NOT invulnerable

Shadow Force prevents most attacks from hitting, but the Pokémon using it can still take damage from status effects and weather conditions. It can also be penetrated by ANY attack if the opponent uses Mind Reader or Lock-on before the Pokémon vanishes (found that out the hard way...). Diachronos 16:35, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

In the Anime?

There's several points in the movie where Giratina dodges attacks by disappearing. [1] It's never named, and it never uses it to attack, but isn't that supposed to be Shadow Force? --Phred 00:09, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

I thought that the tornado thing was a more specific ability not available in-game, whereas his Disappearing Act was actually Shadow Force. Any more thoughts on this? --Solovino 17:56, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Quick Guard and Wide Guard

What about the effects of these when Shadow Force attacks? Pokémon 21:06, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Shadow Force is not a priority move and it doesn't hit multiple opponents so neither of those moves will have an effect. Dilophosaurus Rex 10:46, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Just about to ask this question. Sure, it's not affected by them, but does it break them? Feint breaks Wide Guard despite not hitting multiple targets. --SnorlaxMonster 12:55, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Wide Guard is simple to test, as all you need is a Pokémon slower than the user of Shadow Force.

However, for Quick Guard you need a ridiculously specific situation. The issue here is that Quick Guard only blocks priority moves, and Shadow Force is not a priority move, so usually they would go after it. However, if you have something with Prankster use it via Assist while holding a Power Herb, Pokémon that are slower than it can still use +1 priority moves. Unfortunately, I don't have a Prankster Purrloin (only Prankster Pokémon that also gets Assist) or a Giratina in BW, so I can't test this.
