It's Mahri. I think they were going for something exotic (but it reminds me of mahi-mahi, myself)
Wikipedia's Orange Island Gym Leaders Page talks about a Jeremy in the Dengeki Pikachu manga that seems obviously based on Rudy, but then again Rudy also appears in that manga too? I haven't read the manga, and I didn't find anything about a Jeremy on a Google search. Anyone have anything to back that up? --Greengiant 18:13, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
I'd be willing to bet even if the name was different, that this is a Lorelei/Prima situation - with the character being the same in Japanese but ending up with two different English names due to translators not checking to see if it was a recurring, already-named character. --Zeta 21:16, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Viz mistranslated his name. The "Jeremy" is just Viz's mistake (in the Japanese version the name was Jigii, the same as in anime) and he's the same character, with completely same story. Viz also mistranslated the Island's name they used the name Citron Island (which is an official translation of Yuzu no Jima, the Japanese name of this island) but in the anime the English name was Trovita Island. But these are just errors, just errors. We'll use the names from anime. - Maxim
The Jeremy error
I have heard that the error was only present in the translation which ran in Nintendo Power and was later corrected in Viz's Tankobon Version. Is it true? --Maxim 16:33, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
- I have heard somewhere that this is indeed the case. The hatnote that was originally on Jeremy (anime) while it was still located at just plain Jeremy listed the error as occuring in "some English versions" of the manga in question, meaning it could have been bum in English serialization but fixed in English volume. Unfortunately, the implication that a fixed version could (and probably does) exist didn't quite make it onto the disambig page...--Shiningpikablu252 04:07, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
