question or the talk page of the user that reverted your edits. When two different Bulbapedia staff members have reverted your edit in the past citing that you are focusing only on the beak, then you have not provided enough other evidence to support your point. You also brought it up on the talk age and were never given agreement with what you posted, so you should not be posting this information unless given the go-ahead on the talk page. Also, please make sure your signature for talk pages includes your user name, and a link to either your user page or user talk page, as per the signature policy. You focused on the beak (which is also matching the lightning bird that is referenced in the article) and eyes (which are such a small part of the Pokémon its an insignificant portion). If no one has responded to the talk page, it does not mean that you can go ahead and repost something that was reverted. ChE clarinetist (talk) 20:10, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

I happen to disagree with that. So do ForceFire and Carmenstar. You haven't convinced any of us that it is based on the Tengu and not the lightning bird already referenced. ChE clarinetist (talk) 20:34, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

You are focused entirely on the beak, and sometimes mention the eyes. I could just as well say that Zapdos has a long thin beak like a hummingbird, and both are birds, so it must be based on a hummingbird. That is the kind of proof you are offering. Also, Shiftry is more humanoid, while retaining some bird-like characteristics with its fan-like hands resembling wings. Zapdos is entirely a bird, which does relate to a humanoid mask in any way. Zapdos' face looks like a mask. Here's a side view of it's beak. It looks like very long nose.

It doesn't have to be based entirely on a creature, it can just have characteristics of it, just like Pidgeot has characteristics of the egyptian gods Ra and Horus and Golduck of the kappa.Robbie (talk) 21:09, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Once again, you are focused ENTIRELY on the beak. As both ForceFire and Carmenstar said, that is only one single similarity, and it is not enough of a comparison to be listed as an origin. With the responses and edit reversion, it is still 3-1 on this, against your view. It is not something that looks like it will be added, especially when you remain fixated almost exclusively on the beak/nose comparison that you were told is not enough to justify adding your point. Just going to pop in and say that I had no part in this discussion/reversion (that was Crystal Talian). But anyways, two staff members have already expressed their disagreement with your argument that Zapdos's design is based on the tengu, and explained their reasons. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 21:41, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

I'm also focusing on the FACE! The feathers sticking out from the sides of it's head make it's face looks like a mask. How many times do I have to keep saying that?
