Playing my LeafGreen version, I remember trying to wake up my Electrode several times using the Poke Flute, only for said item to play its "catchy tune" with no effect. The Electrode I had was one with Soundproof. Could someone test the Poke Flute on a sleeping Pokemon with the Soundproof ability for me? Prince Marx 16:13, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- I tried to wake up my Mr.Mime with the Poke Flute, and since he was Soundproof it didn't wake up. So that ability also has this negative side effect.
- Tested the colored Flutes and they work in HGSS on Soundproof Pokémon. If someone else can help me with the testing of this in other games it would be nice (I'll do it eventually). --SnorlaxMonster 12:52, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Unaffected sound moves?
Isn't the definition of a "sound move" a move negated by Soundproof? It's like having a list of punching moves not affected by Iron Fist...--MisterE13 22:14, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
We have some new sound based moves introduced in Gen V: Canon, Bark Out, Echo Voice, Ancient Song and maybe some other. Are this moves affected by Soundproof? --ЫъГЬ 12:25, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
