| There are also eight categories of Pokémon, plus an additional 'voiceless' category. The category a Pokémon belongs to determines the set of responses it will give. There are four personality types (no official names that I know of, but I'll be calling them Tough, Cute, Slow and Scary), and these are further divided depending on whether or not the Pokémon leaves a footprint, giving eight categories in all. Voiceless Pokémon are separate, and give the same response no matter what, although Dr. Footstep will still award them a ribbon at maximum happiness.
