Hello and welcome to my newest project. I got this idea from Prongs, who got the idea from TTEchidna, so I thought I should carry on the tradition. Hopefully I can inspire another Bulbapedian to carry on the line with this. In this I count Raticate, Haunter, Beedrill, and Larvitar as "officially caught" but not Seaking.
Slower computers may lag here!
Here goes then.
This is what the team looks like now and I am ready to take you all on a trip down memory lane.
Ash chooses Pikachu (well, less chooses and more sleeps in and has no choice). Oak gives him a Pokédex and some balls (Get your minds out of that gutter).
The idiot captures a Caterpie by luck and thinks that he is the best...
He then grabs a Pidgeotto after it almost eats Caterpie. Yeah, great idea there...
Team Rocket then attacks. Pidgeotto gets beaten easily and Pikachu takes a Sludge to the face. Caterpie then beats both Ekans and Koffing easily and then evolves into something his body needs very badly.
Ash has his first offical battle against some half mad Bug Catcher. Bees then steal his newest body part but somehow he gets it back. It then protects him and evolves into a Butterfree. While this is good, it stops me from making any dick jokes about it. Ah well.
After, erm, beating two Gyms with just three Pokémon, Ash encounters a badass Bulbasaur. Ash then captures it after a battle.
Some sick freak dumps his Charmander on a rock and ditches it. Ash has to get it to a centre during the rain. After giving the idiot a telling off in the form of a Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, Charmander joins his team. Fuck yes!
Another starer arrives here. Ash is having to sort out a group of misbehaving Squirtle, and the leader eventually joins his team after he saves it from Team Rocket. Pretty nice move there.
Ash now has six Pokémon at this point but his rival Gary has at least a million because he's Gary Motherfucking Oak. So Ash decides to catch another one, a Krabby. The ball disappears after capture and he wonders where the fuck it went. Pay attention next time idiot! How someone like him is already going for his third badge is beyond me...
Ash trades away his first capture? Pretty odd move, lets see if he sticks with it...
Of course... Strong feelings triumph and Ash trades back. I knew it was way too early for his tiny brain to make a serious choice like that right now anyway.
Maybe he can make a big choice after all. Releasing Butterfree was a big move on his part.
FUCK YES HE GETS A HAUNTER!
FUCK NO HE GIVES IT AWAY!
Oh this is one of his most epic captures so far...
He then wins a fighting tournament with it and then gives it to a guy who participated in that same tournament but lost. Idiot!
He then captures a Muk. Odd, I expected TR to get one first...
He then makes another odd choice by sending it to Oak, whom it later begins molesting. At least he didn't fucking release it.
He then catches 30. FUCKING. TAUROS in an episode that 4Kids were too soft to air simply because it involves guns despite them appearing, sometimes alongside bazookas in previous dubbed episodes. The herd promply cause poor Oak more chaos.
Oh, shit... This is when things get both good and bad at the same time...
If you don't know what happens in this episode, then where the fuck have you been!? In this very episode, a legend was born, whether Ash liked it or not...
In other not so epic news, Ash finds an Egg. Another big thing could be happening...
The Egg then hatched and Misty promply takes it off his hands because the writers don't want Ash taking care of a baby.
25 episodes later Ash reaches the league and finally uses Krabby in battle. In the league? The poor guy's going to get crushed!
Well shut my mouth... It sweeps the battle 3-0, evolving in the process.
Ash continues to climb up the ladder, briefly taking Muk of Oak's relieved hands because he needs some weedkiller.
Charizard then ruins it for him by deciding not to battle. Well, what did you expect, it's motherfucking Charizard! One good thing though. Pidgeotto finally evolves!
But then he releases it. Crap.
And that's it for the Kanto journey!
Ash begins his journey in the filler region of the Orange Islands by falling for another one of Team Rocket's tricks. When will he fucking learn!?
Ash then transforms into a superhero and saves a Lapras from a group of idiots who are beating it up for no reason. He then realizes that he is actually a Pokémon Trainer and catches it himself. Tracey promptly invites himself along, impressed with this rare act of heroics.
Ash then makes another capture, his heaviest so far. After this, his party remains full for more than three episodes which is amazing as far as Ash's team goes.
Muk returns to help Ash find Bulbasaur after it was kidnapped.
After everything is all sorted out, Muk returns to his favorite pastime... Raping Oak!
Snorlax then chooses the perfect time to be a lazy ass. Wonderful. With his battle against Drake coming up, Ash decides to go with "beginner's luck" once more and brings Tauros in return for Snorlax.
And he obviously loses, I mean, Drake has a fucking hacked Dragonite with ten moves and...
WAIT WTF HE ACTUALLY WON?!?!
Almost back at the mainland, Lapras has become obsolete. Ash fortunatly finds its family, so it goes back with them.
Back home, Ash leaves Tauros at Oak's to be with the rest. Lovely, one more rampaging bull for the poor molested Oak to look after. Fortunatly for him, Tracey decided to stay behind too, so he can lend a hand. Snorlax also stays at the lab, resulting in Ash's party being unchanged from the beginning of his time in the Orange Islands.
Told you it was a filler region!
Ok that's enough with the Filler Islands, now it's time to enter hell...
Everything seems normal at first in this strange land, but then TR decide to hunt something else! The first hint of strange things to come. Ash stops them and goes on his merry way though, so that's ok...
It's Butterfree V2.0! Almost... It's Heracross, and he loves Bulbasaur like Muk loves Oak. Well, at least he loves Bulbasaur's nectar. That's just as creepy...
Ash then catches a Chikorita with a crush on him. Poor Ash will never fully understand this though.
FUCK FUCK FUCK NO HE LEAVES CHARIZARD!!!!! It's offical, Johto truly is hell...
He then catches a timid little Cyndaquil to replace it.
And Ash then stores Heracross for his Tauros, because wants to win another competition.
Ash then asks for Heracross back, but Oak wants to do, erm, research... on it... yeah... so Ash oaks Tauros back. Try not to molest Oak like Muk does, you crazy bug...
Johto then launches another attack against the original 151 in the form of Ash leaving Squirtle to go and help his friends at the Squirtle Squad.
We then get another replacment in the form of a hyper little guy.
Ash has then realized that he has forgotten something... Pikachu... Grass... Fire... Water... Flying...! He then gets something extra special this time... A shiny Noctowl! Nice catch!
Ash catches a Beedrill during a tournament that he wins. The winner got to keep their catch...
But he gives it away. Ah well. Beedrill would likely have been Oak'd for the rest of the journey anyway because we can't have nice things in Johto.
A long while later. Ash has won another tournament with a Seaking but has to release it under the rules. He then enters a sumo tournament, and we all know who would really rock at that...
He then wins and sends Snorlax back.
Something finally evolves? Looks like there is still light at the end of the tunnel.
Kingler returns to Ash's team for a water type Pokémon tournament, giving Misty's Poliwhirl the old one-two hit KO. Ash then blows it when he gives Psyduck a headache...
Kingler is quickly knocked out by a Confusion and Ash loses his first non-league tournament. Kingler is later sent back to the lab, much to Oak's relief as Bayleef had attacked him earlier.
And we realise that we are still in Johto when Bulbasaur fianlly leaves Ash's party to give Oak a hand (or vine).
Ash wins a race against Gary and gets an Egg. Bet Misty takes this one too...
Nope. Looks like the writers can now trust Ash with minors. It's a Phanpy. That could be good when it evolves but since we're in Johto, it probably won't happen soon.
HE'S BACK BITCHES!
Snorlax also comes back for a while, good thing too because his Johto group were getting wiped in the battle for badge number 8.
The trio of Snorlax, Pikachu, and Charizard get Ash his last badge for the Johto League. About fucking time too, looks like we're nearly finished with this place. Charizard and Snorlax then leave.
While on his way to register for the league (don't you do this before getting the badges), Lapras makes a suprise return while Ash is sent on an errand to pick up an Egg. Hell yes, now he'll get that done and be at the league in no time!
Ok, so it was just temporary...
No problem, because Ash just got that Egg.
The Egg hatches just one episode later into a very timid Larvitar.
Ash finds Larvitar's mother shortly afterwards and leaves Larvitar with her. I bet he would have done the same thing with Phanpy if they had come across its mum too...
Ash finally reaches the league. He then brings out the haymaker who got a 3-0 win in a previous league battle...
And it promply gets injured while helping a group of Voltorb. Dammit Johto, that was a low blow... Squirtle returns instead.
Bulbasaur also returns for some ass kicking, but where's Charizard!?
Wow. Charizard returned like I wanted, and along come Muk, one of the Tauros, Snorlax, and Heracross for the party. One problem though... The team he has chosen to fight Gary doesn't have Pikachu in it! Very risky move there, but will it work?
Well blow me away, he actually did it... Next up is another full battle and Charizard hasn't had enough.
But Ash ends up losing after a thrilling battle. After picking himself up, he heads back home.
Johto makes one last assault in the form of Ash leaving everybody but Pikachu at Oak's...
No matter, because we survived Johto and are ready to begin fresh.
Ash reaches Hoenn, but TR steal Pikachu and leave the idiot Pokéless... He stops them however and makes a new friend in May too. Bonus.
So much for a fresh start Ash... He gets into a pattern by catching Hoenn's regional bird, Tailow.
Ash then catches a badass motherfucker in the form of Hoenn's grass starter, Treecko (seriously, I love this guy). Everyone then assumes that Ash will get Mudkip after this...
Hah, as if Ash was going to appreciate the power of Mudkips! He instead gets a very rash Corphish.
He also gets what has to be Hoenn's worst fire type...
Oh FUCK YES! Treecko evolves and cranks the badassary level up to 11!
Bulbasaur returns to meet May's new Bulbasaur. I think a relationship may be blossoming here...
Of course... Poor little Ash asks "What is love?" and sends Bulbasaur back shortly after.
Damn, why is his team suddenly so full of badass Pokémon + Torkoal? Tailow evolves and isn't released. Awesome!
Ash gets his first full party for quite a while after catching a very energetic Snorunt.
Snorunt evolves to make a pretty nice looking party. I'm almost impressed.
Despite this, he ends up losing in the league. After heading home, he learns about the Battle Frontier in Kanto. Yep you know what that means...
Kanto (Part 2)
Ok, back to the basics. Ash leaves from Pallet Town to beat the Battle Frontier. First of all though, he leaves Torkoal (yes!) and Glalie (no!) at Oak's Lab and takes his Johto underdog Phanpy out (well it was Phanpy's idea).
Charizard returns to battle an Articuno for Ash's first Frontier Symbol.
OMFG YES CHARIZARD BEAT ARTICUNO! Then leaves Ash again.....
Snorlax returns to fight alongside Grovyle for Ash's next Symbol.
Grovyle gets beaten easily... Snorlax then seizes the win and gets sent back afterwards.
Of course. Now that we have escaped Johto, an evolution was bound to happen soon...
Oh. Fuck. Yes. Grovyle evolves at last. Although he ends up completely useless for a short while after being rejected by a girl.
Heracross returns to help Ash against a Frontier Brain with a Venusaur... Hah, this should be good.
After going for Venusaur's nectar and getting flicked away by a Vine Whip, the two begin battling. Heracross ended up losing but Ash got his Symbol thanks to Swellow and the newly recovered Sceptile. Heracross then returns to harassing Bulbasaur.
A Tauros returns to help Ash in a battle for Symbol number 6.
After the team of Corphish, Tauros, and Pikachu lose in a first attempt, a second attempt sees them take the win. Tauros then goes back to the lab to boast about how it tied with a Metagross. We're getting close to the end...
That empty slot used for Ash's backup Pokémon in this arc is filled in by a VERY mischievous Aipom with a habit of stealing hats. Especially Ash's...
Ash brings back a certain fire type to help him get his last Symbol, and I think we all know who it is...
Wait, it's Torkoal? FUUUUUUUUCK!!!
Yeah, of course Ash loses, he used FUCKING TORKOAL! Torkoal goes back to the lab much to Oak's relief, as Aipom had attacked him just like Bayleef had before.
Ok, now you use Charizard... Bulbasaur and Squirtle return too. The original quartet get ready to fight for the last Symbol.
Despite Charizard falling much earlier than expected, Ash is finally able to get that last Symbol and conquer the Battle Frontier. As Bulbasaur, Charizard, and Squirtle leave, we are left to wonder, what's next?
Well, this is what's next. Ash wants to go to the Sinnoh region now, so he leaves everyone but Pikachu at Oak's. I guess this wasn't just a "Johto thing". A certain cheeky monkey isn't going to take this though.....
And now we're off to Sinnoh... Whoa! Wait a minute, who's that?
Yep, Aipom has snuck onto the party, not wanting to take this Johto bullshit lying down.
Ash proves that old habits never die by catching a Starly, mainly to help him find Pikachu after TR take it again.
A short while afterwards, Ash gets a Turtwig in a very similar manner to Bulbasaur.
This came much earlier than I thought...
Almost 50 episodes later (seriously?), Ash takes in the Chimchar that his rival Paul abandoned. It's Charmander all over again with this little guy!
Shortly afterwards, Ash makes a trade that he actually doesn't bail out of! He trades Aipom for a badass Buizel that Dawn had.
Then we get a totally unexpected capture. Ash gets a crybaby Gligar.
Things then go from unpredictable from predictable. Gligar evolves and becomes a pretty good battler.
Then along comes the newly evolved Grotle who proves that evolution isn't always the best choice. Since then, it's been a bit mediocre...
Staravia finally evolves in a similar fashion to Swellow, but quoting Paul, "It sure took you long enough".
Chimchar FINALLY evolves during Ash's first full battle with Paul. It's just like Charmeleon without the disobediance...
Gliscor is then left behind for training in a very similar fashion as Charizard. Looks like Staraptor will have to pull double duty for now.
Wow, Ash gets his first dragon. And this one's a better Totodile as far as looks go.
Fiery Legend #2 is born when Monferno evolves and makes our dreams come true...
Everyone is still getting over then new Infernape when another evolution happens... But this one should never have happened... The unholy spawn from hell known as Ash's Torterra has been born, and will forever doom the species to a life of ridicule...
Seriously, it should have just stayed as Grotle...
Ash reaches the league and pleases us all with the decision to use some of his older Pokémon in the league too (sadly no Charizard). He starts training with Snorlax, Bayleef, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Corphish. During a TR attack, Cyndaquil FINALLY FUCKING EVOLVES!!!!!
He later uses Muk (who still loves molestation), Noctowl, Donphan, Torkoal (oh boy), and Glalie (yes) for more training before the league starts.
For a 3v3 battle in the first round, Ash chooses to use Staraptor, Quilava, and Heracross for the battle. Heracross becomes a badass fighter with Sleep Talk and Focus Punch, and gets Ash the win.
Ash is briefly seen winning his second round with Snorlax. The other two Pokémon he uses aren't known.
Ash decides to use Glalie, Torterra, and Infernape for the next round... I can pick out one who'll be dead weight.
Well, he would have if he hadn't changed his mind at the last minute... He won anyway so it doesn't matter.
Now for another full battle against Paul. Ash gets his Sinnoh party back together and Gliscor even returns! It's time to rumble!
Yes, the battle actually took three fucking episodes... It's over with now and for the semi-finals, Ash is up against some hacker with his so called unbeatable Darkrai.
Despite Ash's best efforts (Sceptile beat that Darkrai!) he ends up losing...
Now that Sinnoh is done with, you know what's next, right?
Yep, he leaves everyone but Pikachu again..... Haven't you ever wondered how they might feel about this, Ash?
At least Gliscor's back. But if that one can return from training with someone else... then there's still hope for Charizard.
Either way, Sinnoh is finished and it's time for me to make history by making this page the only one of its kind to go into the Unova region...
Ash begins his Unova journey by saving Pikachu from a mysterious new TR and promply embarrasses himself in a battle (Come on, what the fuck were you doing losing to that n00b?). An Oshawott also begins following him.
I called this one! Ash stays true to his pattern by catching a Pidove. New TR then take Pikachu again but the same Oshawott from before stops them.
Ash catches the Oshawott that was stalking him and gains a new fan in the form of a sunglasses wearing Sandile, who begins following him.
Trends continue as Ash takes in an abandoned Tepig who later helps stop yet another New TR Pikachu capture.
New TR suprisingly leave Ash alone as he tries several times and eventually suceeds in catching a female Snivy who just oozes classiness...
Ash gets another Egg after helping some kids fix a problem involving their teacher and a Trubbish. Sunglasses Sandile also returned and was sent blasting off in battle. No capture yet I guess...
Ash's Egg hatches into the FIRST dark type owned by a main character. About time, I wondered why they avoided doing that before this...
Just one episode later, Ash catches another Pokémon. A ninja bug called Sewaddle with epic String Shot swinging skills! But that leaves him with seven Pokémon... What's next?
At this point, we know that Ash will be regularly rotating members of his Unova team in and out. That could be confusing...
In other news, Pidove becomes his first Unova Pokémon to evolve, becoming Tranquill.
Sewaddle evolves shortly afterwards during a Gym battle, which is a first and may continue to be a regular in the series.
After a bit of a gap, Ash catches an incredibly badass Palpitoad with the help of Oshawott.
Oh come on Ash! Slow the fuck down! He now catches a Roggenrola, bringing his count up to 9...
Ugh, I know I told you to slow down, but geez... Anyway, Roggenrola evolves during a Gym battle.
Ash finally catches the Sunglasses Krokorok, who had evolved during a previous battle against Pikachu. Well done Ash, it only took you about 62 fucking episodes...
It's official. Evolutions during Gym battles are the new craze in the BW series. Tranquill evolving during another one proves it.
Not one to be left out, Swadloon decided "Fuck this, I need some legs" and promptly evolved.
Tepig finally reunites with his old trainer and discovers how much of a sadistic and uncaring asshole he is. Thanks to Snivy's help though, he was able to get over this and evolve. Pignite then got to blast that soulless creep's face with a Flamethrower. It made Charmander feel better and by god it made Pignite feel better too.
Much later, Krokorok cranks the badass level up to 9001 by evolving into Krookodile and defeating Iris's Dragonite one on one in front of a huge crowd.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT HE'S FINALLY BACK! Too bad this came after Ash fucked up royally at the league...
To make room for this return, Ash sends the severely underused Unfezant to Oak. Good move since this bird was a serious letdown when compared to Swellow and Staraptor.
Ash then wastes both his and our time by wandering around some pointless Orange Islands remake with no captures (though he very nearly got a Dunsparce), and it's now the end of Unova already? Way too short if you ask me...
And we all know what that means... Even Charizard's staying at the lab this time, which is both disappointing and incredible.
He's back, and this time for good...
Time for Kalos! Well, once you take a picture with every single Pokémon you have before vanishing from their lives once again. Bastard.
We're breaking trends already, Pikachu arrives unharmed in Kalos. No electric overload, no immediate TR kidnap, and no getting his ass kicked by a new trainer after being nerfed by Zekrom.
There was a capture attempt though, which Kermit the Frog helped foil.
Oh, so it's called Froakie and it joined Ash? Here's hoping that this one is less annoying than Oshawott.
Seriously, I was legitimately hoping that he'd be released in that one episode during Orange Islands 2.0.
Froakie proves its worth by helping Ash catch his usual little bird. Hopefully this one won't be as neglected as Unfezant.
Also, it saves Ash from catching a Fire type later on. Double duty rules.
And then Froakie battles a somewhat bigger bird. One that kicks ass.
Then Fletchling evolves, which is good since his other Fire types were either Torkoal, owned by an asshole, or hunted by an asshole. Nice to have something fresh for once.
Now it's Froakie evolving? He hasn't evolved a Water type since good old Kingler...
His second basic stage of a pseudo-legendary? Maybe he'll actually, you know, fully evolve this one?
Well, blow me down. He actually did evolve this one. Look at Ash getting one up on Iris. XD
Wait, what? Ash has a Goodra?!
That jab about Goomy was in jest! Is this really Ash or have we started following someone competant for once?
Released!? SAY IT AIN'T SO!! Why would you go and release your strongest Pokémon since Infernape?! Possibly the worst thing he's since leaving Charizard behind!
Goodra had better fucking return for the league like Gliscor did, I swear...
Call me a cruel fucker, but this baby Dragon-type has got one hell of a legacy to fill in. It's also the third Flying type in his team.
...I have to ask, is that really necessary?
Fletchinder evolves in an awesome battle against a fucking Moltres and singlehandedly fills in the void of raw power caused by Goodra's departure.
Yes, I'm still salty about that.
Now Frogadier's evolved, which is cool. Not the biggest fan of that silly Ash-Greninja form, but the evolution is still good.
What could be next?
Now Noibat's going to evolve soon. Absolutely absurd.
Seriously, it's done absolutely nothing since learning to fly, hasn't battled any other trainers, still knows only Supersonic after nearly 25 episodes, and now it's just gonna evolve? No, I'm not buying this growth spurt.
Thanks a lot, writers. I swear that you guys like Noivern too damn much...</center>
