Gyarados

why is this called misty's Gyarados as it was raised by her sisters shouldn't it be put under Gyarados (cerulean gym) like dewgong,and shouldn't it at least be put on either the sensational sister pokemon list or on the girls seperate pages as previously owned.--Solidadrox 07:51, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Do we know for sure that Gyarados appeared as a Magikarp in The Misty Mermaid? More to the point, is it the same Magikarp? -PAK Man

Why do we refer to Misty's Gyarados as a Gym Pokemon? I think we should refer to it as hers in general. For Gyarados to be at the gym it had to have been captured or obtained at one point, by Misty or one of her sisters. If was a gym Pokemon then wouldn't that mean it belongs to the Pokemon league right, because they are the supervisors of all official gyms. If I'm correct I thought it was the gym leaders responsibility to capture and raise strong Pokemon, and not the Pokemon League. Thats why I think Gyarados and some of the other Pokemon at the gym like Shellder should be referred to as strictly Misty's Pokemon -Voit

Why would the league hand out Pokémon? It's a Gym Pokémon because Misty didn't use it before being the Gym Leader. TTEchidna 05:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

She had it with her in her appearances, though (Namely, the Mirage Kingdom Arc and the 10th anniversary special.), I don't think Misty would have taken it with her if it strictly belonged to the Gym, so I think that it's her pokemon, and it doesn't actually belong to the Gym (Besides, why would it run amok in the Gym in Cerulean Blues? I mean, the Gyarados was out of it's pokeball for quite some time.)

Again I would like to ask...how do we know that it was Magikarp? Nothing was ever mentioned and I think it is just someone making a random assumption. --HoennMaster 04:45, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

In Chronicles 6, Misty tried recreating an underwater dance she had done with the Pokémon as a Magikarp in an attempt to calm Gyarados. There was dialogue explicitly stating the attempt (which failed to calm Gyarados). This should be sufficient evidence that it had evolved from a Magikarp. --Shiningpikablu252 05:51, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I have a suggestion: Why don't we pick what's written there, add it to Gyara and put a redirect to that article? I think it makes more sense then having half the information here and half there. Discuss. Mr. Charlie 09:16, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
