==Origin==
So, I was doin' some research on possible origins to Lunala and I found this {{wp|Itzpapalotl}} thing. Most of its description matches Lunala really well: Skeletal being, possibly being a bat, Invisibility Cloak, Star Goddess/Demon, Wings ornated with blades and used to rule over "Tamoanchan, the paradise of victims of infant mortality.".
Well, this kinda points that Lunala might be a interpretation of this deity, and that her design was made after it. [[User:ExLight|ExLight]] ([[User talk:ExLight|talk]]) 13:11, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Russian name

Hello could someone add that this line to the in other languages section?

|ru=Лунала Lunala|rumeaning=Transcription of English name

--Raltseye 13:49, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

Name Origin

Given that this Pokemon has that collar thing similar to dracuLA, the "La" in it's name may also be derived from that. Luna - latin for moon + La - dracuLA

Steamygoreng (talk) 22:44, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

Given it's clearly based on a bat, this seems plausible to me as well. -- KiANGLO TALK 06:56, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
"la" is hardly an iconic part of "Dracula". That's not enough to say with any real confidence that that's part of the name. (And the other stuff isn't strongly evocative of Dracula/vampires either.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 07:05, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

I strongly believe its name comes from luna, meaning moon in Spanish, and lunula, a pendant from the Bronze Age that bears a striking resemblance to its head, wings and tail. Lunula also translates to "little moon." - unsigned comment from TheMichromeBlade (talkcontribs)

Moon weak to Dark?

Is it worth mentioning in the trivia section that despite being based off of the moon, Lunala has a double weakness to Dark-type moves? I know Dark-type is referred to as Evil-type in Japanese, but still, is that worth mentioning? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:35, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

I would say no. There's no reason something moon-based CAN'T be weak to Dark. After all, Lunatone is as well. -- KiANGLO TALK 02:51, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

Error

"Along with Solgaleo, it was initially revealed in May 2016, but officially revealed on June 2, 2016." This sentence in the opening states that Lunala was revealed twice. Is that what it is supposed to say, or is it an error? Litwick96 13:34, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Name

I think that the "ala" part comes from galaxy with the thing on it's head - unsigned comment from Dean624 (talkcontribs)

That's not very likely. It's not a convenient or really unique/identifiable part of "galaxy" to pull from the word. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:51, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
I think the name might come from "Lunula[1]" actually. Lunula has a variety of meanings but most of them are related to the moon in shape or design. One of them was even a collar (see the gold lunula page[2]) in the bronze age and Lunala has a similar looking crescent moon collar. Seems somewhat likely imo Zeb (talk) 15:21, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

I think it related to the fact that she is a girl like Luna. Or maybe it is a mix of Luna and Galaxy - unsigned comment from Xerneas716 (talkcontribs)

Anatomical Reference

I created a Bulbapedia account just to post this. There is an Anatomical term called: Lunula.

It is defined as a Pale, Half Moon-shaped area at the base of nails.

One thing tipped me off that this could have been part of the origin since the names are so similar.

Another thing is the "half-moon," tid bit.

Once I came on here to check it out was Lunala's full moon form. It's pale. Like the definition, despite it being a full-moon form. - unsigned comment from Keahi (talkcontribs)

They're similar because they come from the same basic concept. That's pretty much it. Not because Lunala is inspired by "lunula". Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:16, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Origin

So, I was doin' some research on possible origins to Lunala and I found this Itzpapalotl thing.

ExLight (talk) 13:11, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Sun cosmoem

Maybe we should add evolve cosmoem as a availability option for sun as people can get a cosmog in game that evolves in the opposite legendary. - unsigned comment from Gabain1993 (talkcontribs)

I don't think we do evolve/breed unless that's the only option. --Celadonkey 12:35, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
You can't actually evolve the Cosmog you get in post-game Moon into a Solgaleo, or the Cosmog you get in post-game Sun into a Lunala. You just get a second one of the box legendary. TheDoctorPotter (talk) 15:44, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Other possible name origin

Luna and la are two words in Spanish, meaning "moon" and "the". So Lunala's name basically means "the moon".

Totem Lurantis (talk) 06:38, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

Lunala and Solgaleo assumes both alternate forms when are in the Ultra Space, could you add this as a reason why it changes form? Pika fanatic (talk) 19:18, 26 Sptember 2017 (UTC)

A recent update to Pokemon Shuffle changed some of Lunala's stats. In the side game data section, could someone who is able to edit the page change the "max" field to 145 and the "raisemaxlevel" field to 20? VioletPumpkin (talk) 04:52, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
