Poison

Ive been doing some contemplating. Does Toxic orb affect a Steel Pokemon? What about Effect Spore?User:DCM 14:33, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
No. --User:Thekillernacho14:34:36, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
No Guessing. has this been tested?User:DCM 14:39, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes. It has been determined impossible to poison a Steel-type by any means. In Gen II, it was possible to poison a Steel-type using Twineedle, but even that was removed now, since Gen III. Besides, there is nothing keeping you for testing it for yourself. I've tested Toxic Orb on Steels personally, and from various searches, it appears there is a 0% chance for Effect Spore to poison a Steel-type. There is some question about how Effect Spore alternately affects Steels, since the effect of Effect Spore has a 30% chance to give a status to the attacker. Does Paralyze and Sleep stay at a 10% chance, or is both increased to 15%? Further research would be required about this. --User:Thekillernacho15:40:08, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
It is technically possible for a steel type Pokemon to be poisoned, but not to become poisoned. For example, if a Pineco is poisoned and then evolves into Foretress, it will be poisoned. All regular effects of poison will remain in place. The same goes for a poisoned Arceus that has been given a Iron Plate. While this is not notable, it is still interesting.--Skaisdead 19:26, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
What about using the move Fling with a Toxic Orb? It poisons the target and is still a Normal move, right? [[Derian]] 13:10, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
