I also enjoy having pages link directly to the intended article, rather than going through a redirect, so I'm taking care of the redirect links for the games, as you'll see in the recent changes. Just thought I'd let you know. :D --ニョロトノ666 01:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Lol funny Politoed Anyway, something is sent Pokemaniac102 01:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I did notice that, Politoed, and I'd like to commend you for being so diligent about it. I'd like to do more to help this site, but I do have to allot time for other things--like inducting juniors into NHS, which is why I'm leaving now. Thanks for your comments, guys. --MartonimosTalk 02:09, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
See ya...Pokemaniac102 02:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and calm down about the userpage thing ^^ Just keep in check. Check yourself, your mail just incase you got something, or anything else :DPokemaniac102 02:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
My input on this one! Make sure that this anti-redirect measure doesn't include anime Pokémon. We don't want the link list of EP230 to say Ash hatched a Phanpy and link to Ash's Donphan, which doesn't appear for another 150 episodes... Anti-spoiler measure. TTEchidna 04:06, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Hmm...good point. I'll keep that in mind. --Martonimos((Talk)) 04:26, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

hows about Tri Attack (Tri-Attack)? -- MAGNEDETH 22:48, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. Only one page in the main space linked there, so I just took care of it. --Martonimos((Talk)) 23:04, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I've also done some redirects, although I am creating them rather than relinking what goes to them, and a recommendation: when you look for redirects, look often at misspellings of common terms (Pokémon Ranger Battonage is one I made like this) as they are easiest to mislink to. As I have little info to contribute, I will try to help you out. Theininen 01:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Make sure to check at least every month. For example, there are two articles now which are linking to the tri-attack relink page.
And Lock On should be in your list. MathijsP 08:02, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Ugh. You're right. I'll start adding pages I've done already to the list as well. I found a "Lock On" on the Legendary golems page (even though I KNOW I did Lock-On already!), so that's on the list also. I'll go through my contribs later and find any others... but it's just past midnight now, so I'm gonna wrap up and go to bed. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I live in The Netherlands and its morning here so I'm going to work on this. MathijsP 08:19, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, I guess I appreciate the help. And... sorry for yelling at you about the Raichu mess. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I've did Mud-Slap. MathijsP 09:15, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Should I add Pokémon trainer though not being a move? MathijsP 10:12, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

And ive done AncientPower as well. MathijsP 12:39, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
There were two links to Poison sting which I have fixed. MathijsP 14:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Poisonpowder was a bit more work but also done. MathijsP 15:11, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm only really concerned about the main namespace; I may get around to the others eventually, but probably not. What's more, the list of links to disambiguating pages should remain intact, or at least all the Pokémon on it should, for the same reason we use link templates. If, someday, a random trainer showed up with an Azumarill, and the poor saps who watch the anime decided it was worth it to make a page about it, we'd have a disambiguation page not linked to from that list. So leave that alone, at least for now. What we can do is check each disambig page on the site, and see if anything links to those; if so, they need to be redirected to whichever article is most appropriate. OF course, that would be an incredible pain and take forever, but hey, so is the rest of this project. And we certainly don't have to do it all at once. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:51, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Are we sure it's Conversion 2? Because I've seen just as many sources that spell it as Conversion2. (Answered)
  2. Nidoran (Pokémon) redirects to just Nidoran, since the disambig page covers both genders. So I think I should replace all instances of {{p|Nidoran}} with [[Nidoran]]. But of course, the use of link templates is official policy, so I'm not sure that's a good idea... what do you guys think? Maybe we should move the disambig page to Nidoran (Pokémon), just to make things easier. (Answered)

Answers plz. --Martonimos((Talk)) 21:35, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Try this: {{p|Nidoran♂}} and {{p|Nidoran♀}}. ♂ and ♀ symbols on the character bar @ the bottom of the page. Theininen 01:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Erm. I actually already did the few links there were. The problem was that the context of the links didn't mention the gender of the Nidoran, so the links lead to just Nidoran (Pokémon), because they still used the {{p}} template. I replaced, like, three of them (on pages Lucky Lucky and List of Pokémon with gender differences). There's one left, on Shū, but that Nidoran actually has a gender, we just don't know what it is, so I'm waiting until we figure it out.
Anyway, this question is no longer in effect. Thanks for your help. --Martonimos((Talk)) 01:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
No prob, I just thought that it would work if you hadn't thought of it. Theininen 01:38, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

one more...

You might wanrt to check out the redirects for Vending Machine cards. MoldyOrange 04:25, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

The capitalized letter that launched a thousand redirects. Sigh... --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:40, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Why not use bots?

Why isn't it better to use bots to eliminate redirect links? What's more, some scripts could filter any submitted edit and replace redirect links with direct links (and, maybe, some links with templates, like [[Meowth (Team Rocket)|Meowth]] with {{MTR}}, as well). Since all the articles about anime Pokémon belong to Category:Anime_characters_(Pokémon) and its subcategories, it wouldn't be difficult to avoid spoilers. --Pokeresp 14:05, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Fabu-Vinny brought this sort of thing up here, but Zhen Lin appeared to veto it. Besides, I don't know the first thing about 'bots (although if you think you can do it, by all means, go ahead; I'd appreciate the help). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:17, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
