I joined Bulbapedia in the hopes of contributing to the games info, mostly. I've got a couple good sites I can go to in search of good moves for my Pokémon, but one thing I noticed was a severe lack of detail on a lot of moves. The in-game descriptions of move effects are always quite vague, and most fansites don't bother to do any research on the actual effects (for example, a lot of people know recover heals the user by half the Pokémon's maximum HP, but it's rarely mentioned anywhere). I'm always looking for a good project to get started on, so that's going to be my job from now on!

For more info on me, feel free to check one of my other accounts on other websites.

I'm on quite a few other sites as well, but DeviantART and GuildWiki are the two I spend most time on.

I've got plenty of experience with the MediaWiki formatting and coding, but keep in mind, I'm still fairly new to Bulbapedia. If I do anything that's even close to breaking a policy, let me know! I've gotta learn somehow.

Pokémon Teams

So far, all my teams have been various Pokémon, nothing especially noteworthy. My only two Pokémon to make it to level 100 are my Rayquaza and my Mewtwo, named Altix and Eradix, respectively. They're both currently on my Pokémon Emerald cartridge. I've yet to get a non-legendary Pokémon to level 100 though, and that's my goal, a full team of non-legendaries.

I'm working on a few team ideas at the moment; due to my somewhat scatter-brained methods, I haven't gotten very far on any one team, but I do have enough to list a bit here...

...Thanks to the new Gen. IV battle system, dividing Physical and Special Attack stats based on individual moves, not types, I can work a lot more strategy into my team-building. Separate moves have more benefits now; For example, Ice Beam is a much better choice over Ice Punch, in terms of power. But Ice Punch is a Physical, which is rare for the Ice-type. On a Pokémon with high Attack, it's a much better choice.

Sneasel's been my favorite Pokémon ever since I first saw one. Dark's one of my favorite types, and I just love Pokémon with high speed stats. Up until now, It's been hard to train a decent Sneasel, due to Dark being a Special-type, and Sneasel having pitifully low Sp. Attack. But with the new system, I can - and plan to - take full advantage of Sneasel's high Attack stat.

Anyway, Keeping with a Dark-type loving theme, here's my first team in Pearl. The team's not fully built yet; you'll notice a few of the members are still low-level, while others are simply "NA" (I haven't caught/hatched those yet). Moves marked with a black "X" are moves the Pokémon hasn't learned yet, either because he/she's too low in level, or because I didn't bother to give the TM yet. Anyway, here's the full team setup:

Darkness Within

Darkness Within is basically a collection of my favorite Pokémon; Dark-types are among my favorites, thus the team is mostly Dark. This lowers the number of weaknesses to the team, but at the same time, the weaknesses it does have are shared across the group, making it rather risky to use. I'm not sure what to use as a sixth-member, but it'll most likely be one that doesn't share Dark's weaknesses...

note: moves marked with an X have yet to be taught. Level "NA" Pokémon have yet to begin training.

Shining Heart

Shining Heart is a defensive-minded team setup; nearly every member has some sort of disruption and/or healing moves. The offense is still quite strong; not as heavily offensive-minded as the Darkness Within team, but perhaps that's a good thing. This team is also filled with favorite Pokémon, but more light-hearted favorites... Psychic is another favorite of mine, so it shows up strongly here. Little bit more diverse aside from that.
