I have an idea

Instead of separating by generation, can we make a catch entry template that merges all of Kanto's games? It can look something like this.

Bulbasaur	R		B		Y		G		S		C		FR		LG		HG		SS		Grass	1	100%

Hopefully this can work with the Pokémon that appear in all four generations with Kanto with the same rarity. - unsigned comment from SeanWheeler (talk • contribs)

Considering the differences in rarities, the fact that some games use night and day, the level differences, etc. this would be a huge mess of a template without some sort of fixing. --It's Funktastic~!_{話してください} 22:51, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

I also have an idea, this one about Japanese Blue

Since some talks on pages about Generation I areas mention differences for the Japanese Blue Version, and since this is an encyclopedia, it might be a good idea to add a column about the wild Pokemon for that particular version.

Originally, I was thinking of adding a green column "G" for the Japanese Green/US Blue and making the current blue column "B" the Japanese Blue (which would match the table on Game-exclusive Pokémon for Gen I, but that might be a little confusing, especially for people new to Pokemon. Plus it might require a disclaimeer like on the above page to explain. So instead it might be better to add another blue-colored column with "B(J)", which would be easier for readers to understand.

Of course this would mean having to go through Kanto locations pages to update Gen I Pokemon, but with help from the Japanese Bulbapedia it should be a smoother, albeit time-consuming task.

Sorry, if I had realized this page wasn't locked, I probably would have responded sooner to at least have a tempering voice.

I'm honestly not sure we should care about Japanese Blue enough to put it in our tables. We're a wiki for the English games. The Japanese Blue games are very explicitly Japanese only; while it's easy enough for us to note a few differences here and there, like trades, I'm inclined to think that it's not worth it for us (again, an English wiki) to record ALL Japanese Blue encounters. You're probably right about all that, especially since fishing/surfing and items (I think) are exactly the same for Japanese Blue as it is for Red/Japanese Green/Int. Blue. I just figured if someone was really interested, they could have a quick way of looking it up. I meant to put them in more for trivia purposes rather than to be used as any kind of guide like much of Bulbapedia. I really appreciate your insight!
