Toucannon's flock is a group of recurring Pokémon that appeared in the Sun & Moon series. The flock consists of multiple Pikipek, who are led by a Trumbeak and Toucannon. They were also the foster family of Rowlet before Ash caught it.

Toucannon hatching the Pikipek Eggs

Toucannon is the leader of the flock and acts as the main caregiver, looking after the young members of the group whilst hatching the Eggs.

Toucannon debuted in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, waiting at its nest for the Pikipek, Trumbeak, and Rowlet to return with fruit. Rowlet was banished from the flock by Trumbeak after it brought a wind chime back to the group instead. Toucannon continued to think of Rowlet, particularly when it first hatched from an Egg alongside the Pikipek. It was later surprised to see Rowlet return to the nest, but the reunion was interrupted by Team Rocket's arrival. Toucannon and the others were caught in launch nets and Team Rocket grabbed the Berries the Flying Pokémon had taken from Bewear. Rowlet went on to save the flock, and Toucannon successfully encouraged Rowlet to join Ash.

In A Seasoned Search!, Toucannon was briefly reunited with Rowlet when Ash and Mallow visited its nest to see if its flock knew where to find Yellow Nectar. However, they didn't know where to find it.

In Securing the Future!, Toucannon and Trumbeak helped Necrozma regain its true form by giving it some of their Z-Power.

In No Stone Unturned!, Rowlet revisited the group after losing to Hau and his Dartrix. Trumbeak used Bullet Seed alongside Toucannon, which helped teach Rowlet to master Seed Bomb.

Personality and characteristics

Toucannon has a caring personality, as shown when it was looking after the young Pikipek and Rowlet. Its accepting attitude towards Rowlet, and its obvious differences from the rest of the flock, helped the other members feel compassion for Rowlet as well. Toucannon is particularly supportive of Rowlet, even since it left the nest, and has grown to be more comfortable around Ash as seen in No Stone Unturned!, where it helped Rowlet to learn Seed Bomb. It also gets annoyed whenever someone touches its beak, as seen when Rotom did so to see if it felt hot, making Toucannon intentionally heat up its beak to burn Rotom.

There is one Trumbeak in the group. Its role in the group is to lead the Pikipek during their search for food.

Trumbeak first appeared in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, leading the Pikipek in taking fruit from the citizens of Hau'oli City. The people of Melemele Island allow the group of Pikipek to take their fruit so that people and Pokémon can live in harmony. After taking the fruit back to their nest, it was discovered that Rowlet had accidentally brought a wind chime instead of fruit. Trumbeak scolded Rowlet for this and banished it from the flock.

The next day, Trumbeak led the Pikipek out once more to get more food and invaded Bewear's den and took all the Berries. Returning to the nest, Trumbeak congratulated Rowlet who had returned with a melon before the group was attacked by Team Rocket who were trying to get Bewear's berries back. With help from Ash, Rowlet managed to save them. Trumbeak was grateful for Rowlet's efforts and hugged it goodbye as it left to join Ash's team.

Trumbeak reappeared in A Seasoned Search!, where it was briefly reunited with Rowlet when Ash and Mallow visited its nest to see if its flock knew where to find Yellow Nectar. However, they didn't know where to find any.

Trumbeak reappeared in Securing the Future! alongside Toucannon, where they helped Necrozma regain its true form by giving it some of their Z-Power.

Rowlet revisited the flock in No Stone Unturned!, after its loss to Hau and his Dartrix. Trumbeak used Bullet Seed alongside Toucannon, which helped Rowlet to learn Seed Bomb.

Personality and characteristics

Trumbeak and Rowlet

Trumbeak is rather stern, but caring all the same. It went on to banish Rowlet from the flock in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style! after several misdemeanors including failing to bring food back to the nest and falling asleep during a scolding. Trumbeak's compassionate nature was shown later on when Rowlet returned with a large melon, and again when it defeated Team Rocket.

The Pikipek's Eggs

There are multiple Pikipek in the group that are hatched from Eggs. The youngest Pikipek members remain in the nest with Toucannon, while the older Pikipek go out with Trumbeak to gather food for the flock.

The Pikipek first appeared in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, taking fruit from the citizens of Hau'oli City, who had come to accept the raids and willingly offer their produce to maintain the peace. The next day, the Pikipek and Trumbeak invaded Bewear's den and took her stored up Berries. Later, back at their nest, the group was attacked by Team Rocket who were trying to retrieve Bewear's berries. Even though it was banished from the group earlier, Rowlet saved them. They thanked it and then watched as Rowlet left the group to join Ash.

A trio of Pikipek reappeared in A Seasoned Search!, where they were briefly reunited with Rowlet when Ash and Mallow visited the nest to see if the flock knew where to find Yellow Nectar. However, they didn't know where to find it.

Five of them reappeared in No Stone Unturned!, when Rowlet visited the group family after losing to Hau and his Dartrix.

Personality and characteristics

The Pikipek are friendly Pokémon and seem to have a good bond with Rowlet. They are usually seen together as a flock and follow Trumbeak around whenever they are collecting fruit.

Rowlet was accidentally hatched into the group from an Egg, but it was quickly accepted as a member of the flock. Having brought a wind chime back to the den, Rowlet was banished from the group in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!. Rowlet later returned to the group with a melon which Ash had given it, hoping to catch it. It later freed the group from Team Rocket who attempted to get Bewear's Berries back. Toucannon, realizing that Rowlet would be happy with Ash, gave it permission to leave the flock, which it did.

Rowlet has revisited the flock on several occasions, including in A Seasoned Search!, and also in No Stone Unturned!, after its loss to Hau and his Dartrix, where it mastered Seed Bomb after some guidance from its family.
