Aaron and Riley

That's such a big resemblance, Riley doesn't seem to be based on Aaron. He just is based on him! The pose, the hair... everything. --Kyoufu Kawa 17:30, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

That's pretty possible, Kyoufu-sensei but we aren't sure who was designed first. D/P was already in project when Movie 8 first saw the day light. It's still possible that they used Riley's design to make Aaron. Yeah, that's unlikely but we never know... Anyways, you're still my master. --Maxim 17:59, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Considering that Sugimori made Aaron's character design as well as Riley's, IIRC, it may be intended to be more than just a reference. Personally, I've been wondering if Riley is a descendant of Aaron. --Pie ~ 20:06, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
This descendence thing is a pure fanwank, so far. If the anime doesn't explain this, it will stay fanwank forever. But I doubt it since Riley and Aaron don't co-exist (yet, maybe). --Maxim 20:15, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, chances are pretty good of Riley appearing in the anime, given the record of DP character appearances so far, but not very good of a mention to Aaron, given the record of referencing movies. But considering that they come from two completly different points in time, look the same, were both designed by Sugimori - I sincerely doubt the similarities are merely a nod from one canon to another. --Pie ~ 20:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Seeing how Cheryl has popped up in the anime, I'm anticipating an appearance before Ash battles Byron. Plus, if he is a descendant of Aaron in the anime, then that means he might be related to Ash. Right? --Angerman 06:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree that out of all "Partner Trainers" Riley has the best chance of appearing in anime. I personally hope they explain it somehow because it really makes sense. Besides Riley the biggest chance of anime appearance has: Buck (unless Ash and co. don't visit Battle Zone, but I expect a Battle Zone arc in anime), then Marley (this time, chance is pretty low since Victory Road is always omitted in anime, but they can fit her in some filler as well) and then Mira (her cave was already omitted but there is still a hope that she'll appear on the way to Hearthome City).
Mira is appearing in the anime soon. Palmer will probably be Kenny's dad since he's Pearl's dad in the game. I'm not so sure about Marley, though. RahinTalk 03:36, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
There's no proof Kenny/Kengo will reappear yet, nor that he "is" Pearl/Jun's counterpart in the Anime; so Palmer/Kurotsugu isn't necesesarily Kengo's dad. He could just be another character in the "possible" Battle Zone arc (though, I'm pretty sure Battle Zone will appear in the Anime, as Battle Frontier did, but it would have to be expanded to fit it's own story arc, which may or may not be aided in Opal Version (or whatever the third version will be called)). In any case, Mira/Miru's appearance outside of her cave points ever more to evidence that Marley/Mai will appear in the anime as well. Oh, and just because Satoshi has the same hadou as Aaron-sama doesn't make him a descendant of Aaron; though if Riley/Gen appears in the anime, it's quite likely that Satoshi will think Gen is Aaron for a moment (though even more likely is Satoshi won't remember anything from Movie 8 save that he's met a Lucario before, as he did in the Whirl Islands with Lugia and at Tin Tower with Suicune). I do believe that Aaron is related to both Satoshi and Gen though, but that's all fanon, and should not be mentioned in this article whatsoever, unless some note is made during the episode(s) with Gen later on. I think the appearance of all these characters are also pointing that a Battle Zone season will occur - they're introducing Satoshi to his partners at the Tower. If Battle Zone occurs, it almost assures us of Gen's anime appearance. ~Kumori Satosuke 20:27:45, 26 October 2007 (EST)
