Could we take out the part about Swanna being inspired by Odette? I don't think there is nearly enough evidence to say that. Besides the fact that both characters are swans I see no simmilarity. Swanna isn't cursed and it does not seem to have any connection with royalty or nobility. The ugly duckling theory makes more sense and it wasn't accepted so could we please remove it.--'''[[User:EpicShadow|Epic]][[User talk:EpicShadow|Shadow]]''' 16:22, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Name Origin

What do you think of the possibility of its name being derived from the prima ballerina of the Moscow Imperial Bolshoi Theatre Anna Sobeshchanskaya, who had the main role of Odette/Odile in the 1877 ballet Swan Lake and Anna Pavlova, widely regarded as one of the finest classical ballet dancers in history and was most recognised for the creation of the role The Dying Swan, which influenced modern interpretation of the Swan Lake. -.-... really... it's a swan named swanna. don't think GF put that much thought into it...Vkickass 02:16, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

The feathers at the top and sides of Swanna's head are actually very similar to Odette's head piece from the ballet, so it very well could be the inspiration. Also, this could be mere coincidence, but it's pose is also somewhat reminiscent of the first position in ballet Vienna Waltz 10:21, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

maybe it was influenced a little (like the fact its in the pic for the musical) from swan lake. but that's probably it. Vkickass 17:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Alternate Origin?

My imagination or Swanna was also based on the Ugly Duckling story? Just look at it's pre-evolution. It seems a little bit similar to the story. --Shining Latios 05:21, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

I second that, yo. It's pre-evolution IS pretty unsightly, looking at the sprite, plus the name origin states that its name could mean 'small duck' or 'duck child' which is essentially what a duckling is. --PantheonSasuke 00:04, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
I disagree...Swanna's pre evo is adorable. Also the Ugly Duckling is already on Koaruhii's article, someone just didn't put it on here Ataro 00:19, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I have my doubts

Could we take out the part about Swanna being inspired by Odette? I don't think there is nearly enough evidence to say that. Besides the fact that both characters are swans I see no simmilarity. Swanna isn't cursed and it does not seem to have any connection with royalty or nobility. The ugly duckling theory makes more sense and it wasn't accepted so could we please remove it.--EpicShadow 16:22, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
