Fast Ball

Just wondering where Abra and Phanpy are coming from, as Pokémon Forever states "If the wild Pokémon is Magnemite, Grimer, Tangela, Mr.Mime, Eevee, Porygon, Dratini, or Dragonair, then Catch Rate = Catch Rate * 4.0. Please note that while these Pokémon have a greater chance to catch, not all of them can be found in the wild." Jshadias 09:53, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I'm curious, too. I see various sites that say things like "Pokemon who can run away, like Teddiursa, Tangela, or Raikou", but the game stores a list of Pokemon whom the ball works better on, and that's what I used on PokéFor. --Meowth346 21:09, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

In that case, somebody remove the two offending, untrue Pogeys?

And Abra really shouldn't be on that list, as it uses Teleport; it doesn't actually run away... Evkl 21:45, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC) Teleport counts, though. The quick ball worked on Abra.Nintendofan146B 20:17, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Should Anime-only Balls be included in this? I'm thinking of the Dark Balls and whatever it was that Sammy used from movie 4--BJG

There was the Dark Ball and the GS Ball. That's all there have been. I think they would make a useful addition, though. Fabu-Vinny 19:22, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

TCG sections

Shouldn't the page give hyper links to all of the Poké Balls featured in the cards? Mr. Bell 08:49, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Hyper Ball in manga

Do you think it's worth mentioning in the "in the manga" section about the existance of the Hyper Ball? Ash attempts to use it in the EToP manga at the end of issue 4, and is apparently very expensive. Fsilone 02:48, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Isn't the Hyper Ball just the Japanese name of the Ultra Ball? TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 03:00, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
...yeah. It is. And it's rather expensive, too... Tina δ 03:03, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Happiness Balls

Shouldn't there be a note about the increased Happiness rating that Luxury Balls and Friend Balls produce on captured Pokemon? Or is that just a myth that has no bearing on the game data?

This is a good question, how come it wasn't answered? Felinoel 21:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Main Picture

Is an SSBM trophy really appropriate for the main picture on this article? I think it should be a plain Pokéball without the trophy base at the bottom - MTC

I think it looks a lot better, just a sharper image if you know what I mean. And it doesn't matter the source, a Poké Ball is a Poké Ball. evkl 19:25, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I think the Same as MTC. It could be the picture of a Poké ball that is in the first opening possibly. David aipom

As long as the picture illustrates on how the ball looks like in the anime and games (which it does), the it is acceptable. - Vhayes1992 18:17, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Team Rocket Balls...

I clearly remember seeing black balls thrown by the head of Team Rocket in "Mewtwo's Return" feature length episode. Now it's a bit sad since I juest returned the darn video to the rental store and check on this which I saw just moments ago! From my poor memeory I think they were just black pokeballs with the typicial Team Rocket red R instead of red dot.

They were used to capture the running pokemon (Meoth, Pikachu and the cloned pokemons), though Mewtwo used it's psychich powers to release them, making them somewhat uninteresting...

Actually, I think you're thinking of the PokéBalls being thrown by the Team Rocket grunts at the herd of Tauros that Mewtwo was lifting with Psychic.Missingno. Master 02:00, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Ball Images

The large images are nice, I admit, but perhaps using sprites would make the tables look neater and, by having ones for the Safari, Ultra and Master Balls, more complete? Given time, I could even make modifications of the sprites for the Generation II Balls. --Pie 20:08, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Replacing Images

I don't think that the current images for Hoenn Balls and Poke and Great Ball are nice. I think they're ugly imitations of Sugimori Artwork. I have a Sugimori Artworks for almost all PokeBalls (the Johto ones are bad-qualited, though) and I think they're much better. I think we should replace the current images with the Sugimori's ones.

I dunno, I don't think the current ones look bad at all - just big, given how much they stretch the rows of the table. And how bad quality are you talking for the Johto ones? Call me a sprite fanatic, but I think the third generation item sprites would look best in the tables. The second generation ones would be missing, but, as I said, I could make some custom ones. Also, I'm not particularly fond of the anime Pokéball image, since it's so heavily pixelated... --Pie 01:36, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Actually... now that I think of it, perhaps both of our concerns can be dealt with more easily than I thought. Hold on just a little bit... --Pie 18:50, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

One big vs. many small

I've been talking with TTE. The idea of breaking some of the meat of this article up still bugs me on some level, but... well, might as well bring the idea to everyone.

The idea, basically, is to start having articles for groups of items as well as individual. This one, for example, would be moved to "Ball", and the lower section would link to the different articles on individual item types. If we do this for this one, we do it for all item groups...

Thoughts? --Pie ~ 02:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I think it'd be a good idea. After all, we have separate articles for every berry, why shouldn't we for Poké Balls and held items as well? Then, we could categorize them better, without having a gigantic page (which is what the page on held items is quickly becoming...).
C'mon, anyone else? --TTEchidna 21:55, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Ooh, just had an idea. How about dividing the page into individual sections for each type of ball, going into detail about its catch rate, where it's able to be purchased, and so on? --TTEchidna 15:59, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Thats a GREAT idea. We could have another template for all the balls. --Usyflad 10 23:21, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Dive Ball

What is the increase of efficiency for a dive ball when you are capturing a water/bug hybrid?

That's the Net Ball that raises the multiplier for Water or Bug Pokémon. Dive Ball in Gen III works better on Pokémon underwater, and in Gen IV works better on Pokémon you encounter while Surfing. Anyway, I think it doesn't stack, but I dunno. If it doesn't stack, it's as listed, but if it does, it's 9x. TTEchidna 00:19, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Does the Dive Ball really have an increased effect while Surfing in D/P? Missingno. Master 02:00, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I Belive it does. It's text says so. I don't know the rate though.

Sir Aaron's Staff and the passage of time within the ball.

Should Sir Aaron's Staff be considered a pre-pokéball object as well? Also, should it be noted about how time passes for pokémon contained within pokéballs? There have been a few instances where pokémon have spent of years, centuries even, within a pokéball/pokéball like object and not aging or feeling any sort of passage of time.

I think so, it is a method of capturing a Pokémon. File:Ani137MS.gifTESHFile:Ani233MS.gifTALK File:Ani474MS.gifFUN 16:41, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

This is my fist post (or edit, I'm new) The passage of time seems to vary between pokéball and pokéball like objects, when in pokéballs, pokémon seem to be conscious (as trainers give commands before releasing them) but don't physically age, but in some other pokéball like object, time passes as if there sleeping while there in the object. amaster6000 11:12, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

There is obviously very little passage of time in Aaron's staff; long enough for Lucario to stew in his rage, but quick enough apparently for him to still be blind. Also remember that most of those centuries-old Pokémon are usually special specimens--often a Psychic-type or something like Lokoko.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 14:58, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Gen IV Park Ball

Are the links to the Gen II games really necessary? I know that some people have been using it's resemblance to the GS Ball to support the idea of a Gen IV remake of Gold and Silver, but without an actual statement from Nintendo or Game Freak, should we really make it seem like such speculation is factual? --Dual 13:25, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Heavy Ball?

It says that heavy ball is "+20 +30 -10" What does that mean? +X to the catch rate? or what? --MewUser 17:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Heavy Ball added to the catch rate, So a +30 on a catch rate of 3 would make it catch rate 33. Gywall 17:24, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

From the information given on the page, Snorlax would be the only Gen II pokemon to get the +30 and the +20 would rare as well e.g. Graveler is only 105Kg and HO-OH is only 199Kg Tzion 22:35, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

The image needs to be uploaded to the archives, then the image can be replaced. Preferably the image would be retaken as a png, rather than a jpg though, as they are better quality (although with the current image I'm sure it can be overlooked). To upload images, go to the archives (in the side bar) and log in with your Bulbapedia username and password, then upload the image, e.g. to Sammy's_Old_Poké_Ball.png or something similar. Generation II

Generation II has no Poké Ball sprites?~Ποκεμανιακα0β 17:21, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Origin of the Concept?

"In the series, Ultraseven, when unable to fight (usually because his Ultra Eye has been stolen), Dan will often produce a small capsule that releases a giant-sized monster to fight in his place."

Now I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I believe the concept of "Keeping Pokémon inside Pokéballs" originated from Ultraseven. --Arima 00:52, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

"Originate" seems to strong a word. Inspired by, possibly. Worth a mention on the page, maybe. State as fact a connection that's at best speculation, unless we hear that Satoshi Tajiri said something in an interview confirming that Ultraseven is where he got the concept...not such a good idea. Reviving something old here, but really. The Master Ball is an important part of the game, just because we list where you can obtain one doesn't make us a "strategy guide", in my opinion it makes us more like an encyclopedia as an encyclopedia tries to have all the information on something, including the locations of things. Making a new article is taking it a little too far, but if it hasn't been done already (and I skimmed through the article and it seems to not have been done) we should list the locations of the Master Balls. That and a lot of people are probably going to want to know where too find them. ~~Takoto - サソデイ 21:28, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
I agree with that. In Kanto it was a gift from the Silph president, Johto I don't know because I never bought the games, Hoenn in the Aqua/Magma hideout in R/S and then Aqua hideout in E, and then Cyrus gives it to you in D/P/Pt. Unless that's only in Pt. R.A. Hunter Blade 21:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't really look like it fits at its current place. Maybe would could make a page exclusive to masterballs as we could do some in the anime stuff and put this table there... we could also add screenshots of where the masterballs are found. Additionally the table isn't quite consistent as it says after battling Kyogre (Sapphire only) it should also say after battling Groudon (Ruby only). Otherwise, everything is great. -MasterKenobi 00:49, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
The (Sapphire only) part is because Sapphire&Emerald have the Aqua hideout. It's only blocked in Sapphire, not Emerald. That's why it's there. As for the chart, if it could be made a bit smaller and collapsible, or at least smaller, then it would be a bit better. And if it can't be made smaller, then collapsible would probably be fine. R.A. Hunter Blade 14:26, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Making it collapsible is a better option than making a whole page dedicated too the Master Balls I guess. ~~Takoto - サソデイ 14:33, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
It's way better than a separate page, because then we'd have to make one for every single Poké Ball. The only real significance between it and the others is that it never fails, and there's only one per game unless you get extremely lucky at the lottery. R.A. Hunter Blade 14:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I mean, I'm actually neutral too the idea of a separate page for the Master Balls, as in my opinion there's kinda important, but meh. ~~Takoto - サソデイ 14:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Opponent's only keep Pokémon in Poké Balls?

"In the games, all opponents keep their Pokémon in Poké Balls. The reason for this is unknown."

Whoever put this up, what is this supposed to mean? If you mean they always keep them in Balls, then it's false, because there are countless trainers in-game that let their Pokémon wander around, and in Colosseum and XD you can even battle them, but they'll go back into their Ball pre-battle.

I interpreted as the type of Ball, since it's true all opponents keep them in Poké Balls, not Ultra Balls or whatever, but since there's contention, I think some real clarification would be nice. Dragoness 04:39, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I sure of seen some other ball somewhere, but thats besides the point. I interpreted it as in the case of Ash's Pikachu, not being in the pokeball, but battling in the anime, while the jigglypuff in yellow version and a machop in gold couldnt battle, but you could see the walking aroundDCM((曲奇饼妖怪Spy on My Edits))
Then it's not true that all opponents keep their Pokémon in their Balls. Best example is the Shadow Lugia in XD, who was definitely not kept in a Ball.Dragoness 04:46, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Did an opponent use it? Was it ever "captured" in anyway?DCM((曲奇饼妖怪Spy on My Edits))
Yes, Greevil clearly commanded it to attack and it did, not to mention you had to use a Snag Ball to catch it, not a regular Ball like the wild Pokémon. There are other examples in that game. In Phenac, a Peon is talking to his Absol before you battle him, and he uses the Absol in battle. In Agate Village, there is an old woman standing with a Mightyena and if you choose to battle her, she uses the Mightyena. Eagun also keeps his Pikachu out but still uses it to battle. Dragoness 04:55, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Non main game but ok. Im gonna go locate that trainer with the safari zone. Keep it the way you have itDCM((曲奇饼妖怪Spy on My Edits)) 04:57, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
You're all missing the point, I think that who first posted this was trying to say that when you battle another trainer they always send out their Pokémon in normal Poké Balls, you know, because I've never seen an in-game opponent sending out any Pokémon in a, say, Master Ball. However, why is this important, I mean, yeah it's true, but I don't think is something we should see in the article, or is it important? I may be wrong.--YukitoOoO 18:03, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Don't you think it would be better to have Ken Sugimori's artwork for the Poké Ball instead of that 3D Picture? It's not really official artwork and looks nothing like the balls in the anime! Anime Pokeballs

Half the anime pokeballs are actully just customized pokeballs painted to look unique, namely the Lake Ball, Chansey ball, Green Pokeball and Rocket Ball. The game series also suggest that custom poke balls exist in this manner; when you deliver Oak's Parcel he states it's a custom ordered Poke Ball. the heavy ball

So the heavy ball takes 30 away from the catch rate if the pokemon is under 100kg, what if a pokemon already has a catch rate lower than 30 and is under 100kg? ie the lake trio and cresselia, would their catch rate be a negative value? Would it be even possible to catch them in a heavy ball? Jmvb 12:10, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Well I managed to get Raikou in a heavy ball which, according to this page, would have meant Raikou had a catch rate of -17 because his weight is lower than 451.5 lbs (it's 392.4 lbs). So it either doesn't take any more off the catch rate when it's 3 or I got very very lucky. Jmvb 00:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

The Safari and Park Balls

So I'm a bit confused here. In every generation there have been Safari Balls or Park Balls, yet we only have three images for Safari/Park Balls and no mention of their different appearances. There should exist: Gen. 1: Safari Balls (no sprites exist but should have official artwork); Gen. 2: Park Balls (GSC); Gen. 3: Safari Balls (for Emerald and FRLG); Gen. 4: Park Balls (DPP)*, Safari Balls (DP&P)*, Compé Balls (HGSS)*, plus possibly HGSS Safari Balls. (*We have these.) I'd personally like to see a note on the page mentioning that there have been several different forms for Safari Ball, with pics if possible. (I seem to remember that Gen. 1 Safari Balls were green with a black "S" on them and that Gen. 3 had spikey orange designs on lime green.) Also, this might help when looking for refs... and inconsistencies: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Safari_ball_issues.jpg Norle

Um... we don't need Gen I ones, because it's stricly game sprites only. I have emerald, but need help getting screenshots. I COULD ALSO PROVE THE CELEBI GLITCH WITH SCREENSHOTS! SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 17:25, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Norle has some very good points. Unfortunently this is the Pokémon fandom, where good points are ignored and wild speculation is ripe. These variations on the Safari Balls sound interesting. Me, Hurray! 15:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Lucian's Comments

Well I was playing my Pokemon Platinum game one day and I saw Lucian in the Canalave Library, which surprised me. He told me that Pokemon instinctively curl into a ball to recuperate and that is why they'll be caught by a Pokeball. Unfortunately, I don't have his exact words. This event happened on a Thursday between 5 and 6pm and I had already beaten the Elite Four once. I didn't see anything about what he said on the Pokeball page and I didn't know if anyone else here has gotten to talk to Lucian at the library. It was interesting information but I didn't know if that should be added to the page or not. - unsigned comment from Kitty (talkcontribs)

Moon Ball?

Does this ball give the multiplier for just Nidorina, Nidorino, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, and Skitty, or to everyone in their respective families? Also, does it even give the multiplier to Skitty?--Bulbafreak9000 04:30, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Skitty evolves with the Moon Stone, so yes. It's not available in the wild, though, so the only way to legitimately get that bonus is to have a Ditto transform into one. And personally I always wondered if it gave the multiplier to the whole family... Doubt it in Gen II, stuff was primitive then, but in IV, I'd imagine so. TTEchidna 20:48, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Pikachu

Even Ash's Pikachu, the most prominent Pokémon in the anime which spends all its time outside with Ash, has a plain Poké Ball that differs from others only by the small yellow lightning bolt symbol on it, as seen in Pokémon - I Choose You!.

I don't think this is even relevant - and it isn't proven that that Poké Ball is the Poké Ball Ash carries around, since Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Gary's Blastoise left their Poké Balls (which had Japanese writing on them a few times I've seen it, although they may have retconned it because I think I also saw an episode without it) on that podium in Oak's Lab. Also Gary's Blastoise is now held in a regular Poké Ball as seen when he battles Ash at the end of the Master Quest series.

I hope we're allowed to put up YouTube links in talk pages, but just to show you, here is EP001 where in the shot of the glass case opening, it shows on the empty Poké Balls of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle that there is writing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMNw7cPDYv8

Anyway, my point is that we shouldn't take it for face value that Ash uses that lightning-bolt marked Poké Ball, and also to ask if someone who is able can delete that comment in the beginning of the Anime section. Thank you! :D Lucadan (Talk) 21:23, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

New data from DFC

Apparently a user from the Cave of Dragonflies hacked into the assembly data and decoded it (?? I don't know how that works, but whatever) and found that the actual catch rates for some Balls (Dusk, Quick, Nest, Timer) are different to what the fandom has been parroting around. I've updated Dusk and Quick to match, but I've no idea how to fix the Nest and Timer catch rates. Frugali 02:57, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Updated HG/SS Apricorn ball data has also been added there and I have edited the page to match; however, some sort of consensus must be reached on how to show the Nest and Timer Ball catch rates before they can be corrected, since they clearly can't be done the current way. --Dragonfree 06:28, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
The timer ball catch rates are correct according to the website, "int(number of turns passed in battle + 10) / 10, maximum 4", using this you get the same catch rates described in this article when you mess about with number of turns in battle. Bear in mind "int" takes off the stuff after the decimal point from the number. So for example after 27 turns the calculation is int(27+10)/10 = 3.7 - take the point .7 and you're left with 3 - Just as the article says, you can try with other amounts of turns and it doesn't contradict what the article says.
The nest ball is a bit of a problem though, "int(40 - Pokémon's level) / 10", the article says for pokemon under 19 it's x3 - but (40-19)/10 = 2.1 - int(2.1) is 2... The article also says that between and 20 29 it's x2, but int((40-25)/10) =1 This would imply that when the level is 10 and under it's x3, between 11 and 20 x2, and 21 and over x1 Jmvb 01:17, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
No; it can take on decimal values. Note that the division by 10 is not inside the parentheses. (...which means the int() is actually redundant since what's inside the parentheses is always an integer anyway; it was just a leftover from the old formulas and I just removed it.)

Love Ball and non/neutral-gender pokemon?

so apparently Mew learns Attract at some level and it only works on other non-gender pokemon, would the same kind of thing apply where you have a non-gender pokemon out and use a love ball on another non-gender pokemon? --Shadofrak 00:47, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Mew can learn attract by TM45. It always fails. Now use the link templates. Mew, Attract. As for Love Balls, 1× catch rate. TTEchidna 01:50, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
This trivia suggests otherwise, so one of us (as in Bulbapedia members) is wrong. "Mew is the only genderless Pokémon able to learn Attract and Captivate; however, when used by Mew, they will fail unless the opposing Pokémon is also genderless."

Variants in Electric Tale/Dengeki Pikachu

Though the article claims that there are no ball variants in this series, two of then have been seen (one original to the series, and one based on the games) in the chapter when Ash/Satoshi fought the Haunter to avenge Sabrina who fell victim to it:

The first one shown is the giant Poké Ball intended to capture the giant Haunter, first suggested by Ash (along the lines of "It's a giant Pokémon, right? So we need a giant Poké Ball to capture it!"). In the same chapter, he attempted to capture the weakened Haunter using a Hyper (Ultra) Ball, only to lose it when the Haunter self-destructed before the ball hit it. Mistake in the Trivia section

In the trivia section it says that in all other languages the names of the poké balls are always related to the term "ball", but it's not true: in italian, infact, even though the name of the item in the videogames is poké ball, they're also called "sfere poké" (poké spheres). This second name is so widespread that it is used even in the opening theme of the first season's anime. Since I'm not an expert in the site's guidelines, I didn't change the section because I'm not sure whether or not this can be added to the page. Generation II balls in Diamond Pearl and platinum

I looked every where for information about the Johto balls appearing in dpp, so I tested it and added this information under the pokeballs introduced in gen II

"They cannot be traded to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum as they cannot be held by Pokémon. Also, if a Pokémon is caught in any of these balls and traded to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum they will appear to be caught in a regular Pokéball. They will retain there original ball if traded back to Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver."

Can someone test and see if pokemon that were caught in johto balls on dpp can be migrated to gen V and retain there original ball? (I hope Im doing this right, this is my first time trying to edit this page and the talk page.) metafruit 05:44, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Any pokeball 100% capture rate in Entree Forest

Can someone confirm that you can use any pokeball to capture Dream World pokemon. I've tried it a few times (SR) and my balls have not failed but I could have just gotten very lucky... Most likely from examining the game code itself. --SnorlaxMonster 15:25, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Dream Ball

I brought a Sunkern from the Dream World to the Entralink place, and I caught it with a Luxury Ball. I also noticed that it did not know Earth Power, like it was supposed to. Does the Dream Ball have anything to do with the moves that a Pokémon from the Dream World knows? --FiMbUlWiNtEr2O|2 21:37, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

That Sunkern obviously wasn't supposed to know Earth Power, period. When you befriend Pokémon in the Dream World, pay attention, because after you complete the minigame, it displays its gender, and the special attack it comes with, or a regular level-up move if it doesn't come with any special attacks. Not all Dream World Sunkern know Earth Power. The Dream Ball has nothing to do with it. I caught my Dream World Tangela in a Heal Ball today by accident, and it still knew Leech Seed. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 22:37, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Should something be said in the article about the anime (Unova)and the balls sealing themselves?

I just watched the dubbed episode where Ash caught Sewaddle. The pokeball sealed itself and the button on the ball stayed red instead of going white. Cilan then told Ash that he had to go to a pokemon center to switch out a pokemon if he wanted Sewaddle on his team. Should this be mentioned in the article?--Pokemon26 17:18, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

I agree. I think something should be said in the article about how, in the anime, as opposed to how it used to be (Poké Ball automatically transported to the Professor, as seen when Ash captured Krabby in the Original Series) that the Poké Balls now seal themselves, making the Pokémon inside them unusable until the Trainer visits a Pokémon Center and swaps out Pokémon in storage with the Professor. This has been seen multiple times already in the Black and White/Best Wishes series of the anime, and since Ash shows no signs of slowing down his rate of catching Pokémon, I think that this is important, and should be mentioned.--ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 18:52, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Park Ball in Gen V

The Safari Ball has a catching animation programmed into Black and White despite not being legitimately able to be used, as there is no Safari Zone.

What about the Park Ball? XVuvuzela2010X 23:41, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Poke Ball Accuracy

There is a point in that section stating that "Pokemon until Platinum could be caught in a semi vulnerable state...", then the point below it says that "it is likely due to the fact that, traditionally when a Pokemon is caught, the battle ends..."

It doesn't make sense to me. Isn't it because the Pokemon is out of sight and you can't aim?Blitzamirin 14:13, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Fast Ball

The description on the catch rate has a link to a page listing pokemon with a base speed stat greater than 100, but since it is described as having a "4× if used on a Pokémon with a base Speed of at least 100." The page should include pokemon with a base speed stat of greater than or equal to 100 such as zapdos, or pokemon with a base speed stat greater than 99. --Xhainingx 18:35, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Dark Ball

Can someone please add the Dark Ball in the anime part of the article. I would but I don't know much about it. ZMT123 01:38, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

It's already there. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 01:44, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Cherish Balls

you use the action replay pokeball cheat and then you can use the Cherish Balls to capture pokemon--Rise My Yanmegas 00:31, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Is this a fancy way of saying "Why did you revert my edit?" Truthseeker4449 00:51, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

kind of yes, kind of no but i fully understand you reedited it "no Cheating allowed on this wiki"--Rise My Yanmegas 00:58, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Thats not why I removed it. I removed it because you put it in the wrong spot. After your edit the setence didn't make sense anymore. Truthseeker4449 01:04, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

O.K sorry--Rise My Yanmegas 01:16, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Formatting Issues

In Chrome (haven't checked any other browsers), it seems as though the version tags (Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc. and the like) mess with the height of the line they're on; for example, in the Level Ball Secondary effect area, "held" is lower than the "Cannot be" that precedes it. Quick Ball and Wandering Legends

Does a quick ball continually work every time these things start a fight, or does it only count in the VERY FIRST fight? I cant tell at this point, and it seems something really important to make clear on the page! PowerPlantRaichu 12:55, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

It's obvious they work fully in every encounter, just like those roaming Pokémon lose all volatile statuses after they flee.--Den Zen 13:00, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
