I read on the Silver and Gold page about the in-cartridge battery wearing out and the save files failing. Will this happen with Ruby and Sapphire games even though the in-cartridge battery only runs the clock? If so, I'd better start migrating like crazy.--[[User:QX Deoxys|QX Deoxys]] 14:57, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Late answer, too late. But I have a Ruby game that was used, from my cousin <3, thankfully. But, it has problems with the battery, but the save game file can be lost. But only if the battery has problems. [[User:Chocos0|Chocos0]] 05:45, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

First- and second-generation Pokemon

I've been searching for a while for answers, but can't seem to find any. The Pokedex description table on each Pokemon page leads me to assume so, but can first- and second-generation Pokemon (such as Charizard or Lugia) be obtained in Sapphire and Ruby? And if so, how can this be accomplished? // SzayelAporro 21:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

By Trading with a game that can catch those Pokemon. In that example, Charizard is obtained from FireRed or LeafGreen, and Lugia from Pokemon XD.--PikamasterADV 21:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Yep. Or you could use a GameShark, but that ruins the fun. As long as you've gotten the Sapphire and Ruby in FRLG, you can trade with RS. All 386 Pokémon as of Gen III can be traded freely among Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Colosseum, and XD, and Box can connect to R/S/E/FR/LG to do direct transfers so long as the game has 100 Pokémon caught in its Pokédex. Thanks, guys. You've no idea how stressed looking for a simple answer was making me. One more question, however: when you do catch said Pokemon, is a new section for a National Pokedex added or what? I'm curious to know how the games handle this. // SzayelAporro 22:32, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
In RS, as soon as a trade is made with FRLG the National Dex is unlocked. In FRLG and Emerald, the National Dex is unlocked after the Elie Four are defeated for the first time, if certain things are met. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 07:13, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Glitch

With the berry glitch, this occurred on my game, but after a while It went away and now it works again. How is that possible o.O? Mickel The Vain 06:12, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

...odd. Good question. Maybe it's because it's a glitch, and it really does go away sometimes, but not certainly. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 07:12, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Gold, Silver, and Crystal

Should we mention that the backspites on the Generation I and II pokemon have been revamped from G/S/C? -Dean

Yes we should. BlueJirachi 03:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Um... why? The entire game was revamped just because they had a new system. The back sprites weren't changed any more than any other aspect of the game. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 03:10, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at Celebi's back sprite for Ruby and Sapphire. It's a revamped version of the original sprite in G/S/C.BlueJirachi 15:48, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Sprites

From Meowth to Deoxys, many of the R/B sprites are missing from the sprite tables. One day, we should fix that as a team; it would be too much work for one person.--☆Tavisource 06:19, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Don't you mean RS, or did you mean RB? Gligar 19:28, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Official R/S and FR/LG Sites back up

Pages updated to reflect this. Emerald was not put back up for some reason. Captain Skank 22:01, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Thingamajiggy

Should we include the dual-slot mode Pokémon in Generation IV? I would love to. (And maybe for the other gen III games, too) 1337Fire ►strike! 18:47, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

I added a "Compatibility" section, and will tack this onto all articles that do not make mention of it already. — THE TROM — 23:10, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Clock issue?

I read on the Silver and Gold page about the in-cartridge battery wearing out and the save files failing. Will this happen with Ruby and Sapphire games even though the in-cartridge battery only runs the clock? If so, I'd better start migrating like crazy.--QX Deoxys 14:57, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
