I could've sworn I'd asked this already, but I can't find it, so I guess I didn't. In the Japanese version of the anime, I've noticed that the music from Secret Super Training tends to play whenever Blaziken Mask makes an appearance. Is that worth noting? I'm skeptical because the same music did play in [[XY077]], and Meyer's not in that episode. Merge with Blaziken Mask

This character appeared in only a couple of episodes in each persona before being revealed as the same character (and only 10 episodes into what's likely to be a 150-to-200ish episode series, at that). In the grand scheme of things, this isn't (at least to my eyes) the type of plot-critical information that the soft redirect template is meant for. The stakes of Blaziken Mask's identity are nowhere near that of, say, Masked Man, Mayor Es Cade or even Guile Hideout. (And for that matter, even if they are to be kept as separate articles, the one without the soft redirect needs to have all the information, perhaps with a spoiler warning template. If both articles only mention what he does in that specific persona, the fact that the two characters are the same doesn't exist on the wiki except by the implication of the soft redirect, leaving us with a big hole in our coverage.) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:43, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

I totally agree. To be honest, I don't think any of the soft redirects are really needed. We have the spoilers template for a reason and most of the soft redirects are common knowledge anyway. But that's another argument. Limone has only appeared what...three or four times so far and there is no sign that he will appear anytime soon or being heavily involved? I don't think this is necessary. --HoennMaster 07:52, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
I've seen the first nine episodes, most importantly Clemont's Got a Secret!, and watched the English-translated version of Mega-Mega Meowth Madness. At the end of the episode, Blaziken Mask is seen saying, according to the dub, "Citron [Clemont]...Eureka [I presume Bonnie]...traveling with Satoshi-kun [Ash] and Serena-chan [Serena] shall teach you that a Trainer not only needs strength, but also the bond that the Pokémon have shown you." Further, to me, the face looks remarkably like that of their father, Meyer. Add to this that Blaziken Mask is not seen in XY009 anywhere (CORRECTION IN REPLY). I have not watched the translations from XY011 onwards (which are on Youtube and don't seem to get pulled down in the same way as the English ones routinely disappear), but based on what I'm seeing, I'm inclined to say that Meyer and Blaziken Mask are the same person. Do we have enough information (up to what has been shown in Japan) to confirm they are the same, or does something later disprove that possibility? It seems Blaziken Mask knows Meyer's children by name, but I concede they could simply be acquaintances, and Meyer seems not to know that the two were out of the city at first. Blaziken Mask also only appears in Lumiose City from what I've seen.
If it's now considered fact that the two are one and the same, then we need to link the two after the episode airs in North America next weekend. CycloneGU (talk) 01:21, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
I must correct myself on one thing here. He appears in the final seconds of XY009, seemingly listening in to the bedroom conversation. CycloneGU (talk) 01:39, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
What about we have a spoiler page, something like NOTE: "This page has a massive spoiler as to this character's identity., enter at your own risk: (Name of hid version of character, E.G. Blaziken Mask instead of Meyer, which will then also redirect." or similar. Then we have a warning but (as you cannot currently access Meyer from Blaziken Mask, which is silly) we can still have one page for the both of the identites. I agree with the first post here in that it would be a good idea to merge the two pages. They are the same person, and while Blaziken Mask as a character has had a significant role, the identity of Blaziken Mask has not. Never was the identity used as a critical plot point, unlike indeed, Masked Man or Mayor Es Cade. Nonetheless, maybe we should have a sub-section of Blaziken Mask on Meyer's page, or at least a major spoiler tag as it still classifies as a spoiler. But in short in my opinion the hidden identity plot point has not been significant enough for Blaziken Mask to get a separate page, so I support a merge. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 21:37, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
My view: the episode where he is in costume without the mask speaking in the style I quoted above (perhaps slightly altered text) airs tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon, it's time to merge the pages. All we have to discuss is how to organize the material; do we want one chronological history of actions episode by episode as both characters, or two separate "As Meyer" and "As Blaziken Mask" sections? Other than that, finito. But that's my opinion. CycloneGU (talk) 03:18, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
While I agree these pages should be merged, let's not haste and let staff members decide if and when to merge. Then about your suggestions: I guess both have their advantages, but my vote would go out for separating the two personas in two sections as Blaziken Mask was still sort of a different character up until XY010. Of course we should place heavy spoiler tags on it. Problem that arises then is that there will be little continuity in the text, which would be there should we opt for merging their histories. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 09:42, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Tom Wayland still his VA?

With the circumstances of Tom Wayland's departure from directing the dub, did he still provide Meyer's voice in his latest appearances? --The Great Butler (talk) 23:21, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

I'm hearing that he is not credited in any of Meyer's latest appearances. Something might have to be done here. --The Great Butler (talk) 02:41, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
You know how this works, ask a VA.--ForceFire 03:43, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
Just cross-checked some credits in the more-recent episodes; I believe Tom WAS continuing to voice Meyer for a while uncredited, but Wayne Grayson has now taken over. He's been credited in the final few episodes with Blaziken Mask. User talk:Kirbopher 05:50, 6 December 2016 (PST)
Since credits do not directly pair actors with characters, they are inadmissible as proof. Ask the actor if you want to add it to the page. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 02:27, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Background music

I could've sworn I'd asked this already, but I can't find it, so I guess I didn't. In the Japanese version of the anime, I've noticed that the music from Secret Super Training tends to play whenever Blaziken Mask makes an appearance. Is that worth noting? I'm skeptical because the same music did play in XY077, and Meyer's not in that episode. AGGRON989 20:43, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
