If I remember correct MissingNo doesn't have a standard TM/HM set...

Ehem. If MISSINGNO has a hex, it has a HM/TM list as well, asigned to the HEX. WHEEE

Darkmewham2!

I am also unsure about the validity of the HM/TM list and for its base stats too. In my opinion these values are semi-random, depending on the memory part that affects its appearence. Maybe someone can run some research on that? On and please don't come up with another "if it has a hex" line again... --Arty2 20:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

I added more TMs to the list, as seen on [1]. They did extensive research into such glitches as Missingno., and came up with that TM and HM list. --Missingno. Master 10:53, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Hex codes for fossil/ghost

Do you think this page should include the hex codes and letters for the special Missingno. sprites? Kabutops fossil is 86 (lowercase w), Aerodactyl is 87 (lower x), and Ghost is 88 (lower y). --250隼也 249じゅんや 16:55, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Either missingno. or some other glitch somehow did permanent damage to my Red.

The bit in a rom storing the color pallete for GBC/GBA/Super Game Boy was somehow modified, and so my game has screwed up colors. Does anyone know how it's even possible for this value to be modified? I assumed it was hardcoded. Also, is there a gameshark code I could use that will correct this value? --1338h4x 23:36, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Does it affect the entire game? Or only happen when your game is loaded? MK 02:17, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
The whole game, no matter how many times I erase data. Aside from the strange colors though, the rest of the game functions fine. --1338h4x 23:41, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, that's strange. I always thought the default GBC colors were coded into the system. Maybe it depends on the game. --Libertyernie 19:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
If you press buttons while the GBC is booting up, you can change the palette. I take it this defines a set handful of colors for the game to draw upon, each one assigned to a value. --1338h4x 00:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Power Plant coast?

Is it possible in Pokémon Red & Blue to catch Missingno. or other non-water Pokémon on the coast near the Power Plant rather than the Cinnabar coast? I broke my Blue (by foolishly using a Game Genie) so I can't test it out. --Libertyernie 19:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

I doubt it. The reason the missingno glitch occurs is that Cinnabar has no Pokemon defined for surf encounters, despite the existance of one stip of water, the coast. As such, the variable for encounters is set at whatever it was last, like the safari zone. Old Man's weedle is either M or Missingno, I forget which. Your other encounters are determined by your name, since that's where the game chooses to store the string while replacing your name with OLD MAN. --1338h4x 00:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

DP Missingno.?

I've seen that video on YouTube before, and I figured that it needed mentioning here in Missingno.'s article, since it has the similar appearance. Anyway, does anyone have DP who's tried the glitch who can give a firsthand account? Tom Temprotran 13:06, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

MissingNo. in the Japanese green verison?

Does MissingNo. appear in the Japanese green verison? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Asukagirl (talkcontribs).

Far as I know it does. Our Blue was based off Green's wild Pokémon, so if it's there in Blue, it's there in Green. Tom Temprotran 03:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Remember the old rumors?

I remember back in the day, like... eight years ago? Anyhow, I remember the stories that were circulating around GameFAQs and Pokemon fansites about... well, this and other things, but this one especially. I remember the best being that if you see missingno., you needed to immediately kill it to prevent your game from being fried. I dunno about you guys, but since this was before the internet was really huge, I start selling people khangaskans. Never hurt me, except I lost a file on my Red once. But I had like, ninty kangaskans, so I would trade them to other kids for like, twenty bucks. I was rolling in dough for several weeks. It was great.

Seafoam Islands

Why isn't the fact that MissingNo. can also be found at Seafoam Island mentioned here? Even Pokemon.com mentioned this fact once when they mentioned the Safari Zone glitch. Of coarse, they did make a mistake when they said that MissingNo. can appear if you preform the Safari Zone Glitch and not the MissingNo. glitch itself. I'd like to add that part to this article, however, I won't until someone else agrees with me on this issue or better yet, adds it themselves. --Jake 19:49, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I think it's not in here because you can't find Missingno. at Seafoam Island. Yes, its coast has the same programming error as Cinnibar, but you can't get to Seafoam Island directly from Viridian like you can with Cinnibar. You have to SURF from Fuchsia or Cinnibar, and entering a route with wild Pokemon during the glitch process effectively nullifies it. Fsilone 02:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

You can. Routes 19 and 20 only have data for Pokémon found while surfing. No grass. Grass data is used for the coasts. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 02:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Missingno. or MissingNo.?

Seriously? TTEchidna 05:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

How can we ever really tell? I mean, all names in the games are in capitals, and Missingno. is not an official character, so there's no references or published stuff to check it against... --DarkfireTaimatsu 05:27, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
That's my question, what was so wrong about leaving it as Missingno.?
As for references, well... we COULD ask Nintendo their stance on the name... I've had Insomniac answer more meaningless questions. TTEchidna 09:41, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I've seen an email by Nintendo about Missingno... and I've pretty sure they spelled it "MissingNo.". (Not that I spell it that way, haha.) TinaTheKirlia File:281MS.gif 15:47, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Can someone upload sprites of Missingno.'s other forms? You know, the ghost (and the Wild MISSINGNO. appeared! screenshot doesn't count), the Aerodactyl skeleton, and the Kabutops skeleton? I'd do it myself, if I knew how. Missingno. Master 23:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Because, seriously, Missingno. didn't appeared in the anime. Those were ghosts created by Ghastly which was strong enough to confuse Ash's Pokedex. Does Ghastly have a move that can instantly create a Missingno. in the games? I don't think so. >_> File:Ani026MS.gifMudkipchanFile:Ani392MS.gif

The Japanese name

Do Ketsuban come from the kana within the old japanese games? Because, a "ketsuban" is a kind of annoying moskito wich dwells in lakes and rivers. I'm mentioning this because this "non-pokemon" uses some water and "flying" attacks, wich perhaps are related to being that moskito. Someone get this? --Gaudhi 20:05, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Missingno. isn't really a Pokémon.. it doesn't have gender differences, it doesn't need a Biology section, etc... Tina δ 03:41, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

It's a glitch Pokémon, it's there, it's in the game, you can not deny that. There is no problem in having biology for glitch Pokémon, because they are still actual Pokémon. What do you have against game location of Missingno.? Or it's special abilities? There is no problem with them being there. GlinnFile:Ani202MS.gif 03:47, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Nintendo does not consider it a Pokémon, and consensus seems to be that we don't either. We don't need a "gender differences" section for a (glitch) Pokémon that has no gender. The info in the "Special abilities" section repeated what is said in Rare Candy cheat, as did "Habitat". File:Ani201QuMS.gif abwayax (t/c) File:Ani201ExMS.gif 03:52, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

True, but that is a more detailed explanation, where as the one Missingno. Master was putting was just simple. If people wanted more information, they could just scroll up/down the page. Yes, Ninetendo doesn't consider it a Pokémon, but the fact of the matter is that t's in the game, and it CAN be used in battle. That's at least a bit of a Pokémon, no? This doesn't have to do with that, it has to do with displaying the sprites like SPRITES! I made a mistake in putting the sprites in the gallery box, it made them too big. And I think Glitch Pokémon should be considered real! They can battle, they have stats, they have sprites, they can learn attacks via TM (and HM in some cases), and they have cries! Missingno and Togetic

I remember reading in a book somewhere that the 'orignal' Missingno. (from Red/Blue, NOT YELLOW) could be traded to Pokemon Yellow, and that when traded to Pokemon Yellow, Missingno. (or was it 'M?) would gain the same Pokedex number that Togetic has in the G/S/C Pokedex. I don't know where this info should be put, however, so I've not added the term.

Delete?

why is this page going to be deleted? I can't see the reasons. =S please someone tell me! hfc2X 01:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not up for deletion, the redundant infobox you put on it is up for deletion, hence, the deletion tag. We already have a Glitch Pokémon infobox. Aside from that, I do like what you've done with the page, though. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 01:20, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I created that infobox for putting MissingNo.'s japanese name too as every Pokémon. And I also fixed this page to look like other Pokémon pages, 'cause I think MissingNo. is so well-known that needs to be treated like any other. hfc2X 01:27, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree wholeheartedly, Missingno. DOES need to be considered a real Pokémon. Only problem is, I once tried doing what you did, it got reverted. Not the infobox thing, the whole make-the-page-look-like-the-page-of-a-real-Pokémon thing. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 01:32, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Well If they revert the page, they should give reasons. After all, MissingNo. is a regular Pokémon for the game's perception. hfc2X 01:36, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

You have a point there. I mean, Missingno. has a sprite, a cry, stats, attacks.... Anything that meets those requirements ought to be considered a Pokémon, wouldn't you say? I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 10:46, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry I thought MissingNo. was the only gltch that has a japanese name. If the other ones have, then let's add it. hfc2X 01:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I have no idea if any other Glitch Pokémon has a known japanese name. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 01:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I mean, Missingno. has a sprite, a cry, stats, attacks.... Missingno. has a name that indicates an error message and a cry that is the default one at its shortest length. Sprite, stats, and attacks are not relevant, because those aren't really a sprite or stats or attacks -- they're seemingly random data, not physically defined for Missingno. itself. Missingno. is not a full-fledged "Pokemon." A beta Pokemon, perhaps. Filler data, more likely. But not an actual Pokemon. IIMarckus 02:29, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Sprite stats and attacks are not relevent... Yes they are! Stop being desperate and admit Missingno Master + Hfc2x have the better point! PokemonTrainer7738 15:16, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm saying that Missingno.'s sprite and stats and attacks are not relevant because they're not really sprites, stats, or attacks. Is that hard to understand? IIMarckus 21:14, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
MissingNo. has stats, sprite and cry like every Pokémon, because there's no other way to explain why it ALWAYS has the same base stats, the same sprite, the same cry and the same attacks. Yeah, it's a beta-Pokémon, but still a Pokémon. I know that you don't want it to be, 'cause nintendo did never release it as oficial, but the game (and many people) still considers it as a normal Pokémon. hfc2X 04:41, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh snap, he's got you there.--Cjhard 08:29, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

It's the most famous Pokémon. People come here one day and expect to see an article on Missingno. And then they discover-Eh? No Missingno? BULBAPEDIA SUCKS! That's what they'll say. We are an ENCYCLOPEDIA, not a (democracy?) deletion posse. Seriously, new guys appear here and start causing trouble like HELL. It's the Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links09:26 22 Jun 2008
OK, from what you just said, I can only assume you saw the word delete and assummed that some newbie wanted this article deleted. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you had actually read this section, you'd realize that a user made a new Missingno. Infobox that could incorporate japanese names, and put it on this article, not knowing that I had deemed said infobox redundant and had put a deletion tag on the infobox. The deletion tag then showed up on this page. This section was started to clear the confusion. This page never was up for deletion, the infobox was. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 10:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

if u look closely at the sprites of the missingno. u would find that it hs a resemblance to a letter. Ghost:lower part of the body looks like a 'Y'. Aerodactyl: overall skeleton looks like >--< which looks like 'X'.Kabutops : upper body (chest) looks like 'W'. i think this is worth mentioning in the trivia.--Nobody777 13:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Ummm. No. One persons ideas are not enough to make noteworthy. MidnightCeltic 13:32, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

but u agree. so if an admin sees my note above he\she might agree and post it at the trivia. but u agree,right?--Nobody777 13:42, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

No I don't agree. but yes, I'd happily disregard if an Admin posted it. MidnightCeltic 13:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

just look accurately at it and DEEPLYItalic text and try to remember the shapes and places.
