Hello, folks, welcome to my userpage. I'm TTEchidna, current Editor-in-Chief of Bulbapedia, and general guy-in-charge here. Sure, I have people that I answer to, since I'm not the ultimate in Bulbagarden authority (not that I ever wanna be!), but still.
Since joining this wiki, I've made over 20,000 contributions just to the main namespace, excluding redirects. Pretty good, I suppose, for someone who was late to the party.
Despite my seemingly all-encompassing knowledge of Pokémon (which I got by seeking out stuff so as to help out here) I'm not the only one you can bother for an answer, and indeed, am better suited for my current favorite role of upgrading our templates to be roundy and nice, and to fit as much good information together as possible. For help with general issues, why not check out the talk pages of other administrators, as they're better in some aspects of the metaseries than I.
In general, if there's some issue with the server, or Bulbapedia's down for some reason, I probably know about it as much as you do, and your best bet is to look at the forums (which is linked in the sidebar of every page). Archaic and evkl know more about the server's operation, so if they don't know something's wrong, tell them. And please, don't try refreshing twenty times. That just makes it worse. Give it a half hour or so, it'll be back.

My history with Pokémon
I may have been late to join Bulbapedia, but I was certainly not that late in joining Pokémon itself. While I initially didn't like it very much because I had no idea what it was about, throughout 1999 I got a better look at it through kids I knew. I began my TCG collection then, but I didn't have a Game Boy to my name... heck, I barely had any games for N64. But eventually, that November, my parents waited in line for a chance to get the elusive #151, Mew. And out of so many, they were the ones who got it. I asked, of course, "Hey, there a chance I can get that in TCG format?" Nope. It was an event Mew. I needed a game. So, there you have it. I got Pokémon Yellow and started off with Pikachu... and from there... went on my quest to always finish the Pokédex.
Then I got Red and Blue to finish the Pokédex. I finished each and got Mewtwo, but the one from Red was particularly a pain to catch... enough that I ran out of everything but Great Balls, and so ended up catching him in one. That was Psycho... but more on him on my subpage.
I, unlike so many others when they start off, had advanced knowledge of Template:Shiny2 Pokémon, though, and was eagerly awaiting the release of Gold and Silver, and my chance to get my own, much like that shiny Oddish someone displayed. I got my wish... four times, in fact, not counting the red Gyarados. Go on and read about that over on my other subpage.
However, I was so focused on getting a shiny that I hadn't checked out what other new moves Pokémon would have... or even if they could be like Psycho. So it was a big surprise to me when I went and found Lugia in the Whirl Islands. Since it was level 70 (being my opposing version's mascot), it was just as hard as Mewtwo was in Red. Didn't help that it shared Swift and Recover, too, as its known moves. After catching it, I knew what it had to be: Neo Psycho.
Gen II I was set, I kicked ass and was quite happy with how my teams turned out. But then we got the announcement of Ruby and Sapphire. I wanted it, like all the rest, to have the new Pokémon we'd known for a while, including Azurill. I was ready to go, but I hadn't planned it out very well. I intended fully to rely on my GSC Pokémon... which I soon found out were all unavailable. WHAT. I hated Hoenn just for that. I couldn't get the Psychos back. They were trapped in the past. My shinies, too, were of no use. EverPsycho and NovaPsycho kept the Psycho team going until we got FRLG, where they picked back up from the beginning with Psycho (in a Great Ball again), but I got no shinies... None at all. Emerald came along and I began to try to get competitive, but it wasn't much use. I didn't get a single Frontier Symbol. Came to Lucy three times... but lost each one.
So I was thrilled about Generation IV and its backwards compatibility. Finally. No restarting. But no, they restricted it to post-Ndex this time... so though they could come forward, they were stuck waiting as I beat the game as fast as I could to get them all forward. I didn't very much like Dialga, so I just boxed that thing. Cressy was what I wanted. LunaPsycho. It was here, in Gen IV, that I began to get competitive. I knew what to do, I looked at all moves, and I chose the ones that were the best. I began to EV train. I began to check IVs of wild Pokémon I've caught. I got my fourth (non-Gyarados) shiny, who became a Psycho herself and is one of my top battlers now.
Oh hello what's this? TTE was right the whole time? Why yes, of course he was. And now I'm ready to import the Japanese SoulSilver, catch Lugia and name it ネオサイコ, and eagerly await the US versions.
Unless of course they're gonna be releasing all versions at once... hrm... But oh well.

It will take until August 6, 2010 without the release of the first paired versions of Generation V for Generation IV to be longer than any other generation in Japan, and until May 29, 2011 for the same to be true in the US.
