Much like I drew different gender Mr. Mime kids (named Mimkid and the girl Mimey) Psychic Eevee (names Pscheon) and a Spider (Spido Freaky how it looked like Ariados with), I had the concept of Shocglow and Predmata before Rotom and Carnivine even made the scene. I also had the water steel combo thought up before I knew Empoleon's type/ These were made 04-05, before i went to College in 06. If you don't believe me that i came up with it before then, i could care less.
 
Originally Merviking's picture was Scannorseway's, and the pair was going be like Slowpoke and Slowbro where they only change some. I was going have it where if Scannorseway is holding a king rock and it hits Lv. 100 it evolves into Merviking, where it gets crown and the middle jewel turns into a circular one. The trick is that if you don't have Scannorseway holding a King rock when it turns Lv. 100 it'll never evolve.

back in the mids 2000 I noticed before many others that Torchic did not have an active flame as part of its anatomy like the other Starters. I added that bit to wikipedia but some idiot removed it and wanted me to source/reference something you can see as plain as day. Combusken Also has no active flame as a part of its anatomy.
