:::I'm really not sure what is happening - When I was editing the page on my PC on Chrome, I made sure to preview the page and it all looked fine, as it did when I submitted it, but looking on the history and comparing it to other revisions all the code seems to be missing after those first few cells of the first table. I'm really confused about where the disconnect is between what I submit and what actually appears on the website, and why when I looked at the page it seemed fine, but clearly others are seeing something different. As you can see, I tried to edit the spacing of the table and resubmitted the page to see if it fixed it, but it didn't so I undid again. Apologies for not understanding the issue at first, but the page seemed totally fine from my end, and I'm totally confused as to why it won't work! - bthrussellUK (talk) 16:19, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Like ForceFire said, if you want to make a major change, you should ask first.
...If a staff member reverts such a change and tells you to discuss it, you really shouldn't go about and try to do your edit again. (If such disregard proves to be a habit, you may face a temporary block.)
(I'll also note that when something breaks and you don't know why...again: ASK. Doing the same thing again (several times even) isn't gonna change anything.)
The more established a page is, the more strongly you should generally consider discussing a change. And all the more for pages that are major subjects on the wiki.
I will revert your edits to Pokémon anime. Feel free to start a discussion on the talk page. And, to be clear, please do not redo your edits without approval.
Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:48, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to my talk page! Please follow the talk page policy; start a new topic using the + button up top to create a new section, indent your comment using : when replying to someone else and don't forget to sign your name using ~~~~.

I read everything posted here - if I don't reply it usually means I understand and agree. Thank you!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

 • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
 • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
 • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
 • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
 • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
 • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
 • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
 • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
 • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Thank you! :) - bthrussellUK (talk) 14:53, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Categories

Please don't add tables like you have been to category pages. A single-sentence description alone is enough. --Abcboy (talk) 23:40, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Apologies, it was more for the navigation from the home page. The links on the right hand side plonk you on a catagory page, and for someone new to Bulbapedia who was looking for the Trading Card Game or Video Games that might be a little overwhelming? So I thought a more obvious link through to the main page for each thing might be helpful? I'll admit I got a little carried away however, and I won't put any more on. - bthrussellUK (talk) 23:49, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Date formats

Dates should be formatted in US date format (<month name> <day>, <year>). This is for consistency across the wiki and with the games, which also use American English. --Abcboy (talk) 05:01, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

Proposed templates

Proposed templates in your userspace must be approved by the Editorial Board first, and then moved to the mainspace, before being put in use. Thank you.--ForceFire 16:09, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Since you’ve done Hulu…

I feel like Amazon Prime Video should be your next target, also expanding the US section to focus on what’s streaming free there, while leaving the sales stuff separately--KnightGalarie (talk) 15:22, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Addendum: Where should a “Pokemon on Amazon” redirect go?--KnightGalarie (talk) 04:49, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
To be honest I think "Pokémon on Amazon" is a little too vague a concept. You could mean the merchandise, video games, anime or movies for sale on Amazon, so for it to link anywhere specific would probably be confusing to someone looking for something else. A redirect for the sake of a redirect isn't good, they're only for common misspellings, or when a particular subject doesn't have it's own page.
Having said all that: I'm probably not the person to ask, an admin or someone from the editorial board is better placed to answer this - bthrussellUK (talk) 10:50, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Making articles

Hey there, if you want to create an article, it's best to make it in your userspace first and wait for it to get approval from the staff to see if it's worth having. Your Viaplay article was of questionable notability since it doesn't appear to be an English service. Generally, English providers are notable as we're an English wiki, while anything relating to specific countries goes to their respective "Pokemon in <country>" article. Japan is the only exception. Your Viaplay article has been moved to your userspace and the staff will decide whether it's notable.--ForceFire 06:22, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, the reason I gave Viaplay an article of its own is because it spans multiple countries. That's why when I added ITV Hub and Now TV to the VOD template I didn't give them a page, as I was intending (eventually) to add them to the UK page (and DisneyNOW already redirects to the US page). - bthrussellUK (talk) 10:32, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
The redirect you claim existed did not when you made the claim, and does not as I write this--KnightGalarie (talk) 13:21, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
The redirect I "claim to exist" is the one for DisneyNOW on the VOD template. Click the link and it takes you to the Pokémon in the United States article. The redirects for ITV Hub and Now TV don't exist, as nothing has been written about them yet. I'm not sure the existence of redirects was the point of this discussion - it was about Force Fire letting me know I had jumped the gun with an article, and me explaining my rational for creating it... - bthrussellUK (talk) 13:33, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Major changes

Hey there, if you want to make a major change, you must ask on the talk page if you can make the change and wait for it to get approved. Also, don't leave the change unfinished, try to do it all in one edit, or at least somewhat complete. Thank you.--ForceFire 15:34, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Apologies, but I'm not sure what about my edit was unfinished or incomplete? - bthrussellUK (talk) 15:38, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
I meant the template itself, and you also seemed to have removed the other sections (like trivia) and the categories/interwiki links.--ForceFire 15:46, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
I'm really not sure what is happening - When I was editing the page on my PC on Chrome, I made sure to preview the page and it all looked fine, as it did when I submitted it, but looking on the history and comparing it to other revisions all the code seems to be missing after those first few cells of the first table.
Ok, so it turns out using a Musical Note emoji breaks everything! So I changed it for an image... Really sorry about all this! - bthrussellUK (talk) 16:31, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
