Origin

Shouldn't the sea lion be put as the origin of this one? Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 20:32, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Name

Name of final evo is Daikenki.--Makupe 12:59, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

I was not home at the time..Ataro 17:19, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

ah, sorry, but still, thats the final evo's name. XD--Makupe 18:24, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

I've been searching around and I saw that Daikenki's English name is Samurott and Futachimaru's English name is Dewott, possibly to relate to Mijumaru's English name. --Kitsune1300 23:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

We already know. Those probably are the correct English names, but they havn't been confirmed by an indisputable source yet. Just wait until something official (like CoroCoro or a TCG card) reveals the names.--Alex726(TALK) 01:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Kanji possibilities

Somebody from 2ch summed them up quite nicely (even though I have no access to 2ch being outside of Japan, I found this while snooping around in Google):

大剣鬼 大犬鬼 大賢鬼

大剣騎 大犬騎 大賢騎

大剣亀 大犬亀 大賢亀

大剣姫 大犬姫 大賢姫

The top-left one is the one I suggested. Perhaps there are better options than "sword demon"? Ztobor 02:05, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

2 legged swordfighting confirmation

I found confirmation and am going to put it back in Biology now kthx. http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_chu/5213691639/sizes/l/in/photostream/Mada-sama (Talk to me!)— 11:15, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok he does fight on two legs. What I'm wondering, though, is where did it get that sword thing that's in it's hand/paw? The shell armor on each of it's legs is clearly still in place so where did that sword come from?--Alex726(talk) 15:12, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh I see now. If you look at the shell armor on the foreleg that isn't holding the sword you can see that only the two segments of armor that are closest to the paw are there. The third segment that also has the spike is missing so it must be the sword that Daikenki is holding. That must mean that the first two segments of shell armor on each of its forelegs must be the scabbard for the swords it uses in battle. Should we add this information to the article?--Alex726(talk) 22:26, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry but that picture is of terrible quality. I can barely make out anything PDL 21:47, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
While I agree with you that it isn't of amazing quality, it is still more than good enough to clearly see that Daikenki is holding a sword and the spike from the shell armor on its foreleg is missing. That means that the spike is the sword and the rest of the armor that is still on the foreleg is the scabbard, or sheath.--Alex726(TALK) 02:56, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Just curious here, I was wondering if Daikenki is bipedal or quadrupedal (meaning walks on 4 legs or two)? It seems from the picture in the article that it could be bipedal, however in all of the official artwork it is quadrupedal? Maybe it's possibly both, like bipedal in battle and quadrupedal outside of battle? Anyone know for sure? --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 04:47, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Narwhal?

Is it possibly based on one of those? Vemoth 00:38, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

No, the creators stated that it's a Sea Lion and Otter combination Ataro 00:53, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Remember that origins can be a combination of multiple things; I think narwhals could be a quite plausible origin. - 050294 10:32, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
The developer is insisting that the Helmet is kabuto. [1] I think that it is a mixture of kabuto and Murex.Sawamular101 15:45, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

True, it's clearly Kabuto/Murex combination. The only similarities with narwhal are being aquatic mammals and having a horn.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 16:55, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Air slash

Can we say that only Daikengi along with its evolution line alongwith Kurumiru are the only non-flying type that can learn air slash?- unsigned comment from Meearaimeng (talkcontribs)

No we can't because Crown Suicune and Fan Rotom* also know it.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 14:19, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
i mean for non legendary and non event pokemon.jomphol 14:53, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Well, Fan Rotom wasn't event Pokémon in HGSS and we still shouldn't mention that.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 14:56, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Sword of DAIKENKI

The name of the sword is Ashigatana. [2] It is a combination of "Ashika( Sea Lion)" and "Katana/Gatana(Sword)". Sawamular101 23:46, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

English Name Confirmed

Official english name is Samurott. Source: [[3]] Not enough proof? Wait 'till March. You'll see. - unsigned comment from Benboy803 (talkcontribs)

No it's not confirmed. Look at the green banner above. Fansites are not offficial. So it's not added. --Pokemaster97 19:49, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Back Sprite

Is Samurott's back sprite the only one to change in a single generation among starters or starter final evo? If so is it worth mentioning...? - unsigned comment from Vocal (talkcontribs)

We don't do sprite trivia, since the sprite section is practically above the trivia section, so the reader can see for himself/herself. Also, all forms of the Unova starters had changes in their sprite animations. Because of these two reasons, no. Berrenta (talk) 13:24, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
