Uprising

Though I agree that Democracy probably isn't best for BP, I believe that everybody should fight for what they think is right. Is there some way I could PM you (I can't get on to the BP forums and I don't even know if I could do that there). I just want to say something in private. Rpp 02:28, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp

Wait... What happened? It showed too many things. Rpp 02:31, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
take it easy on the submit button! -- MAGNEDETH 02:34, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I can't remember 5 Seconds ago! I'm not sure I over-pressed it. Rpp 02:39, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
If you want to PM me, the forum is set up for it... --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:24, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I suspect that it's Fabu-Vinny there too? Rpp 18:56, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
Without the dash. I regularly post in the Bulbapedia forum and am a global moderdator so it shouldn't be too hard to fine me. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:02, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Check It

Goukazaru appears to be using his talk page as a user page. -- MAGNEDETH 02:41, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

So at what point does it become unacceptable? A lot of users are putting tags on their talk pages "until the ban ends," and nobody does anything about it. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:48, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
one or two tags, any maybe some notes to the user doesnt bother me, but, if its blatant, as in, taking up more of the page than actual conversation, then i feel it becomes unacceptable. but thats me. -- MAGNEDETH 02:55, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I sometimes use my talk page as a sandbox (I just don't really know how to make one.) I also sometimes put tags on it for reference or as a joke. But nothing longer than a conversation. Rpp 02:56, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp

At this point, it's sad. User Talk pages now are flooding the recent changes. Boywonder01 03:01, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Yep, Hai, Oui, Si (Whatever other languages). Particularly because of me (←Also I know I use that too much...) Rpp 03:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
We ought to tell everyone with usertags on their pages to just put the code in a text document and keep it on their computer. Even if they can't do that, they should just write down the tags they want and keep that list for when the ban is lifted. This problem may become more serious than it seems; it is, after all, a partial circumvention of the ban. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 04:46, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

It wouldn't be that simple for people because some people can't get it through their heads. It's not rocket science, just put your tags on Word or Processor! Boywonder01 08:06, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

User talk:Goukazaru . Hes turning it into a user page..........Emperor's Cookies 16:08, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Both TTE and SP252 have stated their positions against userpage content on user talk pages (and even though Fabu-Vinny hasn't responded to this conversation yet, he did remove content from that guy's page). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 03:14, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Resigning

I don't think I'm ready for editing Bulbapedia in the long run. I have other things to do. Fabu-Vinny, could you delete my account? I'm considering leaving the Users.BlueJirachiWishMaker 19:00, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

No Fabu-vinny, don't delete her page, let me try and convince her to stay. Guardian of Earth 19:11, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
We're not going to delete anyone's account. If you don't want to contribute anymore, we can't force you to stay but your account is still tied to the edits you have done.
Plus, I don't have the power to delete accounts anyway. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:55, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Template:LinkSprite

The purpose of the template was to provide a sprite of the Pokémon that linked to its page. I had to hotlink because the Archives add those random numbers before each image name. --Shiny Noctowl 14:52, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Stealing bandwidth is still a big no-no. We link to the name of the species near the images anyway so there isn't much need for the template. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
It's still better to have the image itself link to the page. It's annoying how images link back to the stupid useless page instead of being able to link to an actual page. --Shiny Noctowl 15:13, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Good point, I keep having to hit back when jumping pages either from missing the link and/or clicking the image. Gywall(Talk) 15:17, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
There are some really complicated tricks with CSS and such that allow you to use standard image links but still link to any page you want. It's probably a Wikipedia template somewhere — but I don't recommend stealing the code. Maybe there's an extension... - 振霖T 15:24, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I had that template once, but it was annoying in that, instead of having the image link to the page, there was text in front of the image that linked to the page. Yeah, it works, but it looks weird if you highlight it. --Shiny Noctowl 15:26, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Sockpuppet

I believe User:Frazer Ketchum is a suckpuppet account for Sailor Earth. Sailor Earth has been in trouble for removing comments from peoples talk pages, and now Frazer Ketchum claiming to have hacked Sailor Earth's account. If you look at the contribution histories and talk pages of both users you will see that Frazer Ketchum has been in trouble for some of the exact same stunts Sailor Earth has been pulling. Trainer-c 15:28, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Frazer Ketchum should be banned for hacking Sailor Earth's account and taking the job of the admins into his own hands (by effectively banning another user). --Shiny Noctowl 15:46, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
"Effectively banning another user"? How did he manage that? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:50, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
...Dear me, this guy is trouble. I don't know if he is a sockpuppet or not but he is just asking to be blocked. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:53, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

You still have to set Sailor Earth to e-mail confirmed again. --Shiny Noctowl 15:55, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Can I do that? It would be more sensible for Sailor Earth to get another e-mail address first anyway. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 16:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
But we can't contact him, because he used Frazer Ketchum's e-mail to register, and he also thinks his password was changed. --Shiny Noctowl 16:03, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
"If you look at the contribution histories and talk pages of both users you will see that Frazer Ketchum has been in trouble for some of the exact same stunts Sailor Earth has been pulling." You'll also notice that Frazer was around a good month before Sailor. So Frazer wasn't a sockpuppet. Sailor might have been, but I seriously doubt it.
You know... didn't Sailor make his own sockpuppets at one point? SP252 had to block two of them. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:08, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

They weren't socpuppets, I was banned and and I couldn't contact the admin who blocked me because he didn't want to receive email from users so I created sailor earth 2 and wrote on the talk page it was only to discuss the block and I wasn't going to make a single edit until he said I could, it was for discussion purposes.

However I only made the one, if you look in the block log a Guardian of Earth was also blocked obviously because it was like the name Sailor Earth so SP252 thought it was a sock but it actually wasn't. Guardian of Earth 17:32, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the "Earth Guardian" name was blocked as a sock due to an obviously similar e-mail to the master "Sailor Earth" and the sock "Sailor Earth2". The e-mail registered for all three names at the time suggested "Earth Guardian" was a sockpuppet about to be used for block evasion. If evidence can be provided that this is not indeed the case, I can rectify this. --Shiningpikablu252 18:27, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Hm. Can you check the IPs? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 19:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Ummm...

Excuse me, but could u please explain why advertisements have started showing up on Bulbapedia?--KukiTalk 14:55, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

What advertisements are you talking about? As far as I can see, there are no ads on the site right now. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:02, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

There were when I first logged on! Does it have to do with improving the server?--KukiTalk 15:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Log out and look at the top of the Main Page. They're up there. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 15:09, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Huh. Well, obviously I have no idea about it. Zhen Lin is normally the go-to guy for the inner workings of the site. Though we have had ads for a while - it's just that it seems to only be for people who aren't logged in now. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:18, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I didn't notice them when I first started using this site, but now they're the "click here and you're a winner!" types. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 15:35, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

A two Accounts problem

Well, it seems I have two editing accounts by mistake, namely due to the fact I didn't know there was a read only account under my forum name, and I just activated it.

My other account, GoldChaos with a capital C.

This mistake isn't going to jeopardize my presence here, is it?

If it isn't a problem, is it possible to merge accounts somehow? Goldchaos 18:56, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Torchic

Torchic do have gender differences. The male has a black speck on its rear and the female does not. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

...We have a new record holder for most subtle gender difference ever. I still have a hard time believing that was intentional. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:38, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I know. And it's slipped by a lot of people. Not even Serebii caught it. But it is listed in the Nintendo Power Pokédex guide for Diamond and Pearl. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 15:45, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I can confirm that. The Nintendo Power guide is our friend. It's the Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links12:21 29 Jun 2008

Revert

Excuse me sir why did you revert my edits to the Elite Four? User:Agent008

Shot in the dark here, but I'm going to say because the images were waaaaayyy to huge, plus they weren't very consistent with each other. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 01:48, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
See my edit summary. The images were far too big for tabular viewing. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 12:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

EP248's Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard

What are we going to do about them? Should we put them in Temporary on Jessies or James's page?--KukiTalk 18:16, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

...Sure. Charizard is already on Jessie's page anyway. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I added about the second Charizard!--KukiTalk 18:21, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

So why are you asking me? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:26, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

To add Venusaur and Blastoise!--KukiTalk 18:27, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

If we have one of them, we have the other two as well... --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:30, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

So should we put them on Jessie's or James's page?--KukiTalk 18:33, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes!! MoldyOrange 19:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Can any of u do it please, or tell me how on my talkpage?--KukiTalk 19:22, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I have to leave, but if it still needs done when I get back in a couple of hours, I'll do it. MoldyOrange 19:25, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

But no one else I know can do it is on--KukiTalk 19:34, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Can't you do it? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:48, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Whoever did it thank you, cuz I don't know how!--KukiTalk 20:34, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Charizard?

Are you ever going to un-block Ash's Charizard? I found some pictures of it and I wanted to put them up. The one we have now doesnt really show it very well.Mooites 17:43, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!

Why are you redirecting all those articles? I only made them because they were used by main characters, otherwise I'd have made articles for the guy's Graveler, Flareon, ect.! I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 13:57, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

They have a ridiculously small role and being briefly used by a main character does not magically grant them an article of their own. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 13:59, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it does! Explain Jessie's Charizard, James's Aggron, Ash's Raticate, and Golduck (anime), then! They were used in battle by main characters, which, in my experience, is enough to warrant their own articles! Hell, James's Hoppip wasn't even used in battle! It was owned for all of two minutes, if that much at all! I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 14:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Just because we have X, doesn't mean we need Y. They might be worth deleting too. Golduck, for one thing, at least had a whole episode based on it. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 14:05, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
It's pretty annoying seeing those reverts.... So stop doing that, they have no importance, they only used it briefly which is not worth noting. --Force Fire 14:00, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
It can be noted, it's just that they don't deserve an entire article for it. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 14:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I have an idea. How about one page for all the Pokémon in question? It can be called Exam Instructor's Pokémon, and can have all the information on all the notable (and non-notable) Pokémon there? I mean if they aren't notable enough to each have its own article, how about one article for all of them? I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 14:06, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
It could just go in Pokémon League entrance exam instructor. That article is still fairly small right now. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 14:11, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

So, incorporate the information from the articles into the instructor's article? Sounds like an idea to me. I'd be happy to do it myself, if I'm allowed. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 14:14, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Lock down Bulbapedia, PLEASE

This is an urgent SOS mail!

We're getting a huge vandal attack. I was doing fine taking care of it myself, but now it looks like entire articles are being compromised and being turned into unrecoverable self-redirects. I don't think there's anything I can do. I'm sending this to the admins I know of in hopes that someone reaches it and does something before it's too late.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Special:Contributions/Capulet Take a look yourself.

I would recommend locking the place down and fixing everything. Toastypk 06:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I can't do much if I'm not online. Is everything back to normal now? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 15:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I think for now, but they said that the vandal will "come back soon after we've thought about what he said." MoldyOrange 15:13, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

What's new?

Kuki referred me here, and thanks again about the block. --*Ɣℯⲛօӎօṫհ* 19:49, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
