Who am I?
As mentioned above, you can call me Chao*. I'm just an average fan of Pokémon anime and manga. So far, I have watched all four series*, and read through most sagas in AdventuresTemplate:Tt*. I am also an avid reader of RéBURST. I have been a fan of the franchise for seven years. But despite that, I have never played any of the official games. I didn't discover Bulbapedia until some years later. And after lurking for so long, I finally joined Bulbapedia on April 28, 2010. So after two years, I still am an ordinary member here, but I have no intentions on becoming a part of the staff*.
Where I'm from?
Go figure, but looks can be deceiving.
What I do?
I spent two years here, and most of my contribution are as follow:
- Adding/updating information on the Chinese side of Pokémon
- Pokémon, characters and places (names and etymology/references)
- Moves and abilities (names and translations)
- Episode titles
Now, I'm planning to redo it to keep up with the current standards. Since I'm lazy feeling estranged from it, I also do some other stuff:
- Translation of Japanese songs (I'm still not fluent in this language)
- RéeBURST-related stuff (Assuming Ataro hasn't added it yet)
Why I'm not around as much?
Of course I am, I'm just lurking. Other than that I'm doing work in another wiki (shameless plug). Besides, there's nothing much to edit, since I've pretty much added everything. What's left for me to do is some minor edits, fixing my mess, or finish these pages.
Name Origin
The name is Chao is simply taken from Chaolong. But despite the similarities, it has nothing to do with Chaoboo or Chao from Sonic, although the etymological root of Chao and Chaoboo may be the same. (Taiwanese localization team says otherwise...)
If you do think of oolong when you see my romanized username, you're not alone. On the note of oolong, it has several meanings. The literal would be "black dragon" (Guess which non-shiny legendary dragon Pokémon is my favorite*). The second would be the food reference: the oolong tea (obviously) and udon noodles. The third is "muddled" or "silly"...
