Shortcut

Shortcut "Sdex" is reserved for Sinnoh Pokedex, just saying. ;) Asmod96 (talk) 21:06, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I saw that later. I have thought of using "ShDex" instead. Though I'm open to ideas. I did use the Sdex setup as the working version after Adex had extra stuff I didn't need. CycloneGU (talk) 23:16, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Maybe "Tdex". T is from PokeToru, Japanese name of Shuffle. Asmod96 (talk) 18:24, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
I went with "ShDex" for now. I saw this after making the move. If deemed appropriate to use Tdex, we can do that, but that might be confusing in English. CycloneGU (talk) 18:52, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Move Suggestion

In response to the move suggestion, I say no. We have all sorts of miscellaneous numbering systems for miscellaneous games, so this is an identical case to those. Also, Pokémon Shuffle is already long enough; there's no reason to add this table to that page, causing the size of the page to be massive. CycloneGU (talk) 20:12, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

It's a move suggestion, not a merge suggestion. --Abcboy (talk) 20:25, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
...scratch my comments, I'm an idiot.
I'm all right with this suggestion, as "Browser" does seem excessive now that you mention it. If you make the move, please check on a couple of the pages linking to the current location to fix the link on those pages; in particular, I've asked Force Fire to edit the template to include the new page, so make sure to fix that one. CycloneGU (talk) 20:31, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Attack power

Should we include the attack power of the Pokémon at level 1 in the list? I think we should, as it is just a single number and would make the article comprehsensive. As sorting by Attack Power can be done on uncaught Pokémon, we could include this value for Pokémon that are currently unavailable. PartHunter (talk) 11:21, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Coincidentally, I posted about this, too. I think skill and base power should be removed from stages over there because they have nothing to do with the stages. CycloneGU (talk) 23:18, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Xerneas and Quirky+

Serebii and a GameFAQ I found say that Xerneas has Quirky+. While they're not ideal sources, can someone check Xerneas's skill? Besides possibly Xerneas, no other Pokémon appears to have Quirky+. --Abcboy (talk) 14:58, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

I can confirm that Xerneas has Quirky+. I just fixed it. - unsigned comment from PartHunter (talkcontribs)

Sprites

I've worked out how to get all the in-game sprites of each Pokémon for use in this article. Just post a screenshot of the sprite onto Miiverse, then use a computer to download the image, crop it and upload to the archives. I would do it myself, but I can't upload in the archives and my computer can't access Miiverse (my computer blocks it). PartHunter (talk) 02:09, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

People have ripped them, and our German-language affiliate already has all 719 sprites. It's just a matter of getting permission to use them and upload them. --Abcboy (talk) 02:22, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
If they are a partner of ours, we should be able to easily obtain permission. So let's work on doing that. CycloneGU (talk) 03:08, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Oh, PokéWiki has them? That makes things much easier. --SnorlaxMonster 10:51, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
When they are ready, can you set the template used on this page to use them instead of the images used from the other Pokédex pages? It would allow for a quick and simple update of every one of the lines. The only concern I have is what will happen with the ones that are not yet released. CycloneGU (talk) 21:00, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Oh, wait. Abcboy already said the other site has all 719. Never mind, they'll all be there then. CycloneGU (talk) 21:01, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Power Terminology

The last sentence in the introduction details what base power represents even though the column has been changed to Level 1 Attack power. Should the language be changed to reflect this? Also, the sentence as it is written would imply that the Base Power is what increases as the Pokémon levels, despite the fact that its definition implies the number is static. Mimi (talk) 19:14, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Is the new version better? I guess it's better to say leveling up as it could otherwise be implied to increase power as it simply gains experience. CycloneGU (talk) 01:58, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Mhmmm, I think that makes sense. Thanks! Mimi (talk) 03:00, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Sorting

Could someone who knows how to please make the table sortable? PartHunter (talk) 07:11, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Full Ability List

Thanks to a post by Sciresm, we have now a full list of the intended types and abilities for every single Pokémon when and if it's added to the game. I'm going to use this list to update the data for the Pokémon that are presently in the game list. I will later add in comments all the unlisted ones so all we have to do is copy and paste them into our list once the Dex is updated in-game.

Notice also that they use the term "Pokédex" (this can be verified with Pidgey, who is #10 in the Shuffle onscreen data). Therefore, I think this page might need to now be referred to as a Pokédex, not as a list. If there are no arguments, I'll move the page later this evening after working on it; otherwise, I will wait until it's discussed. CycloneGU (talk) 16:06, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Do not move this list. The use of Pokédex in that data dump could very well be nothing more than personal formatting by the poster. Use the terms that are actually used by the game when played, not something that may just be hidden in the code. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 16:30, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
All right, fair enough. I was going by the dump data reading "Pokedex #: 999" for unknowns, and thought that might be safe since it's from the direct dump. Will leave the list here for my part. CycloneGU (talk) 17:16, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
For future reference, the game does say that it is sorted by Pokédex number. --Abcboy (talk) 00:27, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, that's why I was going to suggest moving it once more, as the game refers to its ordering as a Pokédex. CycloneGU (talk) 00:29, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Datamined Skills

The datamined Skills for unreleased Pokémon have been consistently wrong, so I'm led to believe they are simply filler values. I don't think we should include them. --SnorlaxMonster 12:14, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Was just going to check them now (as I've caught 8/10 so far, ironically getting enough S ranks to go after Mewtwo sometime), but I do know I put in Pinsir and that was the case with Swarm not being used there, so the possibility of them being placeholders is definitely there. Unless the person who provided that list updates it every time a new set of stages is added, we most likely have to go by what we get in-game. CycloneGU (talk) 18:00, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
I know a lot of this is placeholders, so take this with a grain of salt, but ScriesM posted an updated Pokédex for 1.2.1]. It will be interesting seeing if the information changes there for those who do not currently have stages in which to obtain them (generally evolutions of those in 151-180). CycloneGU (talk) 22:21, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Adding More Columns and Subheadings

I'm proposing to add these columns: 1) Level 10 Attack Power; 2) Level 15 Attack Power (Edit: or, Current Max Attack Power); 3) No. of Raise Max Level (max large lollipops can be used) to the Pokémon list. And to move or copy the Mega Pokémon list of Pokémon Shuffle to this page (Mega_Evolution#Mega_Effects). Karlo918 (talk) 02:17, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Skil Swapper

What are we going to do now that the Skill Swapper has been added, in relation to this page? PartHunter (talk) 00:19, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

I'm working on an edit to the page that will include new columns for Raise Max Levels and Skill Swapper skills right now, actually. Since the number of Pokemon eligible for these Enhancements will likely increase over time, I think making it part of the table is much better than listing them all separately. VioletPumpkin (talk) 00:28, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

Request: upload Winking Pikachu and Raichu icons

Could anyone (who has the permission) upload the Winking and other emotion Pokémon icons and if okay, other icons not yet uploaded, too. Thanks. Karlo918 (talk) 07:50, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Winking Pikachu & Raichu uploaded. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 08:25, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! Could you upload other emotion icons, too? Especially those have been released like Winking Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Totodile, Snorunt and Glalie. Karlo918 (talk) 07:47, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

New sprites?

Is anyone able to grab screenshots from the game of the five newest winking Pokemon (Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, and Clefairy)? I've been trying to upload new sprites as they're added to the list, but all I can do is crop them from images on the JP Shuffle site, and the new winking Pokemon originally had art which I uploaded, but the sprites that have since appeared weren't easy to crop out. So if anyone can get them on a brighter background (like whatever exactly this is), I'd be happy to try to crop them. Or if someone can rip all the new sprites (including all the winking and other variations) or knows someone who can, that'd be even better.

And if anyone else wants to try their hand at adding new sprites when Shuffle updates, http://www.poketoru.jp/news/ usually has images of them. Just browse through the links with the latest date and you should be able to find it. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:57, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

This page has all of the ripped sprites. I think they should be big enough, too. VioletPumpkin (talk) 16:09, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Ah, didn't see the comments on the archives that said we didn't have permission to use them. For now, I've taken screenshots of the recent set of Winking forms and put them in this album. VioletPumpkin (talk) 17:06, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the screenshots, but luckily I didn't need them this time. ;) The new source doesn't seem to have everything, though, so it could be necessary for some future sprites.
Can someone just clarify for me, if the Costumed Sableye Mega Evolves, does it look the same as the regular Mega Sableye (or not)? Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:13, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
It looks identical to the regular Mega Sableye. VioletPumpkin (talk) 14:49, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Is it me, or did some Pokemon sprites change color?

The update today just made the gift icon that was on Mobile, and now I think Mewtwo's a darker color than before. Did it change or is it just me? And if we did, should we mention it somehow? Unowninator (talk) 06:07, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Update: Also, it looks like Ho-oh went from orange to red now. Unowninator (talk) 06:11, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
It appears the update today on 3DS made many of the same graphical changes to sprites that happened on mobile a couple of months ago. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:14, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Number of Pokémon

I've read the newest update, and am a bit confused by it. Not wanting to use unreleased data is understandable, but the Pokédex has a few silhouetted Pokémon listed. Just by looking at the picture, it's clear which Pokémon and type (unless they have 2) it is. Every other piece info related to unreleased Pokémon should be unknown until the official release. MezzoDragon (talk) 18:26, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

I agree. We've always added Pokemon to this list as soon as their silhouettes are visible in the Pokedex, with blank data if need be. CycloneGU, why the sudden change in policy? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Back in 2015, when I first talked to Kogoro about it, she wanted us to only make them visible when they were first officially released. This dated back to the first Daily Pokémon event. Has this policy changed since I fell away from editing the pages in 2016? I'm only going by what I followed back in 2015. The reason, I think, was in case they change their minds before the event is released, which in theory could happen (even if not practical). You can even see on the very first Daily updates that we included them one at a time. This was also before we got leaks of information from hackers.
If we now have a policy to include them immediately upon the data being added (since we see them in leaks anyway), I'll double-check this to verify. Can you tell me who I should follow up with on this? CycloneGU (talk) 19:15, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I wasn't aware of that prior policy, and I'm not sure if it's officially "changed". It's possible those who knew about the policy just neglected to maintain the page, leaving other users able to add things immediately when the data was added. Since those Pokémon were being added regularly, I had assumed it was policy. Sorry about that assumption. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:21, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I'll talk with Kogoro about this and see what she says. At this point, I am pretty sure it's safe to assume that data added to the game is going to be used when the leaked data says it's going to be used, and that's the reason I'm OK with adding the information, but not actually making it visible until it's actually released (hence the comment tags around various Pokémon in the list for the next two weeks and even the dailies). I'm not against it myself, but I'll get the higher opinion here.
Just to clarify, that original policy comes from here, where Kogoro asked me not to post information for upcoming days before their appearance; I had actually posted some information for the coming days at the time and it was reversed. Again, this might be different than what we'd do now, but I'd have to verify this before saying we should go ahead and do it regularly. CycloneGU (talk) 19:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
There are currently 10 unreleased Pokémon that are visible on this site. Should they be hidden? MezzoDragon (talk) 21:44, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Split suggestion

This page is now more than 75k bytes and getting a bit slow to load sometimes, at least for my computer. Eyeballing it, it looks like we could bring that down to roughly 60k bytes by splitting off the Mega Evolution info into its own article. Since the Mega info has always been kind of an awkward stepchild that never really fit here or on the main Mega Evolution page, I think giving it its own page would also give it the proper home it's never quite had. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:18, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

I have been contemplating splitting off the Mega sections as well. That's what I meant when I said in an edit comment that it could use a rework.
Go ahead and create a page in your userspace (maybe under User:Pumpkinking0192/List of Mega Evolution Pokémon in Pokémon Shuffle) utilizing the information in those sections and I can help you organize everything. IF it's approved for its own page, we can move it in place and remove it from this article at that point. CycloneGU (talk) 19:21, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I think it would fit better as a subsection of Mega Evolution, in the same way we treat Mega Evolution mechanics in other games. I don't see there being enough to justify its own page. It belongs here about as much as an explanation of Mega Evolution belongs on the list of Pokémon by National Pokédex number. --Abcboy (talk) 19:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps a subpage of Mega Evolution, but I don't think it belongs on the main Mega Evolution page. Notice that every other non-core-series game on there has a section of just a paragraph or two, either because each Pokémon that can Mega Evolve has its own page (Super Smash Bros., Pokken Tournament), or because the Mega mechanics are barely changed from the core series (Mystery Dungeon, etc). There's just too much information about Shuffle Megas to be able to fit it in as a subsection on either this page or the Mega Evolution page, in my opinion. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Update: I've created a draft in my userspace at User:Pumpkinking0192/Mega Evolution in Pokémon Shuffle. I tried to expand the scope to cover every aspect of Mega Evolution, not just the list, so I no longer think "List of..." is a suitable title. I'd suggest that if we mainspace it, we either title it "Mega Evolution in Pokémon Shuffle" or make it a subpage of Mega Evolution, titled "Mega Evolution/Pokémon Shuffle". What do y'all think? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:12, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

Two weeks later, and nobody's said a thing. Does anybody have an opinion at all, whether for or against? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:04, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I've been debating what to do with this, and we just had a discussion regarding the subject to have additional opinion. Based on that discussion, I'm going to go ahead and split off the "List of Mega Effects" section as its own "Mega Effects" page under the basis that Mega Effects are a thing, just like Skills are, which also was created under the basis that Skills are not Abilities and are their own separate thing.
that's all I'm doing for now for relocating information. I'm going to try to condense all of the location information into a single table. Once that's completed, we'll look at moving the data to a single home that it fits on, which might be the actual Mega Evolution page (though the Mega Stones might be considered items in a way, but not the same kind of items as the game calls them, so I'll ponder that later). The single table of where they are all found would be more useful than three different tables.
That leaves Mechanics. That could go to Mega Evolution, and my thinking after the discussion is that it might fit with the table underneath of it at Mega Evolution. For me, the sticking point was Mega Effects making it too much information to add to the page, but with a combined table and with Mega Effects being their own page, I think that makes it manageable as a section at Mega Evolution. I'll start working on that table sometime after moving Mega Effects into place, so you may find me editing at that userpage to get it started, and you're welcome to help with it.
Until all data is sorted, leave it at this page for now as-is, and I'll see if I cann get the table setup done by tomorrow so we can remove it here. the exception will be Mega Effect, which I will remove when that page is ready. CycloneGU (talk) 02:50, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Sounds great to me!
On the same userpage, I've tried to help you out by creating a single table that condenses all the Mega Stone location information, including what Pokemon can use them and when each stone was available. This may be too much information and probably resulted in a too-cluttered table, but I didn't really realize that until I was too far underway to stop. If you decide to construct your own table by deleting columns out of mine, may I ask that you do it to a copy-pasted version? I think I'd like to keep my drafts (or at least, the one with color coding) in my userspace for my own personal future reference. Hope this was of some help, even if it wasn't much! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 08:30, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I could do that. I will review it later. I have a format in mind, but I'll see what you've added to the table and how you've formatted it. Do you mind if I make formatting fixes to the table you want to keep, if any can be made? Or do you want me to leave that untouched on your copy? CycloneGU (talk) 13:58, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Updating, I have edited your table into another copy to fit in with the prose. Mechanics can include a blurb on the winking and costumed variants of Pokémon, and they don't have to be in the table, which we will only use to show existing Mega Sprites in the game (this includes Shiny Mega Rayquaza and Shiny Mega Gyarados). I've also listed each entry without any rowspan code strictly for sorting purposes. Finally, I corrected an error on your table where you had Galladeite in Main Stage 580. CycloneGU (talk) 15:42, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Ah, much better! My only concern — though I'm not sure if I'm just misunderstanding what you said above about rowspan "strictly for sorting purposes" — is that getting rid of rowspan and just using <br> kind of screws up the sortability of rows that include multiple methods (since it will sort that row only into the first method's spot, never the second's). That's the reason I used separate cells and rowspans. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:58, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
As of right now, all those using Mission Cards were previously released as competitive stages, so I see no harm with sorting them under Mission Cards to put them together while noting they were previously competitions. CycloneGU (talk) 16:38, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Pokémon Variations

I'm not sure if the variation list is accurate or not. Nor do I know what counts as a Pokémon variant. I'm certain mega evolution doesn't count, but that's as far as my certainty goes. May someone please clarify. MezzoDragon (talk) 19:30, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Using an example, I would assume that all four versions of Deoxys would be four variants, or that an Alola Form gives Geodude or any other such 'Mon two variants. I do not know how the original mathematics took this into account, however, as I did not add that part of the prose initially. CycloneGU (talk) 19:34, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Makes sense to me. Though, because of this, I think the variant number might be a bit off. I plan on double checking. I won't include the unreleased Pokémon, though. Only the Pokémon listed on this site should count, no? MezzoDragon (talk) 20:56, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I'm still seeking opinion on the "only upon release" policy which I followed since 2015. I'll reflect on that further once I have more. For now, yes, only use what is released, which means the two Oricorio don't count, nor do Sandslash, Ninetales, etc. Golem's family is in the Safari, however, and DO count. Something I did not consider, though, are all the facial and costume Pikachu forms, and other winkers. Maybe only the variants count in such cases and the normal one does not. CycloneGU (talk) 21:06, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
There are a few Pokémon without a normal version. Examples: Meowstic. I suppose those Pokémon could count as two different variants. The rest, as you suggested, should not count. At least, not in the variant number. If so, that would remove some Pokémon from the equation. In any case, I'm only going to include Pokémon visible on this site. MezzoDragon (talk) 21:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Note that I have not updated some special stage info yet, nor has anyone else. I'm contemplating just going ahead and putting the entire Daily in at once. I'll make a decision on that later this evening. I'm also contemplating putting in the other list entries, but hiding ability info until they appear for the first time. CycloneGU (talk) 22:01, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I notice that you've been updating the variation count every now and then, so I assume some formula and/or inclusion rules were agreed upon. Could you please explain what those are, maybe showing the math? It could make updating the count much easier.
From my calculations, counting every Pokémon icon with a subtitle under its name, the current count of 89 seems like it should be 114: 26 Winking + 10 male/female + 3 Shiny + 5 "Spooky" + 5 "Holiday" + 17 Alola forms + 2 Vivillon patterns + 4 Shellos/Gastrodon + 1 Ash-Greninja + 2 Shaymin + 2 Giratina + 6 Genies + 3 Zygarde + 2 Meloetta + 2 Hoopa + 2 Keldeo + 2 B/W Kyurem + 2 Deerling/Sawsbuck + 4 Oricorio + 5 Rotom + 9 misc Pikachu (not counting winking/spooky/holiday again) = 114.
If we count "normal" versions of Pokémon, who have alternate forms but no subtitle (such as normal Muk, normal Pikachu), then that adds up to: 26 non-Winking + 3 non-Shiny + 4 non-Spooky (not re-counting Pikachu) + 4 non-Holiday (not re-counting Pikachu) + 15 non-Alola (not re-counting Raichu, and Dugtrio is unreleased) + 1 Greninja + 1 Kyurem + 1 Rotom = 55.
The total amount of Pokémon that have any alternate form is: 55 (as listed above) + 5 male/female + 1 Vivillon + 2 Shellos/Gastrodon + 1 Shaymin + 1 Giratina + 3 Genies + 1 Zygarde + 1 Meloetta + 1 Hoopa + 1 Keldeo + 1 Oricorio = 73, or 75 if you count Deerling/Sawsbuck (even though each of the two have only one form at the moment) --Boblers (talk) 02:02, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Typo?

Does Mega Salamence's Mega Effect actually say "Clears one kind Pokémon..." and not "Clears one kind of Pokémon..."? If it's a typo in the game, should it be noted? slimey01 00:03, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

I don't have its Mega Stone and can't check, but I just asked the question in a Shuffle chat and got an answer. The exact in-game text is, according to this user, "Clears one kind of Pokémon with the same type as Mega Salamence (max 10)." I believe that is a typo, so I'll go ahead and fix it if you haven't already. CycloneGU (talk) 00:09, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Thank you! slimey01 01:10, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Celebration Pikachus

The icons for the Celebration Pikachu, after the first, seems to be broken or missing. I'm certain those icons exist somewhere on the net. Any way to fix it? MezzoDragon (talk) 16:14, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
