Tierno's Wartortle (Japanese: ティエルノのカメックス Tierno's Kamex) is Tierno's first Pokémon.
History
Wartortle is the Starter Pokémon Tierno received as a Squirtle from Professor Sycamore. It is a friendly Pokémon that often dances with its Trainer. It also uses its nimble dance moves to outmaneuver its opponents in battle, using them to defeat a Trainer's Conkeldurr as well as Ash's Froakie. Wartortle was used again in the Triple Battle against Ash's Pikachu, Serena's Fennekin and Clemont's Chespin alongside Shauna's Bulbasaur and Trevor's Charmander, where it defeated Fennekin but lost to Pikachu. It also was seen in a flashback in Showdown at the Shalour Gym!.
Squirtle was also seen in a flashback in Showdown at the Shalour Gym!.
It was also seen battling Clembot and his Heliolisk at the Lumiose Gym in a flashback as a Squirtle. While the outcome of this battle is unknown, Tierno did win the Voltage Badge.
It appeared again in Good Friends, Great Training! where it was revealed to have evolved into Wartortle. It first emerged with Tierno's other Pokémon and performed a dance with his other Pokémon. It was later captured by Team Rocket along with Raichu and Sliggoo. After using Water Gun on Team Rocket, Jessie had Pumpkaboo use Shadow Ball which broke the machine and caused them to fall down a cliff and reunite with Tierno and Bonnie. After reuniting with Ash and Serena and Sliggoo evolving into Goodra, it had a Double Battle against Pikachu and Goodra and fought well but lost.
Personality and characteristics
Wartortle matched Tierno's personality as shown when it mimicked Tierno's dance moves very well normally.
