Korean name for Mega Stone

Its Korean name is 메가스톤 Mega Seuton.

The Korean name for Lucarionite is 루카리오나이트 Rukarionaiteu

  • Looks like everyone's just gonna stick -nite at the end of the name. -- Nick15 (talk) 17:58, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Items template update: Very important

Looks like {{Item}} is outdated, so that it still doesn't accept XY descriptions and locations. I've written everything here, but it still won't show up. So could I please ask someone to add the variables descxy and locxy? TheOriginalOne 21:53, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

The staff has a list of templates that need to be updated in anticipation of the X and Y release and that template is one of them. We're just trying to complete some of the higher priority templates at the moment, but this should be receiving an update in the near future. --Pokemaster97 16:01, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

How do I upload a image of the Blazikenite orb thing for an item icon?

I took the image of the Blazikenite orb and removed the background, cropped it and made it transparent png for an item icon. How do I upload the image and add it? Yamitora1 (talk) 06:16, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

HereReshi643 06:18, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
It's already been uploaded here. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:30, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Ok thanks, also I'm fiddling with the evolution stone template and It keeps showing the Blazikenite icon with a white background instead of a transparency. Is that normal?
Oh, and fear not, I'm only tinkering with it to see how it would look in the same template as the other Evolution stones. I'm not planning on saving it at the moment.
By the way, is there a template for XY item description and location yet? While filling out the description and location, I can't seem to get XY to show up. I'd assume it'd be descxy and locxy for them. Yamitora1 (talk) 12:27, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Can't you look at the previous section? It explains everything. I did precisely the same thing, but with the text hidden, and then I requested an update here. But the thing is, a staff member didn't agree to have that thing written there before the release of the games and undid my edits (also, the original file uploads were mine - also deleted by him). So that applies to all of us: case closed. TheOriginalOne 17:34, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Slow your roll son and tone it down. Don't take your frustration out on me. I didn't see your section, and knew nothing of your issue with the staff. I was just tinkering around with code, nothing more and I was only inquiring about the XY template. I don't see anything here you have to show your fangs about. Yamitora1 (talk) 18:07, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

It wasn't my intention to look like that, so I'm sorry if the first sentence was not very well written. It's no frustration at all. TheOriginalOne 18:23, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Wouldn't the templates used on the Forme Difference page work better?

This yellow template is so plain and feels limited.

granted there would have to be a new set of icons uploaded, but still these templates are a lot more resourceful. Yamitora1 (talk) 21:51, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Well, I personaly don't know exactly what to say, but I think it's pretty obvious that before the release of the games we should stick to the yellow one, because we still don't have all those details. TheOriginalOne 22:23, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
We are going to have to make another template for it, but we don't know everything we need right now. --SnorlaxMonster 05:37, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
I understand that much, and those were only mock ups with the only template that looked best for what I was trying to illustrate. So ignore the stats, I tried to remove them but the template threw a fit so I had to include them.
If I may make a suggestion, perhaps a template like the evolution template would be appropriate? More likely or not, you guys will have to modify that template to showcase the new evolution. Yamitora1 (talk) 05:06, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

INFO ON BLAZIKENITE

Credits to ZephyrSonic for putting up the promo trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5M9NqjC8Nw

It's official that the Blazikenite stone will be available through this distribution Torchic (hopefully, somebody can also put this info on the Events pokemon page)

The Seeker (talk) 05:24, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Almost all the active Bulbapedians had already heard about it shortly after the Mega Evolution concept itself was revealed. It was already on the events page. It's always good to look at pages before you start making suggestions for them. TheOriginalOne 13:55, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Better Lucarionite Image?

Is it possible to get a better Lucarionite image? The one on the page has tons of noise and isn't as near good quality as the Blazikenite image. Yamitora1 (talk) 01:35, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Errr...noise? Also, the image is the same quality as the blazikenite image, so I don't see a problem with it.--ForceFire 03:50, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Noise as in graphical glitches, I believe. Some of it is harmless at the moment, but it does prevent cause the sprites to not look as they should. In any case, the only way to get a better image at the moment would need to come from a demo or a new video since that is the best shot so far of both items. --Super goku (talk) 05:16, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
There isn't a Lucarionite image on the page or uploaded anywhere. Ataro (talk) 05:23, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Ataro, there is an image of the Lucationite. It is a file is called "XY Prerelease Lucarionite.png" and should be under the Blazikenite image as the second line of the article. --Super goku (talk) 07:38, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Except that's not an image of the Lucarionite. It's an image of the item menu screen. Not the same thing. The way it was worded made it sound like there was a Lucarionite image uploaded like the Blaziken file. Ataro (talk) 07:43, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
:/ Huh, I didn't know that we even had a Blazikenite sprite already. Is there a way to get a Lucarionite sprite from the same source or a mock-up of one based on the Blazikenite sprite and Lucarionite image? It could be useful as a placeholder until we get an official sprite. --Super goku (talk) 08:02, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

As some gathered, I was referring to the XY_Prerelease_Lucarionite.png image, which has noise/pixellation lowering it's quality. My guess is somehow the image has some compression done to it, which lead to the stray pink, blue and white pixels all over.

I first noticed it when I tried to make a sprite of the Lucarionite, it was like day and nite when compared to the Blazikenite summary image. I mean I could probably get away with a color swap of the Blazikenite orb but that still doesn't fix the problem that the XY_Prerelease_Lucarionite.png file has noise in it that is not present in the Blazikenite summary image. Yamitora1 (talk) 00:33, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

http://sta.sh/0oi6kf2t06j here is a screenshot to show you the noise when both the Blazikenite and Lucarionite summary pages are compared side by side. Yamitora1 (talk) 00:49, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Both screenshots were taken directly from the official Pokémon X & Pokémon Y website. There is no higher quality available, and there likely won't be until some time after October 12th. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 01:37, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Marbles

I'm not sure if this has any importance or if it could be added to the future trivia section, etc., but the first thing I noticed when I saw the Mega Stones were that they looked EXTREMELY similar to the classic marbles. You know, the ones that look like this? --> http://chriskp.squarespace.com/storage/Marbles.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1339402500050 Austinrich1 (talk) 01:53, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Those are known as "cat's-eye marbles", I believe. And yes, yes they do. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 00:14, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Mega Evolution Images & Mega Stone locations

Should images of the mega evolutions be posted on this page or on the respective Pokémon's page? And should the locations of the Mega Stones be listed on this page? Dark Rust (talk) 11:44, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Lack of Gen V and VI Pokemon

Is it too early to say rather or not no Gen V or Gen VI Pokémon Mega Evolves? Yamitora1 (talk) 09:27, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

We know for a fact that no Generation VI have any as it's been confirmed that they don't. Ataro (talk) 10:06, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
But Gen V has yet to be confirmed, interesting.- unsigned comment from Yamitora1 (talkcontribs)
Isn't it just speculation that there will be more than the ones we've seen so far? There's no official confirmation, as far as I know anyway, that there are any currently revealed Mega Evolutions. So, I think it is, at the moment, fair to say that no Gen V Pokémon Mega Evolve. --Wynd Fox 04:20, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

What happened to the Sprites?

So, I know for a fact that we had bag sprites for most--if not all--of the Mega Stones. I definitely knew they were there a few days ago, but I look now, and they're gone! Does anyone know why the Archives deleted/moved the bag sprites? If they moved them, where did they go? Superbreeder 00:36, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

The user provided a source that he had a capture card and was told to do a request. However, the request wasn't done so they got deleted. PattyMan 00:58, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

And who uploaded those sprites? Was it ShinyMew? SeanWheeler (talk) 03:52, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Images

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/136618113/pokemon/megastones.zip Here is a zipped folder of all Mega Stones from the Pokemon Global Link website. I'm not sure what's what, but I thought they'd be useful here. Scar7752 (talk) 11:57, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Gengarite

Sorry I didn't post anything to ask about it before changing this (first edit). But I changed Gengarites location description to remove the part that says "requires seeing a gengar" as I have played through X and Y 2 times each and not once have I seen or owned a Gengar and she always gives me the Gengarite, so I think she just gives the mega stone to you.- unsigned comment from MagmaAdminErin (talkcontribs)

I tried speaking to her without the Pokédex entry and she did not give it to me. Unless there's some other factor (which I doubt, because her text implies that she is refusing to give it because I didn't have Gengar's Pokédex entry), I can confirm that it is required. Are you positive you didn't have its Pokédex entry when you spoke to her? (I'm not sure when this comment was made, so sorry if it was over the six-month limit!) EpicDeino (talk) 20:59, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
I still don't have Gengar in my Pokédex in X, and I've beat the Champion, but the lady gave me the Gengarite the first time I talked to her. Maybe you only have to have Haunter in your 'dex? Whatever the prerequisite could be, it's not seeing Gengar. KYUREM'S ICE BLADE 13:39, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
According to the Official Kalos Region Guidebook, you need to encounter a member of the Gengar evolution-line. TheSilentHero (talk) 14:20, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Diancite

I (and many other TwitchPlaysPokemon viewers) recently saw someone Mega Evolve a Diancie during a link battle. The video should still be archived on Twitch, but finding it would be tricky... (talk) 15:27, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

This is not currently possible in X and Y. It was likely footage from ORAS trailers. If you could provide the actual video though, it would be much easier to evaluate. --SnorlaxMonster 15:58, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
It was definitely during X (unless the streamer is a very clever troll). They did a bunch of online battles after completing the game and ran into someone using it. It'd be somewhere in the video archives of http://www.twitch.tv/twitchplayspokemon but finding it in all that video would be difficult. (talk) 16:22, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
There are 10 parts of broadcast, I quickly reviewed last part and nothing, but I may overlook this moment. Asmod96 (talk) 16:30, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
I found this http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/2czov1/didnt_we_see_a_mega_diancie/ but it seems they battled against someone with a Mega Latios or Mega Latias, not a Mega Diancie.--Jose vd (talk) 11:23, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

New section

Shouldn't we add a new separate section with the revealed Mega Stones from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (Metagrossite and Diancite for now, we can add more when they are officially reveal)? --Jose vd (talk) 09:28, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

They'll go under unobtainable for now. But we don't even know what most of them will be called yet. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 09:45, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Trivia

Shouldn't the Tyranitarite and Manectite be referenced as well in that bit of trivia? Voltdetector (talk) 04:04, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

As the hidden text to prevent people from adding it says, Pupitar and Manectric are available through Friend Safari. glikglak 04:14, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Mega Stones are the results of Evolutionary stones being irradiated?

When was this ever stated to be fact? Yamitora1 (talk) 06:55, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Can we add that Mewtwonite X and Y are available via an event code in Sun and Moon? --LavaringX (talk) 20:47, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
