:To speed up this process, would anyone support replacing the "This video is not available on Bulbapedia" text with specific text saying that the template is outdated and should be replaced if any editor sees it? (It would probably also have to include the disclaimer that [[Template:YouTubeEmbed]] requires approval first before using, so editors can't just do a 1-for-1 replacement everywhere.) Distortion
I believe there's either a bug or limitation in the current code that breaks the template if the YouTube username exceeds a certain number of characters. An example of this issue is available here. ポケモンあいこうか 21:06, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

- The extension used by this template, and by extension the template itself, is unsatisfactory for a few technical reasons. It has been replaced by Template:YouTubeEmbed. As a related issue, the embedding of youtube videos on larger pages was leading to loading issues, due to their extremely large load size, so the new template requires approval for use.
