Damage category

Can someone double-check this move's damage category? (Counter/Mirror Coat is the easiest way.) It appears there was some controversy in the edit history about it, and the move doesn't make contact (something more common of special moves). Also, Veekun says it is a special move. --SnorlaxMonster 11:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Shadow Blast is Physical

While it's true that Shadow Blast doesn't make contact, much like Aeroblast, Shadow Blast is of the Physical damage category. I can prove that by directing your attention to the game's coding; in this slot 0xBC04F3, Physical damage is 1, Special damage is 2. Not only that, Shadow Blast causes Counter to react instead of Mirror Coat. If you don't believe me, I can make a video or give snapshots proving it.IM-T-MAN2 (talk) 13:39, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
