- Today is Rica Matsumoto's birthday. She was born on November 30, 1968 in Yokohama, Japan.
- Rica is a well-known seiyu, or voice actor. She is often cast as young male characters, and is perhaps best known for her role as Satoshi (Ash Ketchum) in Pokémon.
- Other voices Rica has performed for Pokémon include Giovanni's Persian and Chansey.
- Rica is also an accomplished vocalist. She has released five solo albums and has also recorded for the group JAM Project. She can also be heard in several Pokémon openings, including the first opening "Aim to Be a Pokémon Master" and the recent "Best Wishes!".
- Rica has also acted in Japanese dubs of American films, including The Little Mermaid (as Flounder) and The Land Before Time (as Cera).
