Jun why isn't Jun included in this article seeing how he is the main Rival in Diamond and Pearl

Are Dawn and Lucas really considered rivals? You never battle them, and most of the time their Pokemon aren't as strong as yours.

Wally CAN weaken!

- No, it's not. Psychic is 1x against Grass. If you compared this to a Template:Type2 and Bulbasaur, that would be the case as Bulbasaur is part Poison-type. Treecko is only Grass, therefore it doesn't apply. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 22:40, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Rival
The article is about TRAINER CLASS named Rival, not sort of characters. Brendan, May, Wally, Lucas, Dawn and Barry never had this title so they shouldn't be there. Maybe there should be a separate article on Rivals (character) and Rival (the class). --Maxim 14:43, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

May and Brendan - Psuedo Rivals?
I don't think May and Brendan should be in the same category as Dawn and Lucas. You never battle Dawn and Lucas. May and Brendan are a different story. I don't think Dawn and Lucas should even be on this page. They are not rivals, AT ALL. --ケンジのガール 03:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Still, they are no normal trainer class, they are part of the storyline, and they use a specific starter. Megamew
