| | As I basically have about 0.01% as much life as most other people do, I'm always up for a WiFi trade or battle. My friend code is 3909 4002 2610 (I have Diamond, FYI.) |

| | ===Battling=== |
| | I do not take competitive battling seriously at all. I do not have an all-level-100 team with perfect movesets and items to match some crazy strategy I made up that will pwn you in five seconds. So if you want that kind of battling, move on, nothing more to see here. However, I do enjoy battling as a casual pastime and will be happy to battle you for fun. Although my core team is in their 60's-70's, I have other second-string Pokemon in their 30's-50's, so if you're not very far in the game and don't want your team ripped apart by my Hall of Famers, just let me know what level range you'd like to battle against. |
| | |
| | Also, as I epically fail at battling strategy of any kind, please don't come to me with questions about teams, strategies, movesets, etc. (including rate-my-team kinda things). I'm sure there are plenty of other people on here that are awesome battle strategists that can help you with that sort of thing. |
| | |
| | ===Trading=== |
| | I'd be happy (positively tickled pink, even) to help you complete your Pokedex or get that one Pokemon you've been looking for by trading, either to evolve or for keeps. And before you ask, no, payment of any kind isn't necessary. I just like to help people. |
| | |
| | I'm working on completing my National Pokedex, and as such have accrued a rather large amount of Pokemon that I'll be happy to breed for you. Here's what I've got: |
| | |
| | - Every breedable Kanto Pokemon |
| | - Every breedable Johto Pokemon |
| | - About half of breedable Hoenn Pokemon; specifically, everything up to Skitty (as I continue to fill up my 'Dex, this number will increase) |
| | - A few breedable Sinnoh Pokemon (including Turtwig, my starter, and Diamond-exclusives for you Pearl players) |
| | |
| | I don't have any legendaries up for trade, but sometime in the future I hope to be able to have Clione up for grabs (like there aren't a million of those floating around). Also, sometimes I get spare legendaries from outside trades, so if an extra ends up in my collection, I'll list it here until it gets snatched up. |
| | |
| | I also visit the Underground quite often, so I have very many Underground items, including: |
| | |
| | - Evolutionary stones (Fire, Thunder, Leaf, Water, Sun) |
| | - Heart Scales |
| | - Fossils (including Old Amber, everything except Armor and Root Fossils) |
| | - Lots more that would be a pain to list here |
| | |
| | I have many, many of these, so feel free to ask for them, or ask me if I have/how much I have of anything that wasn't listed here. |
| | |
| | ===Voice Chat=== |
| | I hate to sound rude, but I am an extremely private person and do not enjoy voice chatting with others unless I know them well. For this reason, I would request that if we play on WiFi, voice chat would be turned off. If, for some reason, you really feel the urge to voice chat with me...well, let me get to know you a little better first. If we do end up voice chatting, I would ask that you refrain from swearing or rude language, as I just don't like it. |

| What you are about to read is the story of my experiences with Pokemon. Every word is completely true, no matter how stupid and/or silly it may sound. Additionally, there are some obvious gaps in the record thanks to my overly-faulty memory. These gaps will be identified by variations of the phrase "I can't remember". You have been warned. | | What you are about to read is the story of my experiences with Pokemon. Every word is completely true, no matter how stupid and/or silly it may sound. | Together, we also discovered that a game store (which has since, sadly, closed down) at the local mall sold Pokemon Cards, which we had been hearing about for a while. I got a Blastoise in my first three booster packs, which my cousin wanted so badly that I traded it to him (for what, I can't remember). Simply put, I'm a long-time fan of this wiki as an excellent source for miscellaneous Pokemon info, and I finally decided to join in order to provide additional information.

My Life With Pokemon: The Biography of a Fandom
What you are about to read is the story of my experiences with Pokemon. Every word is completely true, no matter how stupid and/or silly it may sound. Additionally, there are some obvious gaps in the record thanks to my overly-faulty memory. These gaps will be identified by variations of the phrase "I can't remember". You have been warned.
In the Beginning
I got into Pokemon many, many years ago, when they were just starting to advertise Red and Blue on TV and in magazines. The concept looked interesting enough, but I was dissuaded from openly asking my parents to buy me the game for reasons I can't quite remember (part of it must have been the Electric Soldier Porygon incident that was all over the news, causing no little ridicule for the series amongst members of my family--to have expressed interest in this current object of their disdain would have been tantamount to social suicide).
However, all of this changed when I went over to my neighbor's house one lazy summer afternoon and embarked upon a video game journey that would change my life, for there, sitting on her dining room table, was a Game Boy (yes, the original, big gray model), turned on, with a copy of Pokemon Blue inserted in the slot.
Needless to say, that curious little device got most of my attention for the majority of the visit, and I finally worked up the courage to ask her, in that ridiculous giggly preteen girl sort of way, if I could possibly look at the game, and maybe even play it. Of course, she was a nice girl, so she agreed. I picked it up, quickly familiarized myself with the controls, and was in for the ride of a lifetime.
I can't really remember the details of that first playing of the game, but what I do recall is that her brother had casually started a game with Bulbasaur as his starter, and he was somewhere on Route 1. I had a blast battling various Pidgeys and Rattatas until I was finally dragged home by my mother.
Eventually, I convinced my neighbor to allow me to erase her brother's game (I believe my argument was that he wasn't very far in the game anyway) so I could start my own. (Actually, come to think of it, I was quite the overbearing little twit back then.) I briefly considering going with the Bulbasaur again, but finally settled on what looked like the cutest one, Squirtle.
Of course, all good things must come to an end, and my first run with Pokemon was no exception. I soon learned the sad news that my neighbor-slash-Pokemon-provider was moving away. It was an almost-tearful goodbye I said to her (and her Game Boy; my, but I was a heartless brute).
The next few days (or was it weeks? I can't remember) were spent moping around the house, pathetically pretending to play Pokemon on a piece of paper I had cut out and drawn on to resemble a Game Boy.
The Big Break
Salvation for my psyche came in the form of the Early Birthday Present Clause, one which I am sure has been utilized by every child since the beginning of time. My parents were generous (and crazy) enough to actually get me both a copy of Pokemon Blue (the version I had previously decided upon because it was the first version I'd played, my favorite color is blue, and I liked Squirtle/Blastoise better than Charmander/Charizard) and one of the newfangled Game Boy Colors (to this day I can still remember sitting on my parents' bed, excitedly explaining to my father over the phone while he was at Toys 'R' Us that I wanted a green one--I still have it sitting in my closet, in fact).
The following period of time was, quite frankly, awesome. I even somehow convinced my grandparents to get me the Official Nintendo Guide for my birthday (the same one I had seen some boys reading in science class, and strained to catch better glimpses of all of those Pokemon I hadn't even seen yet), and I was good to go. (I still remember the little stickers they had in the back that you were supposed to peel off and put on the Pokemon's Pokedex entry when you caught it. I think I used most of the stickers for various decoration rather than keeping track of my 'Dex.)
Another bonus was that my cousin was getting into Pokemon at the same time, and he had both Red Version and a Mew (which he had gotten from a friend at school, as there were far more Pokemon players at his elementary school than at my junior high, and those at my school who did play Pokemon were too afraid of the social consequences to admit it). We had hours of fun battling and trading, and he even revealed to me the workings of the MissingNo. trick, which was the reason why all of his Pokemon were level 100 and always beat mine.
Together, we also discovered that a game store (which has since, sadly, closed down) at the local mall sold Pokemon Cards, which we had been hearing about for a while. I got a Blastoise in my first three booster packs, which my cousin wanted so badly that I traded it to him (for what, I can't remember). It was also there that I discovered the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga in single-chapter format, which I acquired a few copies of.
(I'll finish this later.)
