The Pokémon Company is an affiliate of Nintendo that handles licensing and marketing for the Pokémon franchise.

According to the company's timeline, it began operations in 1998 with the opening of the first Pokémon Center retail store in Tokyo. Its trademark of Pokémon Ltd. was established in 2000.

Outside of Japan, The Pokémon Company's subsidiary is The Pokémon Company International, formed in 2009 from the merge of Pokémon USA and Pokémon UK.
