Desperately needs an update

I'll start simple: I want to do a new Trainer card infobox. It'd still use title, jname, jtrans, image, caption and type, but from what I've drafted, it would no longer use name, and it would henceforth use class. These are my arguments for a new infobox:

  1. First of all, the classification isn't right anymore, because a Trainer card is classed as either a Trainer, Supporter or Stadium. As such, a {{{class}}} argument needs introducing. {{{type}}} can stay because the official site lists stuff like Pokémon Tool and Technical Machine as being Trainer Type.
  2. Secondly, what good is the {{{name}}} argument? Seriously? It links right back to that page. It's utterly useless. I completely understand why the redirects exist, it's just easier to use Template:TCG to link to, for example, Poké Ball. But there's no reason for the redirect to be linked to on the page. Hence, the {{{name}}} argument needs to go.

During the time it's taken me to outline this, I've even done a draft, which you can find here. Input is greatly appreciated. Cipher 20:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree that the name argument has no use on Trainer cards. There hasn't been another Bill card with completely different effects, unlike what's the case with all of the Pokémon.
Class would be good. TTEchidna 22:20, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I've been testing out this template in the Sandbox and it looks like the {{{name}}} clause can be removed from this template without it causing problems on pages - a clause on a page simply won't show up if the clause is absent from the template itself. Cipher 16:19, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

With the current template, it doesn't show up nicely *cough* Brock (Gym Heroes 15)--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 21:35, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
