Revision as of 09:31, 5 December 2009

Something is very wrong here. I think somehow the episode order got really screwed up in a couple of places. In episode 46, "Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon", Ash's Charmeleon evolves into a Charizard, but then, in episode 66, "Snow Way Out", He uses Charmander to melt an ice cave in the snow. Does this confuse anyone else? Also, Jessie's Lickitung is mentioned in episode 49, "So Near Yet so Farfetch'd", but she doesn't catch it until episode 52, "Princess versus Princess". What is going on here? Anyone who has any idea of the correct episode order, I'd really appreciate if you helped me out! I have all of the first season downloaded and the episodes are in the same order as on this site but the order is obviously wrong! A little help please? Pikafanman

Yes, yes, we all should know about this. the order was screwed up because of Electric Soldier Porygon, (the episode that caused those seizures) Episodes 52 and 53 belong in between 47 and 48 as for "Holiday HiJynx" and "Snow way out," they belong right before episode 40! Does that Help? MoldyOrange 04:32, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that helps me out a lot, thanks. Maybe we should put a note of that on the page? {{subst:User:Pikafanman}} 10:38, 26 March 2008
It is on the seperate pages for those episodes. MoldyOrange 04:42, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm mistakin, but isn't there 82 episodes in season one?--MỸSTЄЯỸЊӘFF (TALK) 11:51, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
You're mistaken. You're probably mistaking an arc for a season, a mistake that's unfortunately becoming increasingly common. Season 1 runs EP001-EP051 and EP054-EP057 for a total of 55 episodes counting ones initially skipped; EP052 and EP053 were reordered to the start of season two in the dub. You can tell whether an Indigo League episode that wasn't inherently banned is from season 1 or season 2 by looking at what's at the end. Only season 1 episodes have the Pokérap at the end. If it has Pikachu's Jukebox, you're either watching EP018 that debuted incredibly late, or it's a season 2 episode.
Coincidentially, it's the other side of the episode that one can tell Orange Islands episodes between season 2 and season 3. If the theme runs a full TV-size length, it's season 2. If it's shortened to just the intro and chorus, it's season 3. An episode that was inherently presented as part of the Johto Journeys arc can tell whether it's an actual Johto Journeys season 3 episode or a season 4 episode that was later reclassified under the Johto League Champions arc; if the theme is at the top of the show, it's season 3, whereas if the theme comes after the first part of the episode, it's season 4.
Do recall that an arc and a season, despite increasingly-common belief, are not one and the same. The arc is what's dependent on the theme, not the season. Seasons are closer to a 52-episode-order definition, but actually more dependent on airdates (seasons start sometime between the August-October period) than clusters of episodes. As far as we've gotten, only the eighth arc spans exactly one whole season. --Shiningpikablu252 15:45, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
