This page tries to portray QR Code Pokémon as if they were Mystery Gift-style events, when in fact they're far closer to just being in-game gift Pokémon. The games do not accept arbitrary QR Codes (like they do with Mystery Gifts); instead, there are one or two built-in gift Pokémon that can only be received after scanning the corresponding QR Code.

If anything, they are somewhat analogous to Pokémon that require event items to encounter, like the Flower Paradise Shaymin. But despite those actually being event-exclusive (unlike QR Code Pokémon), we list those Pokémon on the "List of in-game event Pokémon" pages.

I think we should merge this page into List of in-game event Pokémon in Generation VII. The details on how the QR Codes were revealed can go on the QR Code page. --SnorlaxMonster 07:39, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
